Re: 05-06 RT Forum Deer Contest - ENTRY THREAD -
Re: The Wallhangers (14) Hay it worked, cool. Coming home last night seen a big 8 with a doe 20 yds from the road, he wouldn't leave her either. He wasn't all that wide just past his ears but tine length was long. Maybe 10 inches on the G2, sure was pretty in the headlights. Looks like aot of the action might take place at night . So here is my small buck but at lest I'm eating good.Sorry for the pic. I should have know not to let my dad take it.

Re: The Wallhangers (14) Bear with me it's the first time trying to post pics. That's the area of the road the buck crossed and the shooting lane he ran through, notice my 30 yd marker and my treestand 25' up.

Well I already filled my any sex bow tag, so I've been working on reducing the city deer herd on a special hunt. I have my treestand about 40 yds from a rural roadway. Today as I'm sitting there watching the cars go by passing time for the last hour. At 4:47pm I see a truck come to a sudden stop, I was thinking doe. So I stand up, grab the bow and hear crunch, crash crunch. I'm going alright backstraps tonight, but I see a 4 point with one antler run by and behind him a moving tree, no BIG antlers . After almost being hit by the truck he ran by 5 yds out under my tree and kept half running. I only saw him for maybe 6 seconds but could tell he was a massive 10 or 12 #200+ deer. I wouldn't be able to get my hands around the beam at the g2 let alone the base and I've got big hands. I know a guy who shot a 170 last year I seen and this deer made him look a little small. I tried to get some pictures but he was gone before I could. I'm still a little shaken up by this one, an absolutely amazeing deer. Biggest deer I've ever had under my stand and only personaly seen one bigger, a non typical. This is in a doe only management area unless your drawn for a buck tag(only24) I hope he's not poached and there for me next year.

Re: The Wallhangers (14) Well I was sitting there watching the cars go by waiting for the last hour of daylight. When at 4:47pm a truck suddenly hit the brakes. I looked over to see why, thinking maybe does. I grab my bow and hear crunch, crash, crunch. O My Goodness , I had the second biggest buck I've personally seen 5 yds out under my tree. He was a massive 10 or 12 over #200 deer. I wouldn't be able to put my hands completely around the main beam at the g3, let alone the base and I have big hands. He was in my life for all of 6 seconds, running through the woods after almost being hit by the truck. I was going to take some pictures for ya'll but he didn't stick around long enough. I guy I know shot a 170 last year I seen and this deer made him look alittle small. An amazing deer. On that note never seen anything else but the four point with him for the rest of the night.

Re: The Wallhangers (14) My pictures will be up as soon as the film people get done devoloping them and put them onto a cd for me. I did make it out yesterday and had a guy stop his car on the road, get out and scare off the deer coming my way. They were in a cornfield coming into my woods. Not sure if he knows I'm there or not .

Re: No peep Here you go Timberline No Peep I personally don't like the one I have but it does show the torque in how you grip the bow alot.

Re: The Wallhangers (14) That's alright kooter, the rut is still to come. Ought to be some good eating. Finally got the internet working again. Haven't been seeing much on the days I've been able to get out hunting but it's starting to look up from some of the reports I've been hearing. I was looking forward to going tommorow but someone asked me to help them move, maybe friday. Good hunting you guys.

Re: The Wallhangers (14) Hay guys just checking in, haven't seen to much moving. I was up in that tree 27' in that wind, little spooky with trees banging together. There will be a delay in the pictures, my internet went down Saturday and right now I'm using my local library's internet. Not sure when mine will be back up and running, good hunting yall.

Re: decoys-3d targets I have and it worked great. Had serveral bucks check it out, one mounted her. Couple tips, a waterfowl decoy bag works great for carrying it, spray it down each time with no-scent spray, do not apply doe in heat or so forth directly to it. Atach a 2x5 or so strip of plastic garbage bag or tissue to the tail and the same or feathers to the inside of the ears. If useing as a buck face it towards you, as a doe face away from you. Little heavy but work great in my experience, hope this helps.

Re: Yankees Lose [ QUOTE ] A-Rod makes 149,000+ a game, 16.5 thousand an inning. Batting four times a game on average he makes 4200 and if he stays in the box for ten pitches he makes how much? 2 for 15 when it counts! [/ QUOTE ] LOL Give me Jeter at playoff time. Mr. Clutch

Re: ALCS Screw Up [ QUOTE ] The problem is, his third strike call and his out call are exactly the same or at least pretty close to it. You can't have any kind of confusion like that if your an umpire. Players should not even have to think for .000001 seconds what the hand signal the ump just made meant. [/ QUOTE ] Exactly.

Re: The Wallhangers (14) Thats sweet, thanks.

Re: ALCS Screw Up [ QUOTE ] I agree. If you noticed every time there was a swing, miss and no contact, the ump pointed (just like he did on AJ's at-bat) and then made a strike punch (just like on AJ's at-bat). But, on the others, he also called them out after the catcher tagged the batter. [/ QUOTE ] I agree that the Ump did that all game long, but when Molina was up to bat and swing out, AJ dropped the ball and then tagged Molina. The Ump did the same hand out, fist clinch to show strike out, but shouldn't he have then also did another fist clinch to show the tag out which he didn't. The Angel catcher should have tagged him, just to close not to but then again he thought it was a clean pick. So many ways a person could view this one, if it happened in the 2 inning wouldn't even been talked about. Thats what makes baseball so great, a game of inches. I'm interested to see how both teams respond.

Re: The Wallhangers (14) I'll get the pics posted as soon as I can. Ya seeing scrapes around and that buck was sure smelling alittle rutty, saved the tarsal glands. Couple more weeks and things should be in full swing. I'm going to let my dad hunt my rut stand this year and see what he can do. Good hunting this weekend! Awesome signature, would you hook me up? Not sure how to get an image on it.

Re: ALCS Screw Up Thats why I would like to see it in playoff games only and where it can only be reveiwed for like 2 mins in a game on deciding play like last night, maybe where only the Ump can choose to see the replay or not to make sure his call. That way it dosen't disrupt play long and the right call is made when teams seasons are on the line.

Re: Yankees Lose I'm just wondering how bad the Boss's rampage is going to be or should I say who on?
-
Did you see that? I'm a NY fan, but what a circus. MLB needs instant replay in the playoffs. I don't blame the ump for not being able to see if the ball hit the ground, but he called him out first and then safe. The runner also stepped on the plate on his way to first so that I believe was an out also. Human error is apart of the game but to bad it ended like that. Props to AJ and to the Soxs taking advantage of it. I'm rooting for the Sox in this series but feel for the Halo fans.
