Re: Oh man It sounds like he'll be building a speck house.The bank will give him money to buy a lot and build a house and he'll sell it after it's done.I'm surprised the bank is giving him a loan with him having 0 experience.Framing and hanging board isn't brain surgery,but it can get pretty screwed up if he doesn't know what he is doing. Most speck homes around here have been sitting empty or been rented out just so the contractors can make the payments until they're sold. It sure is a big step and a lot of work.I hope it works out for him.

Re: Favorite hunting show I like pretty much anything to do with hunting,but my favorite is Dream Season.I really like seeing the contestants scout and hunt on their own without guides.Occasionally they'll use guides,but for the most part they are hunting on their own property.I would say Primos-The Truth is my second best.

My neighbors buddy found this deer dead a few weeks ago.He thinks someone shot it during shotgun season and never recovered it.What a bummer.I believe he said it had 26 scoreable points. [image][/image]

Re: Field Dressing 5-10 minutes for me too. If it's a doe and during the rut I cut the tarsals off and hang them on a trail by my stand,but otherwise I just leave them on. The bad part about field dressing a deer fast is everyone else in the gruop wants you to "show them" how you do it so quick.Usually on their deer.

I'll be turkey hunting if I get a permit,but we don't have that many turkeys on our hunting properties. Deer hunting is definately my passion.

I went into a place for a job interview and she was the sectretary.I gave her a wink and she smiled back.I got the job and after talking with her a few times we went out and had a few beers.Our first real date was to a Blues hockey game.These last 5 years we been married have sure flown by.

Re: Need a program. I use the same as Mountain Dragon.I get my coordinates off terraserver them plug them into the site above.They give pretty good aerial photos,and you can add texts to the maps.

I agree that the hunter was in the wrong,but I'm sure that's not the first time that something like this has happened.They should have had a penalty fee in place,of say $1000 if they shoot a smaller buck,like most Illinois outfitters.Sounds like poor judgemant by the hunter,and poor planning by the outfitter.I could see the hunter paying a fine or something,but going to jail and being charged with a felony seems extreme to me. There may be more to this story that we don't know about too.

Most places around here have a 130 or 140" minumim.If a hunter shoots a smaller buck he pays the outfitter a penalty fee of a couple hundred dollars and most places won't let them come back. Sounds like this guide should have had something like that in place. I don't agree that he should be in jail if he wasn't tresspasing or poaching.
