  1. This might sound really stupid... but I am completely freaked out by sloths! If I'm watching a show on the Animal Planet channel, and a sloth comes on there..... I feel the urge to throw up, I'm covering my eyes, and grabbing for the remote as fast as I can! Their little squished up faces and long arms with claw things on the end........ UGH. NASTY! :( Besides that whole issue, I'm not a fan of spiders AT ALL. I would prefer a snake or something like that, rather than a spider. Especially the huge ones we have like the brown recluse or wolf spiders! AHH! LOL.
  2. Not a Blake fan here either. I'm just not impressed with him at all. It's neat that he does do something a little different that's never been seen before on there but I'm just not crazy about it. The way his mouth looks when he sings just annoys me for some reason. On the other hand, I'm crazy about Jordin and Melinda. After last week I could have swore that Jordin would be going home this week, talk about a shocker!
  3. Tim - I'll definately make it for either the Pittsburgh or Wheeling one....! I have an Aunt that lives in Pittsburgh so I would have someone to stay with there. I might even be able to get my b/f Justin (total disaster) down to make it to one with me. We'll see!!
  4. Those are some purdy rainbows! A rapala in the hand huh? I thought getting a barb in the shoulder by a lucky craft lure was bad enough, but I can't imagine having a fish still attached while you're trying to get unhooked. OUCH! I bet that was some real pain right there through, cause 3/4 of the time a rainbow doesn't really fight hard until you get it out of the water. I feel your pain!!
  5. Yup, sure am! I thought of that not long after I got calmed down and everything. :D
  6. Yep, I'm just fine. The impact of the lure hitting my shoulder scared me more than anything. I wouldn't even look at it after it happened. I was afraid it was worse than what it was and more barbs were stuck in besides just one. Ohhhhhhh well. It was just an accident and can happen to anyone!
  7. My stay up here in Nova Scotia just keeps getting better and better! On Tuesday, Justin and I took his bass boat and went fishing on a different lake to try our hand at catching a couple fish there. Justin started out the day by catching a 14" smallmouth and not long after that I caught my first trout! It was only 10" long but keep in mind that it's a native, not a stocked trout like I'm used to catching. I was SO proud. After that, Justin caught a couple nice bass and I wasn't catching anything so I switched over to a lure similar to what he was using and within a few casts I hooked my first smallmouth ever! 17 1/2" and 2 pounds 10 ounces. Talk about a fight! Whew! I never knew bass put up a fight like that, I can't imagine getting ahold of a real big one! Justin and I caught a couple more bass, the largest being mine which was another 17 1/2" smallie weighing 2 pounds 12 ounces. We had such a great day..... I'm hoping we go again today, and the day after that, and the day after that! I'm hooked!
  8. Andrea - we used minnows and fished them really slow. The water up here is still pretty cold and the fish are still a little slow moving so we catered to their needs. We might go bass fishing today so hopefully our luck will be as good as it was on Sunday!
  9. Well, with Justin (total disaster) as my guide.... we took his boat out yesterday for my 2nd ever trip pickerel fishing! It was a beautiful day yesterday, not much wind..... so we hit the lake with hopes of catching a few. Justin started off catching a couple, including 2 over 20" long (show off!).... but I wasn't having as good of luck. I may have started off slow but after I got the hang of it a little better, I hooked a smaller 13 - 14" pickerel and in the next couple casts after that, I hooked a huge 27 incher! We got him in the boat after a little bit (LOL) of a struggle and slapped him on the stringer. After that I was super pumped and caught quite a few...... as well as hook several more, losing a few here and there. Oh well! All in all though, Justin and I had the BEST time ever! This will be a hard day to beat!! The 3 big ones in front of me in this pic are mine, and the 4 big ones in front of Justin are his.... My big papa pickerel!
  10. Thanks everyone!! Now I just need to convince him to let me take it back home with me to shoot some squirrels.
  11. Lewis.. I know it's no laughing matter as far as lobstering goes, but I went out to move my truck earlier and almost got blown away.... LOL. It took everything I had to keep my truck door from blowing open! Seriously though, this weather needs to straighten up, and soon.... because I really need to get Justin out of my hair and back to work. LOL!!!!!!
  12. Re: basement fun ( pics ) Ya know, I am coming up next month... maybe I can talk Justin into coming over to play against ya sometime. That is.. if I'm welcome. Think I could get a flower this time? LOL

    Embarassed

Re: Embarassed LOL. Yup! But instead, it was back during the summer and as I was pulling into the parking lot at work (with my window down!!), I looked around and didn't see anyone standing on the outside of the building so I belted out the last couple lines to the song I was listening to and in mid-sing I looked over and there was one of the coworkers on my shift, staring at me as I pulled into my parking spot. He never said anything to me but did smirk at me while we were all gathered around the time clock, waiting to clock in for work that day.
  16. Re: No school..snow pics I didn't wanna scare the deer.... DUH! Besides, our back patio is a solid sheet of ice and I don't know about y'all but I'm not much of an ice skater.
  17. Re: No school..snow pics Yup, what he said! LOL. I live in the southern part of the state but here's a pic I took this evening just before it got dark. None of that white stuff is snow.... that's all freezing rain, piled up real nice. *rolls her eyes* Excuse the quality of the pic, it was taken from a bedroom window with a screen in it.

  20. Re: Women show us your ..... My 8 point (first buck!) from the first day of rifle season in 2005! He's no monster but the memories I have from this hunt was well worth the money I paid to have him mounted! OH! and no clowning me over the glow in the dark stars on the ceiling, they're a pain in the rear to take down...! The ones on the wall have already been removed.... but the ceiling ones are a different story.

I've seen how goofy the bulls are during mating season though.... and I would probably be peein in my pants if one got that close to me. Great pics!
