  5. Well my NY season came to a close early this morning. At 5:52am plulled the trigger on a nice gobbler comming into my jake decoy. 19.2 lbs., 9 1/2" Beard, and 1" and 1 1/8" spurs. Awesome hunt!!!

  9. Great finish to an awesome season!!!! Those are two fine gobblers in anyone's book!!! WTG!!!
  10. LOL!!! I know what you mean!! I got a new shirt, vest, and pants in the Mossy Oak Obsession camo, but as you can see, that Break-up camo jacket doesn't match!! Realtree has good patterns as well, but that vest doesn't come in their camo patterns???
  11. He might of seen you moving around!!! When he gobbled on the same hill you were on, I would of stayed right there and waited him out. PLay the silent game with him. Give out a few calls then shut up for 20 minutes. Usually the second time you start to call, he will gobble froom a very short distance away. Remember Patience is always your best virtue. They are on turkey time, not our time.
  12. Awesome!!!!! WTG on a father/son hunt!!! You both will remember that hunt forever!!! That smile on his face says it all right there!! Congrats again!!!

  15. WTG Wooly!!! By the way, whose that guy in those Foster Grants LOL!!!!! Nice pic's too!!! Congrats......
  16. The first few days of the NY season I experienced the same thing. Heard a few sound off early while still in the roost, but as soon as they hit the ground, they all went silent, and the woods ended up being as quiet as a Church. That spells only one thing......."Hens"!!! Personally, I real feel that this spring season will be much better the second half of the month!! Some years all the action comes early, some mid-month, and other's near the end!! Stick with it, and things will happen!!
  17. Best of luck this morning!!!!
  18. Best of luck with that guy!! He sure look's impressive weight wise!!
  19. Wooly, I was the only one of us to get a permit for Iroquois National Wildlife refuge this season. My buddy was hunting on a Neighbor's piece of land and I was in the refuge. This is the second year in a row taking a Mature longbeard from there. Lucky, since those swamp birds are tuff!!
  20. Things all worked out well yesterday morning. Ticked off a hen with a Jerry Zebro custom box call and she brought her gobbler right in to me. Heard this guy sound off at 5:45am and finally pulled the trigger at 6:20am. The sounds that hen was making were awesome!!!! That box call mimicked her to a "T"!!! Stats: 18.8 lbs, 9" beard, and 7/8" spurs. Good two year old!! Working on #2.
  21. WTG!!! Our season doesn't kick in until may 1st!! Can't wait to get out after them as well.
  22. Knee high LaCrosse Burly boots. I hate getting wet feet or pant legs for that matter while spring turkey hunting. Your always crossing large fields with early morning dew or crossing many creeks or swamps while in the woods. LaCrosse rubber boots always worked for me.
