  1. Must be a mineral deficiency. Maybe calcium in the limestone? Cool pic.
  2. Much more to it with stand hunting for most of us than simply just sitting and waiting imo. Figuring out where to hang your stand, by looking at the clues given to use is in every sense hunting. Native American Indians even hunted by ambush means, hardly think of their skills as being "waiters" jm2cw.
  3. The back field plot. Not near as much moisture up in the hills as in the bottom, but plot still did ok.
  4. Will look at wrapping up the signups this Friday to get teams drawn.

Been a lot going on today, but will never forget that morning.
  6. Swapped a couple cards late yesterday after i got home and had a clean heavy bodied pretty 8 pt that i would have passed last year. Appears to be about the best so far this year.
  7. Looks good Jerry. Hoping to work the ground for our fall plots soon. Not too likely I will get to it before the rain moves in. Got part burned off, most the clipped grass burned off. Still a lot of green that has not turned yet from spraying.
  8. So far spent most this weekend in the icu with my mother. Hoping we get her into a regular room this afternoon.
  9. Afraid it is gonna hang along the western coast line of Florida up to the panhandle and go inland there.
  10. Short answer, dunno. Been a rough week dealing with issues around my mother, been a logistical nightmare.

Dunno Corey. I never have installed the tapatalk ap on my current phone. I had it on my other and never used it. I just use chrome. Most stuff works with it.
  12. Welcome to the forums. Rig in the pic looks like something you would expect to see in Texas. No working link to a video.
  13. Man that is a real shame. Hope they can get the fires under control Dave.
  14. A little early yet here, but have in the past had a few early shedders, usually towards the end of this month they are cleaned off Have only gotten pics of one I might consider a shooter this summer, and he is mismatched in the antlers but has at least an 18 inch inside spread and has a 3.5 + year old body shape. Been tough to get excited this season.
  15. I am not ready, not likely I will make it out until later on in the season, unless we get some big temp swings.
  16. These were a 4.7 maturity bean, usually farmers plant them in April-May, I did not get them in until later on in June. That was all rural king had in the store and was lucky to get them. Next year will buy a mix, but will order the seed early. The ground those are on in that deer pic is bottom ground that floods and has a lot of sand wash in. I did not even fertilize them.
  17. Should have been doing more prep work this weekend but have some ongoing issues with mom that have taken a bit away from free time. Have my seed ready. Might get to spray roundup and 24d this afternoon on the +- acre i have mowed if things workout. Wont attempt a burn at this point. Gonna over seed about 2 acres of rye for our cows, and hand broadcast rye into the soybeans. With the flooding we have turkeys back around, figures.
  18. That is cool Jerry, and if he does kill a monster on your place during bow season be sure he gets you some good pics. Would be a rewarding feeling.
  19. Need to survey the aftermath of the storms from the harvey remnants that rolled through. We mostly got rain and winds, don't think we had any trees down on our place from it. Hopefully will dry out enough to get on the tractor, got to play catch up on things around here. Need to torch the area, about an acre, I plan to plant in clover and winter rye, get that ready to til or disc. Might just cut a fire break around it and burn it off once it dries out enough.
  20. My old trailer doesn't have trailer brakes. Had i been pulling it and that trucker pulled the same stunt would have been a very bad outcome. Not just young drivers unfortunately. Seems to be more and more idiots on the roads these days that just don't care.
  21. Far corner of soybean plot in the bottom. Deer seem to like the hoosier pride gly resistant beans just fine. At $25 per 50 lb bag from rural king, I will be planting these again next year.
