  1. A while back I bought a Remington 870 12ga Shurshot turkey gun from a friend out of work. Can I swap barrels and put a slug barrel on it for deer season? Pardon the ignorance, but I've never done this before. Cabelas has a nice super slug barrel and scope plus I can get a nice discount Like always, thanks for the advice!! Ray
  2. Leaving cell phone at home, yes Spilling morning drink on myself while in truck, yep Dropping something from stand, oh yeah ( my release!!) Seeing a nice buck on route, you got me there!!! Ray
  3. It happens,, but you tried, that's what important,,
  4. Next weekend looks to be a wash, but weather looks great for Monday - Wednesday, going to see if i can make my way out, good luck!!!
  5. Glad it all worked out,, I can see that being a tense moment.
  6. ditto,, use them more to store away my hunting clothes when I put them away in space bags
  7. I have about a dozen easton 2314 aluminum arrows,, send me a pm if your are interested plus length
  8. Mine is not scent-lok, but I take the precaution of washing it in scent elimination detergent and I spray the blind down with some scent eliminator, good luck!!!
  9. I shoot at my block both on and off ground. I found one of those big plastic tubs in the garbage somewhere, I place the block right on top. The Block fits right in so it's perfect for transporting. The tub is getting pretty chewed up, I going to buy another one, saw them at a local dollar store for $3, can't go wrong,,
  10. I keep a bright orange wiffle ball packed with a few marbles and peices of styrofoam ( keep marbles from making noise) in my stand bag. If it's getting late and I hit a deer, I just toss it as close to my strike spot as possible.
  11. As stated, it happens to the best. What is important is that you tried to find the animal, keep us posted
  12. http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/living/2009/09/23/pkg.30.point.buck.wluk Bowhunter in Wisconsin scores 30 point buck,,
  13. Agreed, some hunters, or perhaps "wannabe" hunters tend to get a little to excited when their plans get interrupted
  14. My buddy lost his job several months ago,, to help him out I opted to buy his Remington 870 Shurshot off of him. He bought it with a red dot scope on it and never got the chance to site it in, so it's my next on the to do list, maybe get a chance to use it in the fall season. Anyway, besides just aiming at a target and wasting shells (which I'm sure we all agree are tough to get these days) anybody have any tips on what I need to do to get this baby ready? As always, many thanks Ray
  15. It is,, For $30 it's an excellent deal,, but reason for sale is overstock on small/medium, nothing for us big boys
  16. stevebeilgard is right, I was invited to a turkey hunt last year in NC, I wanted to fly, but Continental refused to check my gun. Fortunately I took down the name of th person I spoke to on the phone who said there would be no problem and after some screaming got a refund. But i know other people who flew as far out as Texas with same airline, no issue,, go figure
  17. I slipped at at 3D shoot last week on some rocks, frayed my string bad right above the d-loop. To have it re-strung, peep and silencers re-installed, costing me $135, sux, but what can you do
  18. I'm curious to as to what problems you are referring to. I bought a Drenalin after i got shoulder surgery, no complaints here,,
  19. No better here in New Jersey,, miserable summer,,
  20. I feel the same way about my son, hope your children are doing good, I would have went back the next day and screamed at the manager in front of the customers. Like you, when it comes to my son's health, zero tolerance for BS like that
  21. I took the chance a few years ago and started making my own,, except for a little excess glue here and there, they fly just as good as if I bought them made. It turned out to be my "ZEN" hobby. When I have nothing better else to do, you'll find me in my basement making arrows. And with the help of Onestringer, it's become a cool hobby. The money I saved was worth it,,
  22. I too disagree, I have a Drenalin, and yes the grip can seem bulky, but I have big hands so it don't bother me. Why you will constantly read here "always try before you buy" As for making you miss, naaah.
