Good deal. I do believe only snow geese are in season here during the spring goose hunt. And it's only certain areas of the state.

Most replica mounts are done as a result of catch and release. I have never had a customer request a replica mount due to the fact they wanted to each their catch. Although I am sure a few others do.

Droptine49, this method is still used widely today and most preferred by the professionals, but is most time consuming but can have much better results and less chance of one cooking the skull with is never good.

I think a majority of those do in fact work out of a shop located within their home. I know I do.My shop is an addition built onto my house specifically for the taxidermy business. It has it's own heat source, running water and has it's own electric panel. I incur utility costs directly related to the shop along with a portion of my annual land taxes and a percentage of my home insurance policy is a result of the business. I do know some of those guys who replied in that thread have shops as big as my house located next to their homes. Maintenance cost is another expense most of us inquire annually. I know I do every year and will have to replace the roof over the shop this coming spring or summer.

I use a turkey fryer myself and it's done outside. I wouldn't plug that think in my house or shop for that matter. Too stinky and messy.

One of the major pipelines down the road from me was shut down for months for repair. I believe they just reopened it. Most of Central NY gets it propane from that line.

Man that story freaks me out. Holly crap ! Glad you survived. If I where you I'd put some buoys out there to mark the drop off and I also would be wearing a PFD while hunting that area like the ones that inflate when under water. They do come in camo.

This year was one of my worst.

Tanning is not that hard at all. There are many write ups on the net about doing it and a few youtube videos showing you the procedures. Basic steps to tanning are, fleshing hide, salting hide, pickling hide, neutralizing hide, tanning hide followed by drying and break-in.
