Ditto this. Also, as mentioned before, the sewing on the back of the head does look a tad "bunched up", the ears need painted a tad and a little touch up on the nose. Overall though, I think it looks pretty good for the price you paid. Would like to see some pictures of it hanging up on the wall.

Alabama Tuxedo...... LOL! Looks like a great show! Hope Discovery picks it up - I'd definitely watch!

ACK! I hate those things! Back when I worked in a warehouse we were always finding wolf spiders and those things would come AT you! Better believe I was screaming and running! However one time I stomped one in our warehouse, took some things over to another building and when I came back, it was GONE! UGH, now I have the heebie jeebies!

Thanks everyone!! Lewis - I'm thinking $2.50 for a dozen. That's what the going rate is around here as far as I know. I'm going to need more chickens! Tons of people have been asking about them already! They won't be laying for a few more months probably.

Good morning RT friends! Justin put enough finishing touches on the coop Thursday so that I could finally get my chickens out of the kiddie pool in the basement and into their new home OUTSIDE! :toot: He put a lot of hard work into it and I couldn't be more proud of the way it all turned out! There are a few little things left to do including tarring the shingles, adding white trim to all corners, painting the porch, finish putting rocks in and around the run and lastly putting netting over the roof of the run to hopefully keep hawks/owls out. Enough jibber jabber! On to the pics! The residents! Thanks for looking! :chat:

Amen, Lewis! Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day too. With the days upon days of fog we've had lately, God definitely blessed the fisherman with a nice day to bring the last of the pots home. The Brain Wave was quite loaded down today (260 traps) and they came in on low water of all things. Here are a couple pictures my MIL took today. That's my hubster, Justin (aka total disaster here on RT) on the stern getting ready to hop on the wharf to tie up the boat.

My thoughts exactly!! Great shots, as usual!

You are missing out! The nuthatches and goldfinches are hard at work getting some grub this morning and the fog is lingering - inhibiting me from finishing up the paint work on my chicken coop. :2guns: I'm also seeing the backs of my eyelids quite a bit this morning.... struggling to stay awake. NEED.MORE.COFFEE. :turned:

Heck, I WISH we were paying $4.xx let alone $3.xx for a gallon of gas. This $5.00+ is a total killer. I don't know how people afford to put gas in these huge V8's (or even dare buy them!!) all the time and run all over creation. We have a V8 truck and I want to get rid of it SO BAD. We could make a brand new car payment for what we spend on gas for this truck in a month.

YES! Please do, Ruth! Would love to see them!

Oh.... I only did 1.39 x 3.7 ....... LOL.... hence how I came up with $5.14 FYI - I got D's in math class :sleep1:
-
Shaun - Will you recalculate at $1.39 a litre for me? Obviously I'm not very smart. BWAHAH.:clown:
-
Yesterday gas was 1.39 a litre...... so what's that... $5.14 a gallon or something? I've always been terrible at math. Either way.... it's not good. It took $50 to get my 4 cyl. reg. cab Tacoma up to HALF A TANK! I need to invest in a bicycle or moped. LOL

Jeramie - Do you have any trouble with having multiple roos? I'm sure you have plenty of hens to keep them all happy, but I'm wondering if they ever have major scuffles.
-
Lewis - I took this picture JUST for you. Maybe in the future we'll have real children, but I'll stick to my fur children for now. To everyone else - THANKS!

What a great question! Thank goodness I'm only 27..... cause if it was any further back than that, I probably wouldn't remember. HA! When I turned 26 (in September, 2009), I had only been married since June 13th of that year. I had moved 1300 miles from my home state of West Virginia to be with my husband (total disaster - who I met on here!). I now live in the beautiful Province of Nova Scotia, Canada in our new home on 30+ acres, a newlywed being married to a commercial fisherman that is gone 5 days at a time during the summer & I barely knew ANYONE - major adjustment! We had just gotten our 8 week old chocolate Labrador Retriever puppy as well..... and have no kids (still none). Still in the process of getting my permanent residence... :turned:

Also, I'm totally in love with Mr. Fluff. He is extremely handsome. :tt1: Wait..... can chickens be "handsome" ??? LOL
-
Oh my goodness! WOW! Thank you SO much for taking the time to take and post these pictures for me! I love love love your coop. It's HUGE! Maybe next year I can talk Justin into building me one that big. :poke: You can tell all of your animals are well taken care of. Your horses are absolutely gorgeous. I am extremely jealous.

 Thanks Ben. I fixed it in my post.
-
Jeramie - Do you use a heat lamp in the winter or just a low watt red bulb or? I've been wondering about this! Can't wait to see your pics! Fancy or not, sometimes you can get great ideas from others coops! Have you been to the backyardchickens.com site? If not, it's a great source of info, plus there are lots of egg auctions/swaps, etc..!

Many of you already know the Labradorks aka April (chocolate, almost 2) and June (black, 5 months) from Facebook, but for those of you that don't, I wanted to share a few pictures of them and some of their antics. Don't let their cute looks fool you.... because they are NAUGHTY! :angel1: They might annoy me at times :poke:, but definitely keep me entertained and make me laugh each and every day! They are the loves of my life, 2nd only to Justin. Enjoy! Begging for veggies! Are you STILL on the computer?? Can't wait for when she's 65lbs.+ and tries this..... she LOVES to sleep up there. Double Trouble APRIL, get DOWN! Begging for MORE veggies... Trying to sneak a drink of Mom's coffee Lastly...... one of April's favorite places to sleep before we moved the couch. Thanks for looking!

Congrats again Ashley! Justin and I are both so happy for you! Love the pictures! You looked beautiful (as always!)!

Ugh.... I know. Dreading that part. We're putting poop boards under the roosts to hopefully help with SOME of that inside the coop. I'm also going to do the 'deep litter method' in the coop..... but outside is a different story...... oh dear. LOL.
-
Very cool! What kind did/does she have? If I end up with a nasty rooster, I won't hesitate to introduce him to my steel toed boots and if that doesn't work..... then the .22 might get through to him. LOL! About coyotes and such.... that's a major concern for me. When we are finished with the coop, I'm hoping it will be like Fort Knox. The only free range time they'll have in the yard is when I'm outside with them working in the yard. I know no matter what I do, I'll lose a few here and there, but I guess that's just a part of keeping them...
