  2. Re: 223 for deer When I was younger I shot 2 deer in about 20 min with a .223. The first was a doe at about 125 yards went through both lungs then tumbled all the way up the inner skin and lodged at the base of the skull deer went 30 yards. found her and started to clean her and my dad went to get the truck and hollored there was a buck coming shot him at 15 yards through both shoulders (which were just shattered) deer went 20 yards. It is a little light and doesn't have a ton of nock down power but a well placed shot and it will do the job. (.223 is the same caliber a lot of military guns are I believe, I was told they were designed to tumble once they kit something, don't know if that is true but makes some sense.)
  3. Re: Picture of meeting Waddell [ QUOTE ] Why is it that your wife looks a lot more thrilled to be smooshed up next to Michael than you do?!?! [/ QUOTE ] She was definately alot more excited about it than I was. When I met her she didn't know a thing about hunting a now she loves, she's shot 2 turkey and is going to bow hunt for deer this year. Nice to have a spouse that shares the same passion as I do, I'm lucky. He had us both laughing alot I asked him about slow motion Walter and he was really funny talking about him.
  4. Re: First 3 shots at 50 yards! Good shooting, that is a nice range you have there.
  5. Re: Picture of meeting Waddell Yea he is pretty tall I'm a touch over 6' so he's probably 6'2" or 3"
  6. My wife and I with Michael in BPS in Springfield. He is a very funny guy. [image][/image]
  7. Re: Blazers! Oh Yeah!!! I am with you I just put some on and tried them with broadheads, they are awesome. I shot thunderheads, nitrons, montecs and all shot great at 50 yds. I shot the same setup with 4 vanes and the nitrons and montecs were about 2" low and the thunderheads about 5" low at 20 yds. I wouldn't have believed the blazers could make that much difference if I hadn't seen it for myself. Great Product.
  8. I have narrowed it down to these 2 sights. Help me decide which one to get. The Extreme is about $15.00 cheaper but I want the better of the two. Any input you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    sights

Re: sights I have a copper john and am happy with it. I have been hearing a lot of good about Extreme's rt900 and also alot about Sword sights both look like they are very nice been thinking about trying one of those myself.
  10. Re: NOW its time for the countdown to BEGIN! Ours opens Sept. 15 I can't hardly take it anymore. Been shooting a lot.
  11. Micheal Waddell was at Bass Pro in Springfield, MO this past weekend for the Fall Hunting Classic. This is the second time I have met him and I don't think you could find a nicer guy, very easy to talk to and just seems like he would be a blast to hang out with. I will post pics later. They had a pop up 3D course there and watched him, Will Primos, Jerry Martin and several others it was a lot of fun seeing them shoot. Also met the Drury guys they are very nice too, actually saw them in the parking lot and pointed them out to my wife and they saw we were looking at them so they came over and talked a minute. Had a great time.
  12. Re: Blackhawk Vapor 4000 Arrows I shoot the Vapors found some at Bass Pro on clearance $40 a dozen. I think Keystone Country Store has them for $50 so I think you found a pretty good deal. I think they are definately worth the price they are a good arrow.
  13. Re: \"Free\" American Broadhead Thanks for the link

  16. Re: 06 bowtech allegiance shooters I went with a QAD ultra rest hunter. I have been very happy with the rest and the bow. With the rest you have the containment feature of the biscuit and the fall away benifits also. In my opinion it is the best rest for $50 out there. The only thing is I took the clamp that ties the rest string to the cable off because it was rubbing the cable, I just tied the rest string into the cable. You will definately not be dissappointed in your allegiance, great bow. Good Choice.
  17. Re: Bow-Tech? I shot both quite a bit and went with the allegiance with smooth mods. Couldn't tell much of a difference in between the tribute and allegiance in smoothness, both are very good bows and you wouldn't be dissappointed in either one. I would suggest shooting both with the speed mods and the smooth mods. I am very glad I went with the smooth mods and it is still very fast. I am shooting a 28" draw and it is shooting just over 300 fps with a 365 grain arrow. You will really enjoy whichever you choose just shoot both as much as you can. Good Luck
  18. Re: Recommendations for gun safe/vault I think that in the Fall Hunting Classic ad I got from Bass Pro they had a special on Browning gun safes that when you buy one you get a pistol with it, I didn't pay to much attention to it but I believe it was a .22 and said a $329 value. I don't think the wife has thrown it out yet but she might have. I will try to check it out. And let you know more details if I still have it.
  19. Re: Shot an \'05 Bowtech I shoot an 06 Allegience. This is my first Bowtech and I couldn't be happier. There is a few guys on here shooting them.
  20. Re: Any info on Big Cedar Hunts Silver, that is how I heard of them, a freind of my dads won a hunt with them at a nwtf banquet and with it came 10 spots at a discounted price. When are you going and have you talked to them at Big Cedar? Thanks everyone else for you input I will keep digging for info on them.
  21. Re: got my tribute Congrats on the Tribute you will love it. I got an Allegiance. Did you shoot both the smooth and fast mods? I think you will really like the smooth mods.
  22. Has anyone ever hunted with Big Cedar Hunts. Any input would be appreciated. Hope the link works. http://www.bigcedarhunts.com/index.htm
