This morning, while out turkey hunting, I ran across this little dude. I bumped into him as I was heading back to my truck. I was heading back to my truck after having bumped a 150-ish lb. black bear. I bumped the bear because, I believe, the wind swirled a bit. The wind swirled as I was skirting the bear in an attempt to get some pics or footage of him. I was attempting to get a pic of him because I spied him cross a small clearing and head down one of our woods roads............... ...... The SAME woods road that Lucky is laying on !!! The bear came out of the clearing in the background of the pic and walked RIGHT down the road !! I was paralleling the bear on a field edge 40 or so yards to the left of the road and got ahead of him. I seriously snapped this pic 45-60 seconds after the bear winded me and took off. One LUCKY little dude !!!!!!!!

Yep Saw one tagging along behind momma this past Saturday.

I've patterned 4's, 5's and 6's in 3 1/2" through an Indian Creek tube in my Super X3.............................. INCREDIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!

We hit 90 or 91 today !!! Pretty good since it was snowing the first of LAST week !!! 'Bout time we get some nice weather. I absolutely WILL NOT complain about it being hot here EVER. I LOVE IT !!!!!

I am convinced that this winter was REALLY hard on the turkeys here. Have found no evidence of dead birds yet. But the numbers are WAY down. We HAVE found at least 3 winter-killed deer. So I fear the turkeys took a beating too.

I don't know what it is but it is getting aggravating. Can't get a whole lot worse so it must be gonna get better.

Spent a few days in Texas hill country last week. It was my first trip there and I soon found out that Algerita and Tasajiah are NOT the names of a couple cute Texas gals. And along with Prickly pear, and pretty much everything else that grows out of the ground makes a sack of 6 penny nails look like a feather pillow. But every so often, if you look............ ......... You'll find there really IS gold at the end of some rainbows. My first ever Rio !! 20 lbs, 1 3/16" spurs, triple beard 10", 4" and 3 3/4" And the pecan tree where he met his match....... And my 2nd ever Rio !! Just a DANDY 2 year old at 18 lbs, 3/4" spurs and a 9" rope. He looked absolutely STUNNING in full strut in that Texas sunrise !!! Overall one of the absolute best 3 days of turkey hunting I have had in a LONG time !!!!!!!
