You are on a snow goose hunt and have a nice group of 30+ birds coming into the decoys. You pick out a bird and drop it. You swing for another shot and two white geese are together--you take aim and the closest (snow) shoot and drop it and the bird behind it. Dog picks up the 3rd birds and brings back a speckle belly--oops. Question: Do you leave the bird in the field as specks are out of season and you don't want to get caught with it? So now are you guilty of wanton and waste? So you take the bird as to not waste it and take the chance of getting caught shooting a bird out of season? todd

Re: What should I plant in this spot (pic) looks to me what you planted is doing well--don't know if I'd change a thing. If you are wanting to plant something very attractive for fall/winter hunting I would stick to the cereal grains such as wheat or rye. I don't think it gets enough sunlight or big enough for corn. Better off putting a corn feeder there if you want corn.
