Thanks to the generous help of Tominator (Chris) I've finally got the nack of growing sweet corn. However the last few years the coons have been destroying the fruits of my labor. I've tried shooting and trapping but for every one I eradicate, two more come to the funeral. Poison is out of the question so I am buiding a fence. So here is a question for my gardening cohorts here on the forums. Should I use a 3 or 4 foot fence? The cost between a 3 and 4 footer is significant. I don't have a problem with deer. Does anyone else here have to fight off coons in their corn?

We have a huge problem with crows just a few blocks from where I teach. Crow hazing continued in Watertown - YNN, Your News Now Crows are extremely smart. I'm told that if you shoot a few and leave them hanging around and they should get the message and leave.

This snow sucks! Most of our fruit trees and grape vines are blossoming right now and this is not good for them. Its gonna be a bad spring!

A friend of mine on another forum just posted this recently. Just a quick word from a professional Firearms Class III Dealer, not for self or sales promotion I you ever wanted or want to own an AR 15 for instance,, from most any maker, you should start looking and buy one now.The gun and ammo situation particularly on black guns and 223., 7.62x39, 45 acp ammo for instance is getting very very scarce and will be much more expensive.All of the 3 Major Wholesalers of mine have ZERO AR's of any flavor in inventory and have no idea when they will get more.I've never seen a buying frenzy like is happening now.Or ZERO Colts, among most other popular semi autos and long guns...None! So my only purpose in posting this is a word to the wise: Buy what you want NOW.It will only become more of a scarcity and definitely much more expensive. Much worse than 2008, depending on the November election, naturally. My spin on this, Have a $1000 to invest? A savings account might get 3%. An AR-15 nib? Just wait til 2013.

More like hitting a bag of cement. I saw an SUV hit one on Rte 81 a few years ago going about 65 mph. There was a 30 foot ball of feathers. It hit the grill and it looked like it went straight through the radiator.

I've been enjoying the eagle cam this morning. I didn't want to hyjack the thread so I'm going to toss out my question here. Does anyone have a good web cam page that shows deer, turkeys and such? I posted one a few years back that was on the ESPN Outdoors page but that is gone now.
