Re: Team ThunderStrut (#24)
I went out quick this morning before work. Unfortunately I did not hear or see anything. I think I will try again on Wednesday.
Re: Team ThunderStrut (#24)
The New York Season also opens on May 1st and I will be in Virginia the first weekend. I think I will be trying to get out before work a couple of day so I do not go crazy. I do not think I can wait until the second weekend (5/13).
Re: Drives=Fair Chase?
I personally think drives are completely fair chase. Over the last 12 years I have been part of hundreds of organized drives consisting of anywhere from 2 to 15 people. They can be very productive and provide for some great times in hunting camp. Over the years countless deer have elooded us. Not because of a poor shot but because they tend to be very intelligent and capable of finding a way around the drivers and watchers. Just this past season I watched a 150 class buck sneak between 2 watchers with neither one knowing the deer was there.
Re: My 2005 doe..(165 Pounds)
A few years ago I shot a doe that dressed out at 145 lbs. I know how big that doe was and can only imagine what 20 lbs would do. Was yours 165 lbs dressed out?
Re: Team ThunderStrut (#24)
Congrats flyrod64... The NY season opens on the 1st of May. Hopefully I will be able to add one to the board shortly after that.
Re: Drive-In Theater
We have a 3 Screen Drive-in Theater in my town and a 2 Screen Drive-In about 25 miles away. We try to go at least one or twice each summer.
I have a pest that is destroying a tree in my yard. Since I live in the village I can only use an airgun. I currently have a 15 year old Crossman Airgun and was think of upgrading. What are you using? Gun, Scope, Ammo, etc..
Thanks
Re: Line X or Rhino spray in?
Rhino stays flexible when it dries and Line-X will get hard like a rock. Because of this the Rhino Liner will not crack. I have had both and would only recommend the Rhino Liner.
Re: lumiknock
Last night on TV Ted Nugent was hunting at the YO Ranch with Lumiknocks. When he shot you could clearly see the knock glowing through the air and right into the Sika Deer. It was pretty neat to see.
Re: Using a climbing Tree Stand as..
I also have a Tree Lounge. I have never used it as a fixed stand but have thought about doing that many times. I love sitting in it but hate setting up & climbing. It is great to hear others suggestions for using it as a fixed stand. I usually just drive in with my ATV and set it up at the base of a tree and leave it there so I do not have to be constantly packing it in and setting it up. However I still have to climb with it.
Re: Who still drags their own deer
I usually drag by hand a short distance to one of the trails we have cut then either use the loader on the tractor or the box on the JD Gator.
Re: Have you been scuba diving?
I went scuba diving last fall off the coast of Honduras. Went down about 70 feet. It was absolutely amazing to see the coral reef in person. Even managed to get fairly close to a couple barracuda.
