I shot one of the nova 2oga. pumps my dad had. I used it for sporting clays once. I liked the feel of it....shot well too.

I like that there isn't a bunch of music playing when a hunt is unfolding. I like to just hear the natural sounds and the hunters working birds. I also appreciate there are not a bunch of "staged" shooting scenes or bazaar, out of sequence, camera angles when the bird is already in sight.

For my gun, I like #5.

It has definitely been a rough one...I was fortunate to get my buck during November bow season. It hasn't been much fun to get out even to tag another doe. The weather has really been something!

Here's a pic of the buck I took back in November with my bow. Sorry...I have been very busy and didn't get time to post it. Hopefully, I have some more time now to keep checking in. Good luck to the rest!

I shot an 8pt. this morning around 8:30a. He was locked onto a doe that he even bred once while I watched them. He spent 30mins running off 4 other smaller bucks that wanted in on "his" doe. He finally kept pushing the other bucks my direction and eventually exposed himself into bow range. I put a nice quartering away shot on him at 30yds. He ran about 65yds and piled up. It was a good morning. I was afraid that our rut was already over but today proved otherwise! I'll post pics soon and get points added to the board. Well, I haven't had much time to get out. My wife's grandfather died and she headed to the funeral in NC. My oldest boy (8 yrs) and I are home alone and I am going to try getting out on Thursday while he's at school. On the bright side, I did gain two more hunting spots tonight from a guy at church that seem promising!

Way to go oo_buck! I was out hunting some yesterday. I saw a few smaller bucks and one nicer buck chasing a doe while I was heading to my stand...he was moving too fast and too far out for a bow shot! Things are starting to heat up here in Ohio, I may get a shot at a rutting buck soon.

It's finally supposed to cool down around here. Deer movement has been very low prior. I hope to get out some this week. good luck all!

Well, I saw 3 small bucks on Saturday morning and 5 does. It was nice a cool--mid 30's to start the day. The week is kind of warm again so I hope that doesn't shut down the movement too much.

It was 91 degrees here. I can't wait for regular temps!

The heat has been hard for everyone. I've been out a few mornings trying to catch deer on their feet during the cooler part of the day. No luck yet. Can't wait for it to cool down!

it's blue tongue...happening all over KY and a little in OH.

VERSUS is definitely not a "hunting channel." Only one or two nights have hunting...the rest is movies, racing, and hockey. There is actually less on the menu then they're used to be a year ago concerning hunting/fishing shows. I've not been too impressed, especially with the Outdoor Channel and MOR (which I actually liked best...too bad it's gone).

I noticed my battery plate on the bottom of my Excite does not seem to be holding tight against the batteries and it's losing power connection. Has anyone else had this problem...(and/or a solution!?) I've had it for almost a year and this is the first I've noticed anything. Thanks for the help....

I've had good success with the Gander Mountain broadhead target too. I got mine on sale for $30. It has lasted two seasons already.
