  1. Re: Sweet Lou a Cub [ QUOTE ] the cubs need to get rid of jim henry and then we might have a chance. [/ QUOTE ] Agree whole heartly. Is it possible for the Tribune to fire themselves as well? All I got to say is they better padlock down the bases, chairs, gatorade, you get the point, then you'll have Ozzie on the other end calling everyone names that mean something different in his country, what a joke. Well I hope he is able to turn things around, if nothing else he'll add some excitement.
  2. Sweet Lou a Cub link Tha'll make a heck of a showdown in the windy city. Ozzie and Lou, where's the popcorn.
  3. Re: Team 16 LOL that's something 29 degrees with a 15-20 mph wind here. Well passed on a couple more does and a couple smaller bucks. That 7 point is surely asking for it, 5 yds from my tree broadside, still and didn't have a clue I was there. The next doe that walks by, I'm hopeing to take. Good Hunting you guys.
  4. Re: Team 16 Well had a real good night tonight. Saw a total of 10 deer, 2 nice bucks and a smaller 7 the rest were slickheads. It was my first time seeing a buck sparring match, that was cool. Passed on the 7 and slickheads. With this cold front moving(snow ) in here, they were coming out of the corn and into the thick stuff. The bucks were actually checking out the does alittle, that was surprising. The funny part was I was sitting in my truck outside the timber in th rain. I was thinking of maybe just heading back home, when I look over and next to the truck was that 7 looking through the window at me, as I was listening to the radio. Then he eats his way into the timber, that answered my question real quick.
  5. Re: Any Duck Hunters in here? DC and Team Realtree It's starting to get in my blood!
  6. Re: Team 16 Oh ya I PMed need2hunt for our name change, since it seemed like everyone was ok with it.
  7. Re: Team 16 I haven't been able to get out yet either. But this 80 something degree weather has eased my itch alittle.
  8. Re: Team 16 [ QUOTE ] Guess it's time for me to check in. Our bow season starts on Saturday and I am ready to rock and roll. I've lost quite a bit of my hunting grounds this past year and I just came to find out that one of my remaining hot spots got turned inside out by the building of a couple new massive gaswell's...and the roads leading to them. But, I'm ready to get after em either way you look at it. [/ QUOTE ] I have an idea of what your feeling. I had something similar happen to me this spring turkey season. Left me srambling. Backstrap Butchers works for me.
  9. Re: Uh-Oh OHIO STATE!?!?! I love our Hawks but looking at reality, as was said we haven't been impressive thus far. I think the only chance we have is the defensive line to step up and play like never before and the running game to get on track quick to eat up clock. Go Hawks. And don't be so sure of a IStinkU beating UNI. I expect that to be somewhat close.
  10. Re: Team 16 [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Well shoot HarvDog - you're not to far from me. If I get a permission slip and I am allowed to bring a guest on a hunt, I'll have three stand locations, so maybe we could get together for a hunt. There are restrictions such as the antlers have to be outside the ears and such, but if you want some meat for the freezer there are plenty of does! Right after black powder season, I am going to bring my son to try to get him a shot at a deer and then after that I'm open. I'll see what I can do, let me know what you think. We will have a good chance at getting our team so points, we'll get to meet each other, and hopefully drop some deer. [/ QUOTE ] Wow! That would be awesome. Please let me know. I'll PM you my contact info. Thanks for the consideration. [/ QUOTE ] Now that's teamwork! Man I antsy to get out there.
  11. Re: Team 16 Hello team mates, Bill checking in. I hunt mainly in a deer city deer management hunt inside the parks of my city. I'm mainly a meat hunter. This I was drawn for a buck tag in the parks though, that I am excited about. I had to watch about a 170+ buck walk by last year cause I didn't have the buck tag, so I hope he walks by this year! I also been hunting 80 acres of creek bottom for 10 years and some public land around. Hope every one has a safe and successful season. I'm easy on names. I few ideaers off the top of my head. 13. Re: new arrows ( Pics) Good looking arrows, think you'll enjoy those blazers.
  14. Re: American Pioneer Powder I'll keep an eye on that. My gun is a little older CVA so hopefully it don't do anything to it.
  15. Re: Favorite team [ QUOTE ] Don't really have a favorite team, just favorite players. [/ QUOTE ] Same here but I pull for the Bears and Niners cause of Sweetness, Singletary, Rice and Young.
  16. Re: American Pioneer Powder [ QUOTE ] Anyone here use it? I bought some of their "Shockey's gold" ONLY because that was what Bass pro had on sale, in the FFG. I had used their pellets in years past, but after shooting it this weekend, I will never be using pellets again. After 5 shots, with only dry patching between shots, when I tore the gun down to clean, I was really imopressed with how the barrel looked. Nice and shiny, with only a hit of crud in it. In the past, the pellets would leave a heck of a crud ring down where they were seated, and I would always have problems loading after a couple of shots. Not so with the powder. I think i'm gonna like it. [/ QUOTE ] I just bought the regular APP stuff yesterday and tried it. I agree with you 100%. I shot 777 before and APP will be in my gun from now on, nothing against 777. This stuff is super clean and I had 3 shots touching each other at 100 yds.
  17. Re: Tru Ball Pro Diamond release It's just a little small for my hand, esp. with a glove and I just decided to back to a wrist release.
  18. I have a year old Pro Diamond release for sale, used moderately. $60.00 tyd

    peanut butter!!

Re: peanut butter!! [ QUOTE ] My wife bought the natural peanut butter a few weeks ago and it is disgusting. She asked me if I was going to eat it, but I told her I'd take it out to my deer stand. Hopefully the deer will like it. [/ QUOTE ] I know what you're saying about that stuff, I had the same reaction. Now I have a new use for it .
  22. Re: Has anybody ever tried this before? Just be careful of other hunters who may not use their heads.

    moon phases

Re: moon phases There was a one of my favorite shows on today "Deer and Deer hunting TV". Alsheimer is on it and he was talking about the phases of the rut in relation to the moon phase and how to hunt them. I could be off alittle on the dates but he said the seeking phase of the rut would happen around Nov.4-8, the chasing phase Nov.9-15 and the breeding phase would start around Nov.15. Of course the weather has to cooperate also, He said above 40 something temps will shut things down. Like I said I might be a little off in my memory but close enough to get the idea. It was very informative, if nothing else make you think about some things. I recommend watching it if you can.

  25. Re: fletched up with yellow wrap Pink really stands out in the woods. I started useing hot pink blazers after seeing a guy on a bow hunting show use them. I've tested all the color of the blazer vanes and at dusk the pink blazers light up for me, just my 2 cents.
