A man in Topeka, Kansas, decided to write a book about churches around the country. He started by flying to San Francisco and started working east from there. Going to a very large church he began taking photographs and making notes. He spotted a golden telephone on the vestibule wall and was intrigued with a sign that read, "$10,000 per minute." Seeking out the pastor, he asked about the phone and the sign. The pastor answered that the golden phone is, in fact, a direct line to Heaven, and if he pays the price, he can talk directly to God. The man thanked the pastor and continued on his way. As he continued to visit churches in Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver, Chicago, Milwaukee, and around the United States, he found more such phones with the same sign and the same explanation from each pastor. Finally, the man arrived in the great state of Texas. Upon entering a church, behold, he saw the usual golden telephone. But THIS time, the sign read: "Calls: 25 cents"!? Fascinated, the man asked to speak with the pastor. "Reverend, I have been in cities all across the country and in each church I have found this golden telephone, and have been told it is a direct line to Heaven, and that I could use it to talk to God.... But in 20 other churches, the cost was $10,000 per minute. Your sign says 25 cents per call. .Why is that? The pastor, smiling kindly, replied: "Son, you're in Texas now and it's a local call."

NASCAR made stewart issue a statement today basically saying he was wrong for saying what he said. They also fined him 10G's for skipping the media after last weeks race and put him on probation until Dec. 31. This just makes nascar look all the more like a joke to me. somebody says something we don't like so we will fine you and put you on probation. And you wonder where the puppets come from.

You are probably not going to have much luck in trying to find a place to hunt by just getting permission. But, there are numerous ranches that charge a nominal fee to let you hunt because they want to get rid of the hogs also. I will do a little research for you and post up some info. A couple of things you need to know. You will need a current Texas hunting license. If you were born after 1971 you will need a hunters ed cert. On feral hogs there is not a limit of how many you can take other than what the ranch limits you to. On javelinas, the limit is 2 per year (license year). Open season on both night or day.

Apparently it isn't completely necessary to have a CCW license in order to have a gun on campus now. Trust me, there are guns on all campuses now. The students that take the time and put forth the energy to get a CCW (besides us lucky ones in Texas born with them) for the most part are not going to be your trouble making students. The ones that are problems don't care if they have a license or not. They are still going to be problems. Not to many of your big time partiers/drunks are going to go to the trouble of getting a license.

What I gathered was he was ordered by the judge to be committed, but never showed up or went, therefore, nothing was on his record. It's ashame he didn't have an accident while making his film and pictures and blow his own head off then.

I STRONGLY have to disagree with your view point!!!! In a country that has never had guns this may be true. But in the US, you could pass and try to enforce any and every gun law you want, but, the criminals are not going to turn in there guns, instead they will just use them that much more knowing that there are no guns in the houses at night to be used against them. I believe your law abiding citizens should be able to be armed if they so desire. The subject of this debate had a history, but nothing was done about it. But even then, you are going to occasionally have nut cases with no troubles with the law that will go over the edge and do something crazy. Just hope the next time it happens, one of the armed law abiding citizens is around and does something about it.

On the bush/Jr. incident, I think bush had just watched Days of Thunder before the race started.

I like this new look. If everyone will just have a little patience, I am sure all the bugs will be worked out. I think most everyone will find out this change is for the better.

Re: Mikey\'s troubles continue! I am not sympathetic, but I do believe in innocent until proven guilty. You have to remember to him having a wreck is probably not that big of a deal, like it is to your normal joe. Remeber the lacrosse guys, everybody wanted to hang them, but that has turned out a little different than what the media first reported.

Re: Really great Ebay Transaction! I have over a 1500 feedback rating. I sell a lot of items. Buy a few, but mostly sell. Have only had a couple of bad transactions, where buyers did not pay for items, which really isn't a problem. All of my purchases have been good. I do get the occaisional scam emails from ebay & paypal, but I know those are coming and just delete them and report it to ebay/paypal.
