  2. I will gladly take a break from this heat. Worst drought in my memory. Ponds are all dried up and most wells are empty. Corn has started to tassel and it's only 3 feet tall. It's going to be a bad one here in NY if we don't get some rain soon.

I would have to call it a tie. For the first half of my deer hunting career I was chucking slugs from my a 16 ga. Remington 1100. Then they allowed us to start using rifles and I switched to my Marlin 30-30. Together they have killed close to 100 deer.
  4. I've had to turn on the heat twice in the last four days. Send some heat up north
  5. I like trophy rocks the best.
  6. Happened to me 3 years ago this summer. Lost a property I've hunted for 31 years. Shot my first deer there. It hurts deep. Hopefully you will find something new.
  7. Take your hunter safety course then join your local sportsman's club. Go to meetings and events at the club, meet people and ask questions. Almost every club around here has a women's program and I would bet yours does too. I would bet a weeks wages that you will make friends and learn plenty from them.
  8. Good to see you back!

    Sir Tristan

Nice, all my deer have names also.
  10. In our neck of New York the turkeys are few and far between. I've seen very few birds in my travels and only one gobbler. I used to hear birds gobbling from my porch in the morning but I havn't heard one in years. I'm taking my daughter out tomorrow but I really don't expect to hear or see anything.
  11. Nice looking rig. The whitetails on the farm must be quaking in fear.
  12. I'm seriously considering a crossbow for next year.

    Morel Season!

To this day I cannot fathom why anyone would stick that fungus in their mouth.
  14. Sweeeeeeet! I'm waiting for Savage to get the kinks out of the A-17 and then I'm getting one.
  15. My experiences with that region in August is plan on VERY humid. May not be that bad for the locals but for us northerners it may be a bit stuffy.
  16. Happy birthday Steve. Stop back sometime!
