  1. Thanks Jim!! I just knew having an industry insider such as yourself on the payroll would be a good thing.. Ya need to put the bug in his ear about getting more handgun hunts on tape. He's Thompson / Centers hunting show personality... I don't know if he still has any real stroke with the company since S&W bought them out though. hangunnr
  2. Don't be shy about shopping the used market. I've saved thousands buying used. I only buy scopes that have lifetime warranties. With some prudent shopping you can come across some real bargins. hangunnr
  3. Sent a 357Max barrel back to T/C because of chamber issues. This barrel wasn't listed in their current inventory so they custom made a new replacement. Thankyou T/C!! hangunnr
  4. I did see you said gunleather but I kinda just thought you were using a generic term for a holster. Here are three types of leather holsters I've used over the years. I currently use a Blade Tech molded kydex type these days when carrying a 1911. First off is a Hellweg model #220A. A nice looking rock solid rig. Second is a Galco SOB 26. This holster puts the gun butt up in the small of your back. A very secure concealment holster. It offers good coverage of the gun to protect it's finish. Last is a Bianchi model #19. This holster sits the gun a little high on the hip and features a positive retention thumb snap. I've never had a paddle holster made of leather but do use a Blade Tech kydex paddle holster some of the time. I like the easy on / off of the paddle holster but they aren't near as secure as a holster held on by your belt. hangunnr
  5. Are you wanting leather or synthetic? hangunnr
  6. When your gun was new the screw holes for the scope mount had plug screws installed from the factory. If you by chance still have those they'll work just fine. If you don't have those you can buy plug screws from Brownells. http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=792&title=PLUG%20SCREW%20KIT The thread size is 6-48. hangunnr
  7. I get such a kick out of drivel like this... After seeing who some of the contributing writers are on his site I think I'll pass on any info gleaned from there... hangunnr
  8. Hey Don, I wonder how many of those rifles that the guys had trouble loading were CRF. Sure would've been easy to toss a round into a Remmy or Browning and just close the bolt. Can you think of a place I could start a fire with this post....LMAO... hangunnr
  9. Always good to have new blood... hangunnr
  10. Any of the above would be good choices. You may want to stick with a "standard" magnum cartridge as some of the newer ones might not be available everywhere if something happens and your ammo gets seperated from your gear. If it were me looking for a new moose level cartridge I'd go with a 375H&H. FWIW hangunnr
  11. Here's some boys livin way off the porch... Looks like it would be a riot to run that course. hangunnr
  12. The 308 is a great round........for a pistol.... hangunnr

  14. Yep, all in fun... Strut, Can you imagine the nightmares the Scopers would have if they saw we can actually walk the walk too.... hangunnr

  17. Sorry, I forgot about him. Guess he felt so bad over his transgressions that he had to go hide in the desert out west... hangunnr
  18. Look down about 4 threads... hangunnr
  19. 50 members....too kewl... Welcome SS hangunnr
  20. The ML / shotgun scopes are set parallax free at shorter distances than traditional rifle scopes. Other than that there is no problem whatsoever using a rifle scope on a ML. hangunnr
  21. Nice find. I may well add a 375 to the fold this year. hangunnr
  22. That's too bad. I was hoping you'd come back with pictures. BTW, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it... hangunnr
  23. Not at all. Sniping squirrles is the bread and buttrer of pure handgunning. Well done!! hangunnr

Didn't know they made the mini 14 in 6-08. Are you sure of the chambering? The 6-08 is basically the same as a 243 Win. hangunnr
