  1. You really should get some! It's so much fun watching them and seeing the different personalities. Mine are all really friendly and enjoy being held. VERY easy to take care of. Make sure they have food, water and clean living area and ta-da - you're done! I wish the Labradorks were that easy to take care of.
  2. Nice! Would love to see your coop set up and pictures of your chickens!! I wanted them for eggs mainly, but to also keep the bugs tamed down a bit as well. I'm already looking to get a few Polish chicks but am having a hard time finding them locally. I can already see that having chickens is going to be quite addicting. Do you happen to do any poultry shows or do you just keep them as your barnyard flock? I'd love to get into showing, but have no idea where to even start.
  3. Justin and I have around 30+ acres and I figured I might as well have some animals on it (besides the Labradorks!). So after much pleading, pouting , and begging.... I finally got 8 - day old chicks. They are Blue Laced Red Wyandottes and boy were they ever cute little fluff balls! Here is their brooder. The Labradorks kiddie pool for the summer with lobster pot wire around the top. Here are a couple at 3 weeks old. .....and I took this picture on Sunday night at 5 weeks old. :jaw: Justin has been super sweet and built me a really nice coop for them but it's not finished yet and we're obviously running out of time. LOL!! :48: We are planning to use a pen that we built to use for April during the summer, but it never got used so it will be moved down to the coop to use for a run. There is still a lot to do, finish the roosts, pop door, windows, ventilation, adding white trim, repainting the door and painting the hinges black, painting the rest of the interior.......predator proofing..... etc.. :48: The lumber on the roof is to keep the shingles on until we have time to tar them. We get pretty high winds here at times. Oh, and for anyone that's wondering.. that's my greenhouse on the right with tomatoes, green beans, bell peppers, peas and carrots growing in it! I'll try to make new posts with updates on this as I have time. If you've made it this far....... thanks for reading!

    Time to go

Drive safe! Sounds like you have a lot of fun times planned! Excited for you!
  5. LABS! Our chocolate, April will be 2 years old in July and she went hunting with us for the first time in the duck blind last Fall. She did AMAZING! Whistle trained her ourselves and everything. Our black lab, June just turned 5 months old the other day and will be in the duck blind this Fall also. IF she learns as fast as April, hubby will take one dog in one blind and I'll take the other dog in another blind. Here's the Labradorks...
  6. Justin (total disaster aka hubster) sent me a text early yesterday morning and I knew something had to have happened. I listened to the search plane all morning/afternoon and kept waiting and waiting to hear that they had at least found his body, but to no avail. Such terrible, terrible news. We didn't know Ward, but many of our friends did - our prayers go out to them and Ward's wife, kids and extended family. I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through. May you Rest in Peace, Ward.
  7. This is one of my favorites!
  8. Agreed! Loved it when he drove Suby's!
  9. My chocolate lab is a power chewer and has not managed to splinter/chip one yet - which is also why they're so popular. If anything, the only way you would have to replace one is if it was chewed down to a size where the dog would be in danger of swallowing it.
  10. I bought ours.... so I wouldn't have a clue. Sorry! I'm assuming with a mitre saw or something?
  11. I'm certainly not dogdoc , but just had to add that our two labs have antler sheds to chew on. Most times they are cut down like this to keep from sharp edges: http://www.bestbullysticks.com/home/bbs/page_123_25/large_antlerz.html Notice how much these things go for? Our dogs LOVE them! Have heard of the rare time or two though that a dog has broken a tooth on one where they are so hard but we haven't had any issues. IMO they are better/tougher than 99% of the dog chew toys you can buy.
  12. After something like 12 large coffees..... I FINALLY won a free coffee! WOOHOO!
  13. Um, absolutely. :tt1: :clown: If anyone even dared to speak while that episode or any other one was on.... I would immediately shush them. LOL! Needless to say... I'm a big Waddell fan.
  14. Love the waxwing shots! What kind of camera/lens are you using?
  15. I know I've had 8-10 large coffee from TH and not won ANYTHING!  I must have the worst luck ever!
  16. Complete devastation. I can't even begin to fathom what those people are going through over there. God be with them.
  17. I'm here......! :ninja: Justin and I have been extremely busy cutting/hauling wood out in preparation for next winter. We also got a new labrador retriever puppy that has been keeping us on our toes for the last month or so! :hammer1: Here's our future backyard - you can kind of see the wood we had stacked and cut from last year, as well as some logs we dragged out by hand this year. ...... and who doesn't love puppy pictures? Here's June doing what she does best...........which is being adorable. Can't forget my beautiful chocolate girl April.......
  18. GEEZ! Now I don't feel so bad. LOL! Either you have terrible luck like I do... or the 1 in 6 wins is a bunch of bull.
  19. Justin has won 1 donut and 1 coffee and I've won NOTHING! :bang:
