  2. I would opt for the Redhawk. It's a heavier gun that handles the recoil much better than the lighter Blackhawk. I don't care for the way the single actions tend to roll upwards during recoil. FWIW... hangunnr
  3. That's a Persian Mauser. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.aliparsa.com/brno/crest.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.aliparsa.com/brno/brno.html&h=332&w=300&sz=51&hl=en&start=3&tbnid=A7ku_Pmzm2VOkM:&tbnh=119&tbnw=108&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmauser%2Bcrest%2Bmarks%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff Post up a picture if you would. hangunnr
  4. A crush....Moi?.... not really, besides I can't afford to feed her...LMAO...that $40 a day habit she has is too much for me... As far as the next road trip goes....hmmmm, gonna have to come up with a good one. hangunnr
  5. That is Ray Stafford... JJL looks more like Rachel Ray than Ray Stafford...LMAO... hangunnr
  6. Happy birthday Jan!! Hope you have a fantastic day. hangunnr
  7. I used 221 brass and necked it up to 30 cal. Unless you go with a supressed barrel it's still gonna be loud even with the heavy weight bullets. hangunnr
  8. Thanks for the offer there Don but I think the 6.5hp engine will have more power... hangunnr
  9. Check this relic out... It's a 1955 Cizek Manufacturing brush mower. It's been cobbled back together several times as is evident with some of the hillbilly engineering it currently sports. The frame is mechanically sound as are the deck controls and drive mechanism. The 6hp Wisconsin engine has given up the ghost and will be replaced with a 6.5hp Briggs & Stratton. I'm gonna bring this ole girl back to life... hangunnr
  10. Done and done.... Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone... hangunnr
  11. I had a 300 Whisper barrel for my Contender pistol. I had a heck of a time getting any kinda life out of the brass. I bet I averaged less than 1.5 reloads before suffering head seperation issues. SSK made the barrel for me when I was competing in the Masters handgun competition. It's a wondefully accurate round and would be a hoot in a supressed bolt gun or a single shot for that matter. hangunnr
  12. I tracked down the ballistics on this round..... It consists of 1150 .40 cal tungsten shot with a muzzle velocity of 4500fps. Some serious stuff... hangunnr
  13. Sometimes basic black really works. I had wood furniture on this barrel at first but it just wasn't right. When Indiana changed the law to allow us to carry handguns during the archery season I really got the itch for a short barreled 357 Mag. When Bullberry had their holiday special last fall I got my chance at the barrel I wanted. Well, I finally got around to getting the G2 rubber grip, forend and the scope base together to complete the package. I really like the no nonsense look of this one. The Leupy 2X will work for now but will likely be replaced with some sort of small electronic sight in the future. Should be just the right medicine for those darn yotes that pollute my farm... hangunnr
  14. Welcome John!! Glad to have you aboard. hangunnr
  15. Leo, your numbers don't jive with the ballistic programs I have. I punched in a 150gr Barnes MRX BT at 3000fps launch speed. With a 500yd zero there would be another 240" (yep 20ft) of drop at 1000yds and a paultry 504ftlb of energy... I'd be right suprised to see a factory A-Bolt shoot hunting grade bullets well enough to do much of anything at 1000yds or meters for that matter... I'm with doubleA on this one. Keep the Nightforce and put your money into a Rem 700 in either 7WSM or 300WSM... hangunnr
  16. I dunno know Don, we might have to let this one in.... hangunnr
  17. I was thinking this was more of a 10' gun not a 10yd gun... hangunnr
  18. Well Spike King, I don't know about 300's out of Dons 375 but I know you'll be able to run some 500's out of my 458WM if you want to... There aint much that'll compare to launching 500grs at 1800fps out of a handgun......or rifle for that matter... Wish I could of been there to meet y'all. Looks like you guys had fun. hangunnr
  19. As much as I hate to say it it's ultimately your fault for not policing your ammo. I always make sure exactly what's going on when one of my friends is shooting one of my firearms. There shouldn't be any harm done to your rifle. I'd give it a good chamber cleaning and a visual once over. Be happy no one got hurt. hangunnr
  20. That would make a darned interesting car gun. For up close and personal use it should fill the bill nicely. hangunnr
  21. You guys have fun.. I wish I could be there but it just wasn't in the cards this time... Take lotsa pictures. hangunnr
  22. Congrats!! I see you got the picture thing down... hangunnr
  23. A fine lookin collection. My guess on the case would be seal skin. hangunnr
  24. Nope, wish we could use them here though. Used my Win SX2 with a CnC XXXfull tube and Winchester Supreme #6 extended range shells. Good job on your first!! You can email me the pix and I'll be happy to post them for you. hangunnr
  25. Good going Don!! Nice bird and good pix... hangunnr
