  13. I will be in 80/81 for the first rifle season. Not for sure exactly where yet, going with a group that has a spot they always go to.
  14. It was a behind the shoulder shot, so the neck spot isn't that. I honestly don't remember if that spot was on the buck alive or not. I had it in the freezer for a couple of years, then a rookie taxidermist did the work. So, I guess it could of been anything. On second thought, It was a neck shot from 300 yards, facing me, with an OTPG gun, no problem.:D:D
  15. Got the mount back of the 8 pointer that my son took last year. Here it is hanging on the wall of my office. Below that is the mount of an 8 that I took quite a while ago. Jake's Mine

  17. Jake and I decided to try and dodge some of the rain yesterday evening and go out and see if we could run across some hogs. After we got to the ranch, the first place we headed to was a sendero with a feeder down about 150 yards. I told Jake we would just ease by and if there were any hogs there we would stop out of sight and put a stalk on them. As we drove by we saw one pretty good sized black hog there. I went on about another 30 yards, stopped the truck, we got our guns out and started sneaking through the woods. When we got about 50 yards from the hog, I eased out to make sure it was still there and then motioned to Jake to move up to a small tree and use it to get a good shot. Well the tree just did not match him too well, and I almost busted out laughing watching him try to find a good rest, first he just tried standing up, then he bent over and it still didn't fit him, then he got on his knees and due to the tall grass he couldn't get a shot that way, so finally he stood on his tippy-toes and was able to bend a branch over enough that he could get lined up on it. After getting a steady aim, he pulled the trigger and I heard that great sound of the bullet hitting the animal and knew that he had made a good shot. I saw the direction the hog ran, and after about 30 seconds we heard him kicking and grunting. Jake made a perfect behind the shoulder shot, which resulted in the hog running about 30 yards before expiring. Here are a couple of pics.
  18. Sorry to hear this Chris, you got'em from here.

  20. I am really dissapointed that he got that hit last night. Because my son and I have tickets to Sat.'s game and I was really wanting it to happen then. Biggio is a class act, and deserves the credit he is getting. It was touching to see the way all his family, teammates and finally Bagwell come out and congratulate him.

    Roadkill

Coming in to work this morning, I ran over something lying in the road. I thought I knew what it was, so I made a u-turn and went back to have a look, and I was right. Looked like this guy was headed towards a house about 30 yards away. He was about 2 - 2.5 foot.
  22. Elder Eury takes leadership post at JR Motorsports Former DEI crew chief named director of competition The article is on nascar.com
  23. Here is Chad Knaus's resume. Anybody see a pattern In '06, at Daytona, it was a rear window that brought Knaus a mandatory four-week vacation. In '05, Knaus was suspended two races and the team docked 25 points for having the car's roof too low at Las Vegas although in appeal, his suspension was lifted. In '03, at the Coca-Cola 600, Johnson's car had an unapproved fuel system and Knaus was fined $2,500 after winning the race. In '02, a 25-point deduction and $25,000 fine for Knaus at the Daytona July race for offsetting bolts. Maybe time to take a deeper look into the problem.
  24. Dangerous lil critters there, good thing you had something big enough to take care of them.
