  4. Re: Spin testing............. I was thinking of investing in one of these, pardon my stupidity, but how does it work? As you can tell I've pretty much been operating a la seat of my pants... Thanks Ray
  5. Re: Broadhead troubles. I have the same problem, I shoot Muzzy 125, just came across and article in Peterson Whitetail Bow Hunting, according to that, assuming your fieldtips are set, if the broad head hits the target above , move nock up, opposite if it hits below. If it hits to the left, arrow can be overspined, decrease spine or increase broadhead weight. If broadhead hits to right, arrow is underspined. Increase spine or decrease broadhead weight,, At least that is what article states,,

  7. Re: Here\'s a good one, sighting question Don't get me wrong, I would not even conceive using my 30 yrd pin unless I have sighted it correctly,, I was wondering if I could use this mark to "pre" sight it,, like I said, I have limited access to a 30 yrd shooting lane,, it would at least save me some time
  8. Issue - I really want to get my 30 yard pin sighted in this year, but I have extremely limited access to a place I can shoot and practice at that distance. Hopefully I do and I get the 30 yd pin set. I can shoot 20 yrds in my backyard. Question - If I shoot at my target in my backyard using my 30yrd pin, ofcourse it hits a little high above the target bullseye. Can I use this spot as my marker for testing 30 yard shots? Perhaps test my site pin next year,, As always, any input is greatly appreciated Ray

    Good Hunting

  10. Re: Trophy Ridge Question I had same problem,, it turn out the metal washer between the clamps was to thick, right where your pic references, thing is, it would only move when I shot in cold weather,, I fixed it, but took a big chance of screwing of the site for good, best bet is contact Trophy Ridge,

  12. Re: new york deer season2006 I'll be in 4P (outside of Roxbury),, can't wait, going scouting next weekend,,
  13. Re: is bow hunting better then rifle Out of experience, and I'm sure many others here will agree, no hunting thrill beats bowhunting. Just seeing deer to me is exciting. When it comes to testing all the tactics you've read and heard about, bowhunting is where you will really put it to the test

    New to Archery

Re: New to Archery Welcome to the forum!! You'll find great people and great information here.. I believe if you are just starting out, try not to spend to much cash on your first bow,, this way if bowhunting is not your thing it won't be to big a loss. Maybe you can find a nice used one. You'll hear great things about the popular brands, but best thing to do is actually hold and shoot as many different ones as you can. Stop by your local Pro shop for some preliminary measurments, pull length, poundage etc etc Good luck!!!
  20. Re: Here\'s a good question I try to make it a family thing whenever possible, but a majority of the time ii's my only source of stress relief,
  21. Re: Homemade Targets I've tried building targets with cardboard compressed between some plywood as well as other ideas, they didn't last very long and of course I made the mistake of leaving them outside in the rain. I found it better and less trouble to simply buy the Cabelas block target,, Good Luck
  22. Re: I\'m Addicted!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most are held by local archery clubs, best place to look is www.3dshoots.com They are always open to the public Good luck

  24. Re: I\'m Addicted!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hear you loud and clear!!! Between July and September, I must hit almost 8 3d Shoots,, with the right group of guys it's the best way to spend the weekend!!.
  25. Re: Taking off Glue? I have yet to switch to carbon, but on aluminum, I scrape off as much as possible with a a sharp razor. I bought a couple of packs of plastic box cutters at the dollar store, they work perfect. I put some acteone on a old dish rag and wipe off any left. so far so good. As for what Vagobbn said about acetone effecting carbon shafts, read that many times.
