  1. great buck!! if the guys arms were longer it would look even bigger.lol
  2. Awesome shooting!! shot my first with a bow last night while hunting from the ground. It had a nice looking hide but the rage opened his guts and I wasn't about to carry the stinky thing back to the truck.lol

there are a few in here... I'm from Hardin county. Welcome to the forums!
  4. I had a great opening morning sit... seen at least 20 different deer with only a couple small bucks, time to shoot a few does it appears. The corn is off on that property so they were really hitting the fields. I could have shot either of the small bucks and a couple nice sized does but decided to pass... can't complain about a sit like that.
  5. Have to love up close encounters... Back when I crossbow hunted I had a doe feed around me for several minutes. I thought she was going to bite my boot at one point. There was a pretty good breeze, once she got to the downwind side she jumped dang near kicking me and took off.
  6. If hunting around the house I just have to drive to get to the other side of the section to have easier access to stands. Tomorrow for the opener I will drive an hour to my favorite hunting spot, still have a couple stands to set also. I also drive 7 hours every year to the UP, Michigan to the cabin for deer camp... lucky to see a deer up there some years but still wouldn't miss camp.
  7. great hunt and nice bull... I've got 5 points in for Utah so I figured it would still be a few years before I'm drawn.
  8. Auctions are fun sometimes or a waste of time the others... I went to one a couple weeks ago with a couple things in mind. I ended up with one of the items at a pretty good price. I wish I had about 2-3 grand to spend because I could have really pimped out my shop as everything was going pretty reasonable, but I only had $100 to spend that day. What kind of planter did you get? I picked up an old John Deere horse drawn type that was converted to 3point a couple months ago. I plan on using it next year but eventually want to upgrade to a no-til two row planter someday.
  9. 48 yards on a Wyoming antelope. furthest deer was right at 30 with most being less than 20.
  10. Not fun cutting up trees in 90+ degree temps... I had 9 trees come down from an 80 mph storm that came through a couple months ago. most of it is out of the way and now waiting for cooler temps this winter to finish.
  11. I only played 3 times this year with 2 being scrambles. The one lone round I shot 38-41=79 with a sweet eagle chip on a par 5. Wish I had time to get out like I use to.
  12. very saddened to hear about this. prayers on the way and God bless.

    stormy weather

had a good storm last night and storming again... maybe the three food plots we planted yesterday will grow better than our spring plots.
  14. I refinanced a couple years ago at 3.875 / 15 year... I didn't think it would would go much lower than that, guess I was wrong. I don't think it would make much sense for me to do it again unless I could go to a 10 year. I also pay biweekly so it automatically pays an additional principal payment every year... something you might want to consider if you want to pay off the mortgage a couple years earlier.
  15. happy birthday... hope it's a good one!
  16. I've built quite of few with sony p32s and p41s but haven't in a few years. I started a couple more this past winter with parts I had laying around but ran out of time, hope to finish by deer season. Some of my cameras have been in use for around 8 years without many problems. I would recommend going to Hag's House, www.hagshouse.com, build your own homemade trail camera or video game cameras for your research.
  17. yup, wind was pretty nasty here yesterday afternoon, worst I've ever seen it. It took out several trees on my property that I'll be spending the next week or so cleaning up and power was out until a little after 2am, which the tree in my front yard was the cause of that. Sad part is we only got about 2/10 of rain but it is raining more now at least. Sounds like people were hit worse north south of me.
  18. been dry here as well and the spring food plots were a waste of time and money... the only nice thing about it is I don't have to mow my yard much.
  19. I've had a few problems with my 04 Polaris 700 lately. I took it to a repair shop to have the carb gone through to find out the front rubber boot that goes to the carb was dry rotted. Also, there was a seal that goes between the engine and the exhaust had rusted away. Once I replace those, it ran great. I ran out of gas last week and think something got sucked into the carb again... it's back at the repair shop as I don't have the patience to work on them.
  20. not the news I like to hear... prayers coming your way!
  21. bought solar glasses for this... now I just need the clouds to clear up by later this afternoon.
