  1. I just use regular decoys....seems that those would be a pain to use!! Another gimmick in my opinion.
  2. Rhino .660 choke and 3" Nitro Heavy shot H378 loads.
  3. I remember those bows being all the rage back in the 80's with their "hatchet Cams" and shooters like Burly Hall leading the pack on the 3-D circuit. Then out came the solo cams, and most other bows went by the way side including HC. Good question, I don't even know if they are still being made?
  4. A little too early to think about spring turkeys!!! Best part, is that he's still got to make it through the winter!! I don't start getting excited until late march early april!!!By that time, there's a good chance that they will make it to the spring!!
  5. Kwikee Kwiver Mechanical in either the 4 arrow or their 3 arrow compact model. I prefer the 2 arrow attachment points Vs the one. Besides I prfer to shoot my bow without any quiver on the bow. I also have the bracket from Kwikee that screws intio the tree so that I can remove the quiver and install it into that bracket on the tree. My bow is better balanced without a quiver on.
  6. Looked at the T/C Encore and this gun, but in the Accura Model. The CVA can be bought for almost 1/2 the cost of the Encore or even more!! Might take the plunge myself!!
  7. I had a similar issue, and used Lighter Fluid in a pinch. Without the match of course!!!
  8. Fantastic Buck!! WTG!!

    Very nice buck....Congrats!!
  12. Honestly, for extremely cold weather, you can't beat the pac boots. Sportsmans guide carries an awesome pair for the money!!! Click the link below. Note: Most other types of boots work well as long as your "moving" around like walking or still hunting. When your sitting for hours on end in very cold conditions, these boots don't work well at all. http://shop.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/guide-gear-minus-100-degree-waterproof-2000-gram-thinsulate-insulated-pac-boots.aspx?a=88570
  13. Not a huge fan of Under Armour anymore. I had there tan cold gear tops and bottoms, and when wearing them for bowhunting, they don't breath, therefore keeping you wet from sweat and when your at your stand you get cold. Going back to the poly-propoline stuff or Cabela's thermastat clothing instead. Also, Under Armour is way over priced, and I now feel it doesn't work anyway.
  14. That's my pet peave here in WNY. Why don't they start the fall season on October 1st like the rest of the state??? I'm in the bowhunting mode for deer by that time of the month!!
  15. I haven't tried their two bladed heads yet, since I'm shooting their three bladed ones!!! Awesome broadheads!!! Ditto to what everyone else has mentioned!!
  16. I picked up their "Goliath" model of the Viper two seasons ago, love that stand!!! I believe that it ran me back then $289.00? Your paying extra for all the bells and whistles on yours. Check out the stripped down versions. The thing I love most is that padded front bar!!! It helps you out when climbing and mostly for security when standing!!!
  17. Favorite calls? I have been having great success with some box calls custom made for me by a friend in WI. Other than those, I use mouth calls made by Knight & Hale. (The ones with the brown tape and yellow latex.)
  18. Like most of the others here, I usually practice a month before the season. After the season closes, they usually get put away because of all the chores around the house take up most of my time. I use to get into calling contests when I was younger, and placed in the top 10 a few times. Stopped competing many years ago because I feel that they are fixed. The best "Judges" in my book are dead turkeys!!!
  19. After taking my #2 bird on tuesday morning, on the way home I spotted a strutting bird with 4 hens out in a field. I personally feel that it should be getting better right till the close of the season!!!
  20. A hen is a hen. To a gobbler, the fact that she's sporting a beard, wouldn't effect his attitude at all about mating. My 2 cents.
  21. Congrats on a job well done!!! WTG!!!!
