    Ripcord rests

I have one on both my bows. I heard about the noise issue, but never experienced it. One did take some extra tuning. I got a chance to test the Trophy Taker. If either of my ripcords fail, I will definitely move to that,, pass on whisker.
  2. Congrats!!! I'm still waiting to try my first turkey with a bow,,
  3. I don't even qualify to guess, but where in the **** did you score that monster?!!
  4. Wow,, I'm setting up my first turkey hunt for next year and I wanted to ask the same question,, well I feel better!!! Good Luck!!! Ray
  5. Flintlock Yes Internet as well. Not sure of the exact download/upload speeds, but A LOT faster then my previous carrier Comcast, speed was upto 10mgb down/3 mgb up,, before they started restricting it,, I will test new connection and let you know Check on those "special programs" doubleA
  6. "I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that's what we're here for. That buck will probably never get out of your head, but all of us hunters have that one deer stuck in our minds. You're not alone!! " Couldn't have said it any better. Been a LONG time since I scored a deer with a bow, but my love for the hunt and being in the woods is the main part, everything else is a perk.
  7. I just switched to Verizon FIOS, I saw they broadcasted the Outdoor Channel (unlike my previous carrier), I love it!! Now I know whatI've been missing, Realtree Roadtrips, Primos TRUTH, Maximum Archery... finally, something I can watch on weekend mornings to help wind down,,
  8. I'm right here in New Jersey getting my share. Not the accumulation you got, but enough to be a pain in the biscuits none the less, got another storm coming tomorrow morning....
  9. A lot celebrating Thanksgiving lol,, my left knee finally said "no mas" to me a few years ago, since then I don't come close to a tree stand, so ground blind for me. In the right spot they are good,, but here in Jersey unless you have access to private property, leaving it out is taboo,, still looking for one that is easy and quiet to set up,, until then I've been using a combination of camo burlap, sticks and brush from the woods,, but even that has a price, most of the time other hunters will trash it for kicks,,
  10. I read this this morning, NOTHING is Walmart is worth turning into a pack of savages,, I drove by the local Walmart this morning about 8 AM headed to help out a friend,,I can see the animals gathering from the highway,, unreal,,
  11. I'm jealous,, Sounds cool man, post some pics when you nail the big one!! Ray
  12. I'm was in same boat, only one good pro shop by me. I ended buying a Bowtech, but I had to wait for a business trip to Florida before I could test shoot it. At least have the pro shop measure you up, draw length, recommended brace height, pull weight etc. You'll get dozen or so recommended brands from the members here,, As long as it right for your hunting weather (insulated vs uninsulated) whatever is comfortable, plus right camo,, Good luck,,
  13. Welcome to the forums!! A bow under $500 will be tough, perhaps you can get your hands on a used one. What I mean is after you start adding the accessories, rest, sights etc, you can pass $500 easy. Mission is subsidiary of Matthews, none the less, I suggest you try out a few more, hold and shoot them, see which one you like most. Bowhunters Super Store (www.bowhunterssuperstore.com) is having a closeout sale. But for your first bow, I suggest you pick it up at a local proshop, incase you have to make any adjustments. Just make sure you test shoot. As for clothes, clothing depends on several factors, weather you will hunting in, camo that best suits your hunting spot etc. Give us some more details and I'm sure the members here will be glad to help with any advice Ray
  14. I agree with the guys,, if this is your first bow, buy it from a local pro shop. Most important, try it out, hold it, shoot it, try several brands. Skip buying it online, save that for your next one. That goes for new or used.. just incase you have any issues or it needs some adjustments, you can just take it to the shop, buying it online you are stuck with what you get Good Luck, bowhunting is a beautiful sport Ray
  15. 15ft, it could have been worse, much worse. Heal fast and get back in that tree, this time with a safety vest, please Ray
  16. God willing next season I want to try an out of state hunt, if anyone can recommend an outfitter I'd appreciate it. Like to try the west (colorado, missouri) Thanks Ray
  17. He's a beaut, congrats!! If I may ask, was this an outfitter? If so who, I'd like to start saving my chnage for an out of state hunt,,
  18. Thanks all!! I checked out each and every link,, I need something to transport my bow locally, so I got enough cabelas bucks to get the Plano SE-44 free. I have yet to be invited to a hunt requiring me to get on a plane,, but if ever (and I hope) I will definitely reference all the links again Thanks again,, Ray
  19. Hi all, I'm looking for a nice hard case for my Drenalin, it measures about 37" tip to tip. I like the Plano camo, just want to make sure it fits. I know Cabelas are easy to work with returning, but if I could avoid the bother,, Can anybody recommend one? Like always, thanks !!! Ray
