  3. Re: What A Day!!! Left An Arrow Fly Today!!! [ QUOTE ] I think Tony is gonna start a support group called Tree Shooter Anonymous. [/ QUOTE ] I think I should join, I did it twice last year lol. Keep at it, only a matter of time. Sounds like he don't know he's being hunted yet. Good hunting.
  4. Re: TEAM 14 Thanks Guys. Can't believe I did that one. I don't have a digtial camera, just a regular 35mm, so it my take a little time to post a picture. My city park doe hunt starts in about 7 hours, hopefully I can fill the freezer some more. As far as names I like the Wallhangers.
  5. Re: God\'s Sweet, Sweet Grace! ***(PICS!)*** Awesome, congrats to you and your wife.
  6. Re: Are youse a Yankee or are y\'all from Dixie? 52%(Dixie), Right on the Mason-Dixon line
  7. Re: TEAM 14 Welcome aboard LiffeNRA. Well guys I screwed up. Last night at very last light, I had a deer come in and it acted like a doe and I couldn't make out any headgear, so I decided to take her. Well after a good shot and a short blood trail, I walked up on it to see antlers. It was a small buck, to say the lest I'm disappointed I'm making such a small contribution to the team . I thought about letting my dad tag him but can't tag another person's deer they shot during bow season. That was my any sex tag I had to use, so I'm doe hunting until shotgun season, hopefully I'll pick it up. Well he ought to taste great (no tag sandwich), very young and healthy looking, 135 pounds field dressed. It was cool watching my home made lighted nock find the mark. Good hunting you guys, might try to get some geese this year now.
  8. Re: TEAM 14 Man what a night. Should have stayed home, well maybe. Started out late, filled my boots, sat on a sandbar ringing out my socks and dumping the water out. Let them air dry 5 mins, put em back on, start up the bank and off bounds a small 8 point. So I make it to my stand, get settled, trying to do foot exercises in my boots to keep my feet warm and dumped the front pouch of my pack on the ground. About 4:30(right after the pack dumping) spotted a doe 100 yds away, try calling to her to no avail, she walks across the creek away from me. Then 5:30 here runs a doe right by me into my shooting lane and turns directly away, no shot. I was at full draw ready to deliver. I try to doe bleat to turn her back but again to no avail. So I have my release hand in my pocket, bow on my lap sitting down. A few minutes later here comes a bigger doe the same way but slower, gets to my shooting lane turns broadside, still, 22 yds, grunting looking for the callmaker . I have to watch her walk off grunting. As I was going to hook my release I noticed it was in two pieces. I use a tru ball tornado, which has a pin that connects the release to the wrist strap, well the pin somehow fell out. So I'm up in the tree trying to jerry rig it so I can pull back. I did but it was to late(used my pull up rope ). Then coming out I get to where the truck is suppose to be and it's gone . My dad(hunting partner) went driving through the field across the creek looking for me, so I had to walk down a gravel road to him. Man what a night, almost delivered the backstraps. Just had to chuckle on this one.
  9. Re: TEAM 14 Good Hunting you guys. I'm going to try to make it out tonight and fri. night and see whats shakeing. Hopefully it's not me, suppose to get in the 30s for lows here w/ 20 mph wind. Not fully adjusted for it yet. [ QUOTE ] Back in my younger years I thought I was, but old does and nice bucks will humble you.) [/ QUOTE ] Copy that. Esp. when you shoot over one's back at ten yards .
  10. Re: New NC Record Non-Typical! Nice buck, one of a kind. Congrats on a great deer and the record.

  13. Re: I know Jimmie Johnson wont but I will. Holy cow, the impossible happened
  14. Re: Grouping question If you go to a local bow proshop, they might be able to help you tighten up those groups also.
  15. Re: found a neet sign out hunting Hay that sounds like my uncle. Good one.
  16. Re: TEAM 14 [ QUOTE ] I'd love to get me a wall hanger this year but all I can promise is some tenderloins. [/ QUOTE ] Same Here, going to try to bag a bruiser but won't pass up a good sized deer. I've eaten to many tag sandwiches waiting for Mr. right to step out in front. Bad part is I had my chance at a beauty P&Y last year but couldn't shoot cause it was a doe only zone, even though I seem to be the only one abiding by it(170 P&Y someone took last year 50 yds from my stand, illegally) . As far as names I'm easy, tenderloins and taters, made me chuckle, I like it .
  17. Re: Sammy Jo\'s first buck / Iowa 10 point Awesome, Congrats!
  18. Re: TEAM 14 Well I got out Sunday morning and saw nothing but the corn is still up. Close to 90 and muggy here today think I'll stay home tonight. Wizard a Happy Birthday to you also. As far as names go your suggestion Leathel Threat works for me. That's awesome finnlander hope you get another chance at him.
  19. Re: Dale Jarrett wins at \'Dega! Oh my gosh what were they thinking? I am happy DJ won it though, he really needed one.
  20. Re: A funny but true story - part 1 Go for it, all he can do is say no. Might have it all to yourself. Just make sure someone knows where you are .
  21. Re: TEAM 14 Well Happy Birthday to you! Congrats on the bear, did you take him with a bow? I have to agree, mid Nov. is one of my favorite times of year. Wizard I thankfully have two more spots in my back pocket to hunt, GOOD HUNTING everyone.
  22. Re: TEAM 14 Welcome aboard! This sucks I found out I was kicked out of two of my hunting spots this week.
  23. Re: TEAM 14 I was waiting for the others to check in, but was thinking about something with midwest in the name, since all that have checked in so far are from the midwest. Midwest Monster something(reminds me of the ghostbusters song"who ya going to call"lol), but I like your suggestion.
  24. Re: Carbon Arrows??? [ QUOTE ] iabow, that is hilarious!!....what amazes me is you actually did it twice! Is that an Iowa thing? Shooting your bow thru the house... [/ QUOTE ] I think it's more of a family thing. Two years ago my dad had to tear down a wall, and when we got back from hunting one evening he noticed something changed on his bow so he put one into the wall to see. He said he was begining construction, mom didn't agree. My grandpa is an awesome shot, shooting blackbirds 100 yds away with a handgun. Well one night home by himself a bat started flying around the house. My gramps is a big man and 80 years old tough for him to get around, so he brought out the bird shot for the 22 pistol. He shot the bat flying around with one shot but also put a dent in the fridge. He went driectly to the old dog house with no hot meals for awhile, but he sure was proud of geting the bat. I only shoot my bow down stairs when I can't outside or paper tuning and I make sure no one is around for safety, I see a pattern though, thats scary. Sorry for jacking the thread.
  25. Re: Favorite Pendelum Sight?? Have not shot one but heard alot of good things about the Predator IV. Thats the sight I'll be buying next.
