  3. Re: Oklahoma deer [ QUOTE ] Ryan I have been watching 12 big bucks here and they still all have head gear... [/ QUOTE ] PICS PICS, WE NEED PICS!
  4. Re: Oklahoma deer [ QUOTE ] the buck at the zoo im sure is getting ample nutrients it needs to hold those horns on longer. The feed definately has a lot to do with how long they hold their horns [/ QUOTE ] I was going to mention that, but forgot. Very true though....
  5. Just a post of what the OK deer are doing. Went to the zoo with my GF yesterday and the whitetail buck there still had both sides. Shouldn't be long before our bucks start dropping, I'd think.
  6. Re: Should I become pro-staff? I doubt it at this point. Too much work for too little reward. I have a lot of ties in the outdoor industry and will wait for something better to come along.
  7. Re: Here\'s a pic of my Giant Canada mount!! Nice Lesser!!!
  8. Re: Should I become pro-staff? The company is Ol' Tom.
  9. Re: Should I become pro-staff? I get 2 hats, 2 shirts, 2 decals, and I get to field test and keep 1 product (worth $30-$100). I guess I could try it for a year and quit doing it if I didn't like it. Selling their products seems like a lot, but I wouldn't mind promoting them........still thinking. I like the idea that being pro-staff for one company means another might see that and want me on their pro-staff. Never know what kind of career opportunities could turn up.
  10. I have the opportunity to become a "field expert" for a company in this region of the US, but with the title comes some responsibility. First off, I have to sell or solicit $300 worth of their products at associate pricing, then I have to earn so many points per year to stay on. Earning points consists of working shows, submitting stories, photos, etc...The worst part about all of this is finding time. I'm going to school and working 3 PT jobs right now, but it should slow down quite a bit within the next month. I talked to my GF about it and she isn't really crazy about the idea because she thinks I will be gone a lot, which I told her I really won't at all. What are some of the other perks of becoming a "pro staff" member? Should I do it?
  11. Re: Black mask Check out Bass Pro's Enduraskin masks. They have them in black.
  12. Re: Where to go? Funny several of you mention camping. I was really considering going camping, since I haven't done that in a LONG time. Actually, I was thinking about going down to the Broken Bow area. I was also wishing I had a 4-wheeler, like Kevin mentioned. Still looking at my options.........
  13. Looking for a short 1-3 day vacation within a few hours drive of NE Oklahoma.....but NOT Branson, MO. (been there too many times as it is.) I need a break from school and my 3 jobs. Not looking for a hunting trip or anything, just a short, fairly inexpensive, getaway. Maybe even just some ideas of something I could go do/see???
  14. Re: **Happy with mount, upset about one thing*** Most do a Y-cut, only about half way down the back of the neck, not the full length.
  15. Re: Deer Hunting with a .22cal Rifle [ QUOTE ] Illegal here in Oklahoma,,too many deer wounded and not recovered by spotlighters with small caliber [/ QUOTE ] Correction. .22 RIMFIRE is illegal...not a .22 centerfire. It just states that the bulet must be at least 55grain soft-nosed or hollow point bullet havin an overall cartrige case length of 1 1/4 inches or longer. I will say that I think a .22 cal can kill a deer effectively. I killed a deer in '05 with a .22-205. Right behind the shoulder, ran 20 yards and fell over dead as a hammer. What is it that kills the deer?? The size of the bullet, the speed?? What makes it INEFFECTIVE, other than "it's too small"? I think the shooter makes it ineffective.
  16. Re: Got Crocs????? I have 2 pair. Some black ones and some camo ones. The camo ones are my favorite! I have the $20 Airwalk brand from payless....and yes...they're comfortable!
  17. Re: Super Elite turkey vest $30 TYD Or trade for a turkey hunt!!
  18. Just got a new vest and don't need my old one. One of the front right pockets has a tear in it from crossing a barb wire fence. Still a good pocket for gloves, facemask, etc...plus there are PLENTY of other pockets in this vest. Size is XL-2XL. Used for 3 seasons I think. The last picture is a pic of the tear. Could probably be sewed up???? How about $35 to your door??? Let me know if I'm too high....
  19. Re: Decent buck Nice buck!! Almost identical to the one I shot this past year. Score around 110".
  20. Re: Owl locator call? The Power Owl is the best owl locator I have found. I have the Hoot Flute and the Power Owl. I pretty much just use the Power Owl. Most guys just don't know how to use it. Cover the end so you can get back pressure (like using a short reed goose call). I love the power owl because you can do the monkey chatter and really get those hot toms FIRED UP!!
  21. Re: After whitening a skull?? Yes Swampy....just rinse it off. I used an old toothbrush to help get the dried stuff off. I put a couple more coats on after the first one.

  23. Re: \'06 Mount (pics) Thanks for the compliments! The dirt is real (mix water and Elemers glue with the dirt and it dries hard) some of the grass is real, some is fake. The leaves are real, but they're preserved. I'd have to add up all the costs involved, but I'd guess somewhere around $75 total, but i could do SEVERAL more of these things with the leftover materials I have. I bought WAY more than I needed. I have some neat ideas for room decorations though, after seeing what Bass Pro has done in their stores......
