    More Quackers

Re: More Quackers congrats on the gaddies.
  6. Re: NO beats Philly i enjoyed all the games this weekend. A great weekend for football.
  7. A great regular season coach but not in the post season. I don't know if it is bad luck or poor coaching. Guy just can't catch a break in the playoffs. todd
  8. Re: illinois morning hunt [ QUOTE ] if you read the post he isn't in the pic, he didn't want to be in the pic because of the way we are posed. [/ QUOTE ] I don't blame him congrats on the honkers.
  9. Re: January Photo Assignment Plain as Day Another day in the blind.
  10. Re: Bought another DVD always something to learn.
  11. Re: Michael Waddell Joins Gander Mt Pro Staff i wouldn't think this would affect Michael's relationship with RT at all or his show. Just more advertisement for Gander Mountain. Lot's of pro's are on different Pro Staffs. He's on Hoyt's pro-staff while the David and Bill are on Mathews staff. Just more income for him and more exposure for Gander Mountain--a win-win situation. A reward for being popular and working hard. congrats to Michael todd

    Working

Re: Working [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] loo--will think of you while watching the FB today. [/ QUOTE ] now I hate you.... [/ QUOTE ] hey--what are friends for
  13. A very chilly morning--WC factor below 10. Ice dropping from the sky. Had 2 gaddys come in early---safety frozen. Then I called in 4 geese and totally blew that shot. The wind kept shifting on me and the geese didn't come in like I expected but still should have put one down. hopefully this winter storm will move a few ducks in for the last two weeks of season. todd

    Working

Re: Working loo--will think of you while watching the FB today.
  15. Re: A very expensive doggy snack..... [ QUOTE ] lol.. ever seen metal bra snaps Todd? My dog ate my ex wifes bra and they showed up plain as day in the xray. Funny stuff. The dog did not think so though. [/ QUOTE ] I've never removed a bra but I have removed a Victoria Secrets thong out of a dog before. Should have seen the look on the girls face when I showed her what I removed---didn't know there were that many shades of red
  16. Re: Team 5 hunterfisherman---please don't forget to post your deer in the entry thread. Also don't forget the pic of your tag. We are up by one point right now but really need those points. We are only up by one point with Team Hammertime right on our tails. I believe they still have a few hunters trying to increase their point totals. congrats again to all team members.
  17. Re: Congrats to Indy [ QUOTE ] I agree no one gave them a chance. But what a boring game! [/ QUOTE ] unless you're a fan of defense.
  18. Re: bio-logic did you just broadcast the seed on top of the ground or work it in? A light rain when broadcasted in a no-till method is great--a heavy rain (especially if on an incline) will have a tendency to wash away a lot of the seeds. I've planted several of the biologic mixes and they have all germinated very well--the only one I've had no luck with is Full Draw. It came up great but the deer never touched it. todd
  19. Re: Ice Storm no electric so far we still have power and a lot of ice.
  20. Re: Team 5 awesome buck Texas--congrats!
  21. Re: Hows your spreads i don't really set up the X or J---I usually set up a couple family groups in the water--not too tight-- couple families on the left and a couple on the right--with a nice landing hole in the middle. I might put one lone hen in front of me--she's the one doing the calling
  22. Believe it or not this is the second time I've had to remove this 5ct diamond ring out of this dog's gut.
  23. Re: need some advice [ QUOTE ] The first step in my view is to get control of the deer herd/population with your harvest management and development of good cover [/ QUOTE ] I couldn't agree more. That sometimes can be very difficult for free ranging deer--depending on the size of land, the number of hunters, and the state's limit of does.
  24. Re: red dot or scope another vote for the red dot.
  25. Re: need some advice if you want to increase deer quality--(antler size, body weight. fawn growth--then warm season high protein food plots are your first step. You can plant annuals whcih could include: soybeans. peas (iron and clay peas, lablab) high protein perennials would include clover, trefoil, alfalfa, chicory. Your cool season plants will help the deer maintain body weight thru the stresses of rut and winter--thus be in better shape when fawns are dropping and antlers are growing. These would include your cereal grains (wheat, oats, rye), brassicas (turnips) and austrian winter peas. Do you have equipment such as tractor and disc to get started?
