  1. Re: Need Shooting Help I agree with everything said about taking a break, I was so anxious to get my new bow sighted and ready I was shooting almost everyday, it was only a short time after I started I realized I couldn't keep the bow steady. I took about a week off, let the shoulder relax and I was back on target,, Good luck Ray
  2. Re: Bowhunting Magazines ONLY!!! Name Them!!! I'm with Tominator, I used to get Bowhunter, way to over the top for me.. I read Petersen's Bowhunting occasionally
  3. Re: Considering moving to A/C/C [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] but I think you'd be just as pleased with something much cheaper that is either straight or broke. [/ QUOTE ] Straight or broken is merely a myth. Carbon arrows can, and do, sustain damage that can't be seen. While I agree that there are some darn fine carbon arrows out there for less money, no question about that. I'd be willing to bet a half dozen A/C/C's that someone who shoots carbon arrows well, suddenly isn't shooting so well, would miraculously be back in style by purchasing new arrows. Carbon arrows, especially the less expensive ones, are notorious for having the spine shot out of them. It's inside the arrow, you can't see it, but it breaks. Suddenly a consistent shooter isn't so consistent. [/ QUOTE ] Good point, I read something similar at another forum,, I remember because the exact same thing happened to my brother in-law,, like I said, I think I'l make to switch to carbon now buy buying some GoldTips, but in mean time I'll find way to make some extra $$ and save up from some A/C/C,
  4. Re: Please Come Back!!! [ QUOTE ] The good news, I still have enough vacation and everyother friday off that I can take off every Friday From October to the end of the year. [/ QUOTE ] Man, I know how that feels, I count my vacation days like gold to make sure I got enough for some bow season, but I got some 3dshoots coming to keep together until the real game beings!!
  5. Re: Considering moving to A/C/C I have to agree with all of you, price is huge difference, for what I'l lpay for 6 A/C/C I can get a dozen Gold Tip XT ,, I think I'll switch to carbon, Gold Tip being my choice, if A/C/C even do come down in price, I'll try them. At least if I re-site for carbon, any adjustments for A/C/C should be minimal. Thanks again to all who contributed,, REALLY appreciat it!! Ray
  6. I've almost done with my supply of aluminum arrows,, I'm considering trying Easton A/C/C arrows instead,, just not sure what shaft size to pick. MUCH cheaper for me to order on line and fletch myself then having my local pro shop do it. I presently use xx75 2314,, is there a cross reference or something as to which A/C/C shaft size it best? Like always, any suggestions or input is highly appreciated.. Thanks Ray
  7. Re: How many pins do you have?? Three, 20, 30 and 40, the 30 and 40 are mostly for 3d shoots
  8. Re: how often do you practice? Every Saturday morning from here to season start, indoor bow range, about 1 hour,,

  11. Re: Bass Pro Setup.... Glad it worked out for you, this is not the first time I hear this,, friend of mine had a great experience as well. Unfortunately, nearest Basspro is about 4 hours drive, Cabelas more like 90 minutes
  12. Re: Right helical [ QUOTE ] Can't help w/ the clamp, but try putting some bowstring wax on the threads of the points. That usually works. [/ QUOTE ] Samething was happening to me,, I tried some bowstring wax on the field tip threads, problem solved!!!!
  13. Re: where to buy a jig, arrows and veins? Some advice. a good friend of mine decided it was better to make his own arrows. He bought a ton of stuff, ready to go,, but as it turns out, he didn't have the table space to put everything together in an efficent way. Turned out more frustrating then fun. Don't get me wrong, making your own arrows is a blast,, just make sure you have the room for your final choice set up.

    some suggestions

Re: some suggestions Copper John is an excellent sites I took out my Matrix and a put Copper John on, no regrets. NAP Quicktune is a great drop away, looks like you are all set, Good luck
  15. Re: Arrow Help I have to agree with Jeramie, I switch to a drop away rest ands it made a big difference. Definitely woth the investment. But you said you were adding 25gr to the total arrow weight, so I don't think the trajectory will improve. I limit myself to about 30 yards as well and I shoot a 125gr broadhead. You will have some re-tuning to do, how much depends on your present setup My 2 cents,, good luck!!!
  16. Re: Anyone Remember....What These Things are??? Cool link,, definitely added to my favorites,, sosmething I gotta remember to look over before I step out fo rmy hunting

  23. I just finished my first set of arrow wraps and I am hooked!!! Thanks to all here who shared their advice !!! I see some nice ones on Ebay for a lot cheaper then I could get them either thru Cabelas or my local pro shop,, is there a difference in quality I should be aware of? I know it's a silly question,, but I really dig the arrow wraps,,
