Thanks all.. I find that its best to take it day by day. Some are highs and some are very low. I have been here twice before so I am no rookie... Still not an easy thing. especially with and for the kids... At least we do not fight or making it hard on one another... Just that hole in your gut from the loss... Thanks again..

My brother just bought the ME and its pretty awesome IMO. I too had issues with mine at first. Since it was older the fiber optics were brittle and I ended up breaking 2 while moving them around. You can swap them out to arrange colors you want, etc. Well they sent me enough to do 2 sights plus a free G5 ball cap for free. I second the service from the G5 team!!!

I bought a used LE a year ago and love it. I did not experience anything the other guy posted about at all. The only thing that was a negative was that sighting in took a bit of time. The pin system works very well but is limited in range of movement. So for example, you get 20 and 30 sighted in but run out of adjustment for 40 so then you have to gang adjust to bring 40s pin in its range of motion. This naturally causes 20 and 30 to not be on any more so you need to go back and resight them. However since it has the fine tune feature this is very quick. It did not bother me at all but I have read others who did not care for that. As for quality I have not found anything to tell me its poor at all. The sight is designed for use with its light so if you do not get the light then low light hunting is nill. IE first and last few minute of legal. This is especially the case in a darken ground blind. Over all I think its its a great sight but I agree its pretty expensive. I would not of bought one brand new... I paid $80 for mine...

Found out a week ago that my wife and I are going our seperate ways. After being together 10 years its over. This is strike 3 for me. Third divorce, or should I say my last... Its taken the hunt right out of me too. Especially since I am due to loose the 100 acres I have called "my spot" for the past 10 years. All the work I did is gone. I am able to hunt it this fall but honestly I dont have it in me to go up there anymore. It was a piece of property we were buying from her fathers farm. Not sure where I will go now. I plan to move on though, buy a piece of land with my 1/2 of the profits from selling our house/land, and then build a small log cabin. Something I have always wanted to do anyways. Most likely I will not be able to buy a big enough piece to really hunt but it will be mine... Wish me luck because the tough times are just begining...

Best price I have seen on just the frame is around $280 to $300. Buying the encore piece by piece will not save you any $$$ just not hurt as much all at once. I have a bit over $1000 into my custom 7mm rem Mag handgun encore rig...

If you make it back alive. Geesh I cant wait to see the final load...

I hear ya on dropping a deer dead via gun hunting. No pain nor tracking. Bow hunting can be almost as quick. A well placed shot can dispatch a deer within 20 to 30 seconds. It will be more like 2 to 3 minutes if given the time to bed down. I have 100 acres I hunt on and I have yet to track one over the boards. 200 would be sweet. Good Luck.

The only time it makes a difference is if your shooting off the knuckle. Off the shelf or a rest then it does not. Something about how the leading tip of your feather can cut your knuckle if not the same direction as what hand you use.

Nice Jim. Man I wish I could of had one of those when I was hot and heavy into trad. Maybe one day when it bites me again.
-
Yes I have and they are pretty tough. What are you shooting them from? If and trad bow then keep em long and use the 3555s. I shot them off 55 to 65 pound trad bows and had to heavy them up a lot up front. Look at least 150g front ends. Maybe even 200g. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about this but yes it does go away. Time heals all wounds they say. I have been threw the big D twice and remarried again. Yes I do believe in marriage... Lets just keep it at that. The hurt and loneliness is almost unbearable at 1st. Some times its not so bad and others its ****. But it does get better. Chin up.

Yep you must of had some poor strength washers. The washer is suppose to stop the blade from damaging the inserts. Think thats bad try it without a washer at all. LOL Talk about crimping a mech head to an arrow. Not coming off without damage to one or both. LOL Live and learn I guess.

Army/Navy stores carry such camo. Not photo realistic patterns but VERY effective camo for deer hunting. Next would be Walmart I would think. JMO

My season is over. I did not have another chance at one but did hear a few right behind the house a week after my 1st. I hope the others were as lucky... Good Luck to those still hunting!

I know the OTPG has you straight out too. LOL Thanks bro...

Well I am told its well worth the wait but its hard to believe when your in month 6 for just a simple cut down, muzzle brake, fore end hole d/t, and chamber work. But he is popular and very busy so I guess its what it is. I know the 3-12 Burris is getting lonely... LOL

I went out later today, approx 6 hours after my work out, and shot. I did very well and was able to "loosen up" and settle in after my 1st few shots. Did some arrow slapping at 30 and 40. I am also shooting for the 1st time with my new glasses, (God I hate getting old) which is somewhat weird but I seem to be spot on so I am going with it as is.

No interview. I had no idea it was happening actually. My buddie says, "Hey your pic may show up in the paper". Umm... OK, I said. He gave all the info to his bioligist friend for me. Still pretty cool for me to have a few friends a family see it.

I am starting to regret selling that tube to you C-man. I have yet to get mine from OTT and its really starting to peeve me off. I have the 17" Encore 7mm Rem Mag pistol bbl coming back with a few mods by Mike. I can swear to the 300 WM accuracy. I had a 3 leaf clover mine first round at 100 yards with that gun bbl and Federal 150g factory ammo. The SSK muzzel break works like a charm as I had said. No one believes until they shoot it but not many want to even try. LOL

I will be 40 this August so I may be starting to feel the effects of getting older. I also leave my bow at 70 lbs hunting weight year round. I have never had an issue like this before. Yea It would be a bit tough at 1st after blowing the dust off and drawing back the 1st few time in early spring, but within a day or two I would be good to go for regular shooting daily. Some days only a dozen or so shots. Other days it seemed like 5 or 6 dozen throughout the day. I may have to back off on some of the "off season" strength training exercizes to incorporate the bow into my work out routine. My workouts are mainly geared towards loosing weight but I also wanted increased upper body strength to aid in slow drawing of my bow at the 70 lbs weight. At 80% let off its not much. Its that dang peak weight before let off thats getting me. LOL

On March 1st I stepped on the scale and in my dismay I saw a hefty 240 lbs come up. No good at only 5' 7". I started doing some serious working out. Cardio and strength training geared toward bow hunters. Its a '2 on 1 off' type of schedule with alternating work outs for upper body (front and back)and middle section. Cardio/Abs every day. Well I started shooting and man I tell ya its tough. I was amazed on how hard it was for me to draw back! I was upset and confused, thats how hard it was. Then I realized I was working out the muscles so hard that on the days I choose to shoot my body was in a very fatigued state. Basically I was trying to shoot on the days my body was meant to recover. I shot well, better then I expected, but only about 6 to 8 shots and I was done vs the 2 or 3 dozen shots I normally would do. Has anyone else encountered this? What did you do to change your work out routine to be able to shoot? Thanks. Oh BTW I have lost 29 lbs since March 1st!!! Still got about 30 more though... D-oh!
