  1. My work firewall blocked it. Will have to check when I get home.
  2. 1. I get Outdoor Channel, ESPN2, and see that Dish Network is offering a new channel lately The Hunt Channel. The Outdoor Channel gets 95% of my viewing. 2. I like Realtree.tv but they need to update some of the shows. I've watched every episode of Archers Choice.
  3. Chittenango NY. When I was a kid I when pheasant hunting with my dad. I saw one of those crazy horned nontypicals bucks come running out of the brush. It had points going everywhichway. I'm guessing around 170 but it could have been more.

    New Job update

    Congrats on the new job!
  6. These storms have been missing northeast NY but we are going to get our share of this one. I smell a snow day coming!
  7. I would give anything to take my dad on an elk hunt. He has always dreamed of just hearing one bugle. He has bad legs and could never walk the mountains. But just to get him out there would make me so happy.
  8. Way to go Anthony!!! Great buck!!! Thank you for sending me a text!
  9. Gee and I thought $600 was an arm and a leg when I bought my Hoyt last summer.
  10. Joe, what day did you want me to pick you up? Are we going to do this the same as last time? That would work better for me. Probably for getting others to attend as well.
  11. I wanted to try something new and this went over better than I expected. 1 lb. ground venison 1 pkg El Paso low sodium taco seasoning 1 jar of taco sauce ( we used mild because the kids don't like too much spice) 3/4 cup minute rice cooked 3/4 can of Bushes black beans 1 bag Mexican cheese mixture 2 bags of walmart pizza dough Set the bags of pizza dough on the heater to rise. Brown venison then add taco seasoning (follow directions on the pkg), rice and beans. Don't cook-off all of the taco water. It will season your rice and beans. Spread out dough on a large cookie sheet. Then add a thin layer of taco sauce. Spread out the taco mixure and cover with a heavy coat of cheese. Bake at 450 till crust is done but don't burn the cheese. My little experiment was a huge success. The kids inhaled it. We had some of the meat mixture left over so we put it on english muffins with the cheese a couple days later. I kind liked this better myself. Give it a try for your super bowl party!
  12. Hey Diva! If you are going to dig 5 year old posts, this may help.

    School me

My wife taught me this trick and it really works. When you first get home with you head of lettuce take it out of the bag. Next you set it on a the (clean) counter with heal down. Now palm the top of the head of lettuce with both hands. Push down about an inch or two. You will hear a pop or a crushing noise. Doing this free's up the heal. Turn the head over and pluck the heal out with your hand. All done! Removing that heal will add a week or more to your lettuce. Be sure to put the lettuce back the bag and put it in the crisper drawer in the fridge. Believe it or not that drawer does help. Most people just toss their veggies in the fridge and they go bad faster. Good luck.
  14. Andy, I never had a chance to chat with you but I always had respect for you and everything you have done for this forum. I hate to see you leave but if that is your wish, good luck and God bless.

I can tell you how to double the life of a head of lettuce but not the bag stuff.
  16. I will check my schedule when I get home.
  17. Yes, the Outdoor Channel show is nothing more than repeats. I will be glad when Realtree leaves ESPN.
  18. How many times do we read stories every fall about a lost deer and the story teller claims he put on a good shot. T-Bone put a perfect shot on that deer. It doesn't look that low to me. Weeeeird!
  19. Good call. Hope the second half of your prediction comes true. :drink:

    Got it!

Congrats on the capture! My son and I have a trap line down in the cellar. Try this sometime. If you really want to make the trap irresistable, stick one piece of D-Con in the peanut butter. I don't know what they put in the D-Con but mice cannot go by without trying to take it.
