  1. elk results posted. Just PP for us. Good luck
  2. This isn't like the common sense test that was on here not to long ago, this is more about current (semi-current) events in the world. I got 10 out of 11 correct. Test Your News IQ Q1 - Pew Research Center
  3. The part I didn't sleep through was pretty boring.
  4. Figured this was one of those typical Good Bye, I am leaving the forums threads. You will be back just like the rest of them. You can't stay away.:cowboy: Seriously, I think in this instance you can put me in the non-believer column.
  5. I made it at least a mile before it got over 55. I didn't pull a trailer for the first 500 or more miles, more out of circumstances than anything though. The only break in I did if you will for the first couple hundred miles was made sure I didn't just drive a constant speed. I tried to vary between 65 and 80. Don't know if that is good or not, but that is the way I have always done it. My 2001 gas had about 270K, my 2006 is at 198K, so I guess it works for me. By the way, Congrats on the new truck. The waiting for it to come in is the hard part.
  6. I have been through El Indio, think that saloon is gone, along with just about everything else in town. It was the short cut to the casino at Eagle Pass. Wish it would of been gone too. By the way, don't mess with the old timers.
  7. What do you think?
  8. good deal!!!! Can't wait for the stories and pics/video
  9. I got my 2500 in August of last year. I have 32,000 on it. I have towed my 31 travel trailer a few times with it, did as expected. Likes: Integrated trailer brake system, exhaust brake, plenty of power, remote start, A/C controls are better than my 2006, easy to shut tailgate (light feeling), no exhaust smoke, quiet, 265 tires instead of 245's, mileage around town 16.5, on the highway at 75 - 80, 17 - 18, towing pretty much any of my trailers 12 - 14, if it would go slower, mileage would probably increase some. Dislikes, compared to my 2006: The biggest is the steering wheel controls are not user friendly, the outside temp guage has issues, but Shaun told me that it is working the way it was designed and more importantly how to re-set it when needed, no exhaust smoke, no A/C vents for back seat, seats not as comfortable, lack of side pockets/storage areas inside. The DEF is not that big of a deal to me. I normally change my oil when it gets to about 50% which is normally around 5,000 miles. The tank holds 5 gals of DEF, I usually put in 3 to 4 gallons. It is not constant and seems to vary depending on the type of driving I am doing. If I could have my choice, I would like the power of the new truck with the interior of my 2006. If you have any questions throw them out there, I will try to answer.
  10. Utah has started hitting credit cards and the backdoor for the elk draw in Colorado is up for those of you interested. I am in for just points in both states so my interest is waning. Come on NM.
  11. Have a safe trip and have fun.
  12. Don't you mean rookie of the year? To be a come back player, you first had to be there.
  13. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!! Be sure to get us some pictures and a great story.
  14. :happybday::happybday::happybday:
  15. We are the opposite here. On our job we have had 0.2 inches in the last thirty days, which is not a bad thing for our work and in the last 60 days we have a total of 0.55 inches. To say it is kind of dry may be an understatement. We do have a 30% chance of some rain this afternoon & evening though.
  16. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!! When does he get his first Realtree Camo outfit????
  17. The regs for this years deer and sheep (along with a few others) in Arizona are out.. http://www.azgfd.gov/pdfs/h_f/regulations/ArizonaHuntTrapregulations_2011-12.pdf
  18. 9 here also. Could of sworn Moses had that ark.
  19. Post up your favorite outdoor photos that you have taken. They can be with animals in them or just scenery type of photos. Only one rule, you can not be in them. I will start it with a few of mine. Somewhere in Colorado. Also in Colorado Jake in a creek in OK. Camp setup in NM Some Texas scenery And finally my two favorites. Jacob right after killing his first deer at age 9 and then posing with it.
  20. I think the smiles say it all. Congrats to both of you.
  21. I don't bow hunt, so I have really never paid attention to the bow tags. I sure someone will chime in soon with an answer to that.
  22. I think Colorado is what you are looking for. Over the counter bull tags in most of the state for second and third season. Colorado also has a lot of information on how to hunt. Take a look at this page on their website EHU "Lessons," 2010 - Colorado Division of Wildlife They call it their elk hunting universe. It started last year and that is where the link takes you, and have a second course for this year.
  23. Just like the "if you could" threads, I love how you started them, but don't put in your details.... course, it may not be safe for this topic to procede like the "if you could" threads did:p I don't think I have ever told anybody this story. It was in either 5th or 6th grade, my father had an army buddy from Florida come over and visit. He just happened to be a preacher. It is true what they say about preacher's daughters, she basically attacked me. I surrendered and let her have her way.
