  1. Hello everyone... Just checking in. The NY season opens on May 1st.
  2. NY Hunting Season is Over... Well the NY Hunting Season is over and unfortunately I was not able to connect on another buck so I guess my archery buck is my entry for this years contest.
  3. After 2.5 weeks of the NY Gun season I have shot a buck and a doe. Unfortunately the buck was not bigger than my archery buck so no more points for the team.
  4. Saturday (11/15) is opening day of the New York Shotgun Deer season. Hopefully I can top my archery 8 point. I have 2 weeks off from work so I should be able to spend plenty of time in the woods.

    1st Goose

I shot my first goose ever yesterday morning. It was my first time goose hunting and it was a lot of fun.
  6. User Name: NY_GUN Team: #14 Freak Nasty Here is the 8 Point Buck (13 Team Points) I shot on 11/3/2008. I marked him as a 9 point on my harvest tag but I do not think the broken G2 on his left side is long enough for the contest.
  7. 8 Point Last night I shot an 8 Point. He would of been a 9 Point but he broke off a couple tines. I will try and get a picture of the tag tonight and add him to the entry thread. Here are a couple pictures:
  8. This is just crazy... I have hunted with a shotgun my entire life (with & without a scope) and I would never go back to rife sites. A scope will allow you to ensure you are aiming exactly were you would like the slug to hit. It will also allow you to find that one opening through the brush. As for the scope... I could not agree more with the comments that have been made. Ensure you buy a scope that is made for a shotgun. A slug produces a lot more recoil than a rife bullet.
  9. No. I am only using the Camo on the sides. I took the gun rest off the stand.
  10. Congratulation! That is a great buck. Hopefully a few more of us can have the luck you have had this season.
  11. It is a great stand! I purchased mine last January when our Dick's Sporting Goods had them on sale for $119. 3 guys & a tractor bucket were used to put mine up. But I am sure 2 guys could of done it.
  12. Two weeks from tomorrow the NY season opens!
  13. You have to look under motorcycles.
  14. 2001 Arctic Cat 500 LE 4x4 2004 GM Sierra Z71 4x4 2005 John Deere 2210 4x4 w/ Loader, MMM, & iMatch
  15. I know this might sound silly but you might want to try the Remington Sluggers. My father got a new 870 last winter and we have tried every sabot we could find and the Sluggers have constantly provided the best groups (5 slugs on top of each other @ 75 yards). I am sure they will not be accurate at really long distance but in WNY where we hunt you rarely get a shot longer than 75 yards. And the best part is they are cheep to shoot.
  16. Have you looked in the yellow pages to hire someone to remove them? I had 3 stumps to remove. I looked in the yellow pages, called the first guy in my area. He came out that day with a tow behind stump grinder and removed all 3 stumps in 30 min for $120. The stumps were around 30 inches in diameter. The grinder he had was HUGE.
  17. Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42 - Best I have seen at what I thought was a reasonable price.
  18. All of the bucks I have seen in Western NY over the last week to 10 days are out of velvet.
  19. I also shoot the Winn Free Flight. However, mine is not the relax release.
  20. I do the exact same thing. I always practice with my Muzzy broadheads and just switch the blades out before opening day.
