  1. Welcome to the forums. I think my best advice I could give you is to find someone that you could learn from that have taken some whitetails and have them take you public land and teach you what to look for. I learned alot very quickly by doing that.
  2. Re: Heres the hunting bow Awesome there Tony! The big boy better watch out.
  3. Re: Got An Invite Tonight Thanks, just went out and bought some slugs to start seeing which group the best. This is a great surprise. I'm going to go help him hang, check his stands and so forth shortly. If I get a nice one, I'll certainly post some pics.

Re: I missed! I was trying to figure out why leaves were already on the ground. Nice buck though, hopefully you get him this year.

  7. Re: Got An Invite Tonight Thanks guys, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm going to offer my tag if he needs the doe pop decreased, figure it's the least I can do. Knowing him, that won't fly far. Hopefully I can cash in my ticket on a bruisher and help my team out this season .

    How?

Re: How? Like it was said keep movement low and slow, get good cover around you to break up your outline(garden pruners work good to snip some brances and place them around you, deadfalls are great to hide in), get comfortable(you'll move less). When they come in be aware of all the deer not just the one you want and pick the time to draw carefully. That has been when I have been busted. You can diffently git r done on the ground, it's a different kind of rush being eye to eye, have fun.
  9. For the last couple years my uncle's buddy has let me come on his land and spring turkey hunt after he gets his(which isn't long). He already said I'm welcome to do it again this coming year, which is awesome. Tonight I got a call from my uncle Dick. He said he was talking to his buddy and Denny(the buddy) said why don't call Bill(me ) and see if he wants to shotgun hunt with us this year. Dick said Denny turns away many, many friends and family that try to get in to hunt for deer, so for him to ask, he must of taking a real liken to me. They take some nice deer off his property, a nice 14 last year. I bow hunt only and never went during shotgun season, to many crazy people. But he said they hunt just like bowhunting, sitting still. Everthing is planned out, treestands in the best places(the guy is always watching the deer), and most importantly they are saftey minded, all I got to do is show up. I sort of feel like a kid at christmas cause I know there are some big deer in there. I just have to figure out how to use my shotgun for slughunting or I could take my frontloader. Sorry just had to share, thought that was pretty cool.

  11. Re: A lot of bow hunting magazines out there I get Bowhunting World, I think Hoyt set me up with it when I bought my bow. Really like it though and have bought most.
  12. Re: Anyone Shoot G5 Tekan2s ???? Try moving your rest alittle at a time to the right and see if that corrects the Bh 4" to the left problem. I have been thinking about trying the new tekans with a couple others, 5SHOT gave them a great review. I just wish they were sold with the extra cut blades and not seperate.
  13. Re: What are the Foodplot/Baiting laws in Iowa? I believe as long as its been planted and is growing it is not baiting is what the dnr officer told me. Might find some more info on the ia dnr web site.
  14. Re: T.O. to detroit? I don't think so, ins't TO the reason Muricci got ran out of San Fran .
  15. Re: A few pics of ground blinds.... Looks good, me likey. Theres one spot on my hunting ground I've been thinking of building a ground blind in. Its in an open cow pasture with a set of 4 or 5 med. evergreens between two deer paths. I'm inspired.

  18. Re: What is everyone shooting this year???? 05 Hoyt V-tec
  19. Re: What are the odds that they make it? Gordon first needs to tell all the fans at Wrigley stadium he's sorry, then he might make it in (Cubs fan). JR I certainly hope so, but I don't think he will.
  20. Re: Hoyt....The real darkside Yes the force is strong with this one em. Love my v-tec also.
  21. Re: High School Football memories etc... I'm alittle different, my favorite memories I can't remember. I loved creaming people, played Middle LB and blocking full back(had a problem w/ fumbles). One of my favorites came on the last play of the game everyone fell for a fake up the middle but me and when the qb came around the pile with the ball I seen him going oh $!## and his eyes get the size of half dollars before I hit him full steam. I don't recall the next few seconds. Next I know my takle is recovering the ball ten yards down field and running in for a touch down. The guy needed helped off the field as I walked off hearing rivers and looking through a tunnel. That was great nocked us both out. Said it was deferant That and when my coach pulled in to his office to tell me he was impressed with me that I blocked one guy so hard he took out 4 others and we scored and asked if I would be a captain. Also had one of the most beautiful girls in school ask to wear my jersy around on game day and diffently the guys. Them are my favorites. Now I'm getting all worked up again.

  23. Re: Farthest shot I practice out to 60-70 yds, but limit my hunting shots to 40 and under. Although I have not had to make a shot over 25 yds when hunting.
  24. Re: Daytona Wild Card Picks Thought I was suppose to pick a wild card.
