Thats too bad. I used to love that show. But Bobs getting old and its time for retirement. A guy from my home town of Owosso won the showcase showdown here just a month or so ago. It was on the front page of the local paper so I thought that was pretty cool.

I seen it was at $3.45 when I got out of work. Diesel fuel was $2.69. It looks like I picked my Duramax up just in the nick of time. hehehe.......I love it.

I'm sorry but my uncle has given me a huge disliking to Hendrick motorsports. Hes one of them cocky arrogant people who likes to just rub it in every race Hendrick cars do good. I don't care how well my driver does, I just don't like to see Hendrick cars do good for that reason alone.

Yeah, basically.....Now your not going to get that many discounts on the new body style 2007's, thats why I went with the 2007 Classic. If you like that body style, nows the time to be shopping......them 2007 Classics are getting to be few and far between. I dont plan on lifting it. Maybe a leveling kit. I already put 285's on it which are 2 sizes bigger than the stock tire. The upgrades I plan on are a diesel computer chip, diesel exhaust, spray in bed liner, and chrome wheels. I want to keep the power there and once you start lifting, all that power goes away.

The best I could do as far as weight, was weigh myself on the bathroom scale, then weigh myself holding the bird and subtracting the difference. And I got 15# on this one as well.

I'm not totally into bragging about my income or how much I pay for things...but the sticker on this truck was $44,900(approx). It came with Allison transmission, Duramax motor, 4 wheel drive, fog lamps, camper mirrors, underbody skid plates, power seats windows and door locks, AM/FM-CD radio, XM radio, winter diesel cover, cloth inteior, LT trim. Now I had $6,000 equity from my blue truck, $3,500 in rebates, and $4,600 GM employee discount. I finanaced just under $30,000 for 60 months at 0%. I didnt really think I could go wrong there driving it off the lot and having equity. Thats to give you an idea. If it wasnt for my GM discount or the equity I had in my old truck, I wouldnt be driving this new truck

I only had 2 days to turkey hunt because of my job this year. I hunt state land and this year they made the unit that I hunt in bigger so that allowed more people to hunt the state land. I ended up getting the last hunt and after being hunted hard for 3 weeks straight, it made the hunting very difficult and frustrating. The first morning I only heard 2 gobbles right at fly down and not a thing the rest of the day. I set up in 4 different spots throughout the day with no luck. I drove around glassing the fields and the turkey behavior seemed out of season. There were toms flocked together with no hens, hens flocked together...and no strutting at all. It was almost as if they were in their winter routine. Tuesday morning I went to a different spot and heard a bird that was hot off the roost about 400 yards away. I closed the distance to about 60 yards and sat down and told my uncle to sit about 80 yards behind and do some calling. After sitting for 15 minutes a hen started to carry on in the roost so I mocked everything she did. Finally the gobbler flew down and stood on a ridge about 70 yards away gobbling at everything. Pretty soon 2 more long beards made their way onto the ridge with him and we had them gobbling at everything for about 15 minutes. Then as luck would have it, they started some machinery up at the junk yard on the other side of the woods and the birds spooked. As I was letting my temper get to me, I glanced to my left to see 4 different birds scooting by. I couldnt tell weather they were hens or toms....so I hit the call and just as I did...they made a u-turn and came right in. I seen they were all jakes but knew I probably wouldnt have another opportunity, so I shot the strutter. He wasnt a monster but I was happy with him and he will taste good.

Yup, the big blue truck is gone. She was going to start nickle and diming me here pretty soon and with all the rebates they had on the 2007 Classics, the equity I had on my blue truck, and the discounts I received being a GM employee......I decided the time was right. If I told you how much I actually paid for that truck which had a sticker of $45,000....you would probably be sick becuase I got it dirt cheap.

LOL, I had to go to the dealership today to have them swap tires on big blue for the trade in. The guy that works in service walks up to the window once I pull in the service door......the first thing out of his mouth is "are you gonna jack that new diesel up too?" I replied with silence and a smirk on my face. But to be honest, I will probably leave the 285's on it for quite awhile and probably add a nice set of chrome rims, a computer chip, and a new exhaust. I'm more less looking for performance out of this truck rather than height. A leveling/lift kit will be a ways down the road if I decide to do it. It will be kind of nice not having to replace front end parts twice a year for a change.

Well I managed to tag a jake this morning. It was the last morning I was going to be able to hunt this season. I'm fortunate I got him considering how lousy the hunting was. Out of 6 hunters, I was the only one who was able to fill a tag.

I went to the car/truck dealership today to look at new trucks. They didn't have exactly what I wanted in stock. But after a search on the web, my salesman found a truck that Had all the options I wanted. After a brief phone call, the truck will be here tomorrow and ready for me to pick-up Thursday. Its a 2007 2500HD Classic Allison Duramax diesel crew cab 4X4. I decided I had enough fun with my truck and it was time for somebody else to put some money into it. The 6.0 is a sweet looking truck...but its whats on the inside that counts.....thats why I went with the Duramax. I'll post pictures once I get it home.

I took one in on December 10th 2005 and never got him back until March of 2007. I took a turkey in to the same guy on April 28th of 2006 and still havnt heard anything on that. Maybe its just Michigan taxidermists....

Hmm....3 days before the season and I have a nasty respiratorial infection. Hopefully between the inhaler, pills, and syrup the doctor has me on, I'll feel good enough to go out Monday.

ditto. I think he tries to act more excited than he really is for the camera as well. People like him are just annoying to me.
