Checking in Thought I'd go ahead and check in. Got alot of turkeys this year and hopefully the weather will be better than last year. Our season opens April 6th. We get off opening day for good friday this year, so I should get a jump on a few hunters anyhow. GOOD LUCK TO ALL !!!!!!!!!!

We are takeing a vacation trip down to Destin, FL and was wanting to find someone from around there to find out the best places to go to fishing or aligator hunting, maybe with our bows. Well it was alot of fun guys. I think if Todd makes it back from where ever he is in time to post his 9 point we should win. I PMed him but no answer. I sure hope and pray something bad has happened. Hey Todd your deer hasn't been counted yet. Have you entered it yet?

My son and I had gone out early this morning and the fog was terrible couldn't see more than 50 yards for 3 hours. That didn't stop the deer from moveing though. I passed on more deer today than I have all season. I took my shotgun to the same stand I got my big ten earlier this year. Hadn't ever shot a deer with it and my son was useing my Savage .270 on the pipeline. He had crossed the pipeline where my son was hunting on the other end of the forty, he texted me that there was a heavy horned buck comeing my way. Ended up being a 7 with some stickers broke off. Still proud of him though. Didn't figure he was gonna make anything more since he was atleast 3 and maybe 4 years old. I shot him with my slug gun 870 Rifled slug barrel, Hornady SST slugs. That slug sure did a number on him. Went about 75yrds and died in a wheat field. First deer I have taken with my shotgun, needed a little more challege. Going after a doe with my Springfield XD Tactical .45 ACP now, and the bow of course. I am now tagged out on bucks, doe and yote hunting now til cat season opens Dec. 1st. Well the rut is in here. Rattled up a nice 8 point shooter last Friday morning along with 2 small bucks. The 8 point wasn't as big as my 10 so I let him pass (lol He didn't give me a shot !!!!) Seriously doubt I will do better than my 10 though. It's taken my 22 yrs to kill one that big and is going to be hard to top. You know if everyone kills atleast a doe we would be in a huge lead !!!!!!!! lmbo Good Luck everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got this 180 pound, 145 inch buck this morning at first light with my CVA Muzzleloader. I luckily passed on a big doe because it wasn't legal shooting light and boy was I glad. I've never been shook like I was after I shot that buck. I thought to myself, so this is what Stan Potts feals like when he shoots a big buck. 15 points for usLast morning of our Primitive firearms season and I decided to venture to a stad that we usually hunt in rifle season because it's so thick and the deer usually hold up there as hunting presure gets higher. Almost took a doe being last day and all but it was to early for legal shooting so I passed and boy am I glad I did. About 30 minutes latera shooter walked into a shooting lane and I had to make a quick decision and shot. He went about 20 yards and "DIRT NAP".

Welcome Slickhead !!!!!! Muzzleloader started this weekend and I haven't seen a buck since friday. Temps have been high deer movement has been early and right at dark. Supposed to cool down wednesday after some storms, will be in the 60s and 30s. Should get them moveing. I have friday, sat., and sunday off to hunt.

Well we hunted the opener only to have 2 black german shepards chase deer all around us. Went out this evening and had only yotes come through with no shot. Moon is bad for our bow stands right now should pick up next week. Cole (my 13yr old son) has a controlled hunt this weekend so I will only get to huint friday morning. I too hope we have it, I enjoy the comrodery. It also helps me to wait for bigger mature bucks to get a higher score. It's alot of fun and I'd like to say THANKS to everyone who has put it on every year. And a big THANK YOU for the prizes that Realtree donates also!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait !!!!!!!

My corn is already burned up. Man this is crazy, had to wait for it dry up to plant it then it hasn't rained since. Hope the fall is better, maybe I'll be able to get my turnips in anyhow.
