    FOBS??

Was wondering, how do you get a complete "pass through" with a FOB attached?
  3. Just heard on TV (Fox), that Jesse Jackson was arrested outside Chuck's Gun Shop in Chicago for trespassing. He was picketing/protesting this gun shop and evidently someone had had "enough". Good deal! And about time!
  4. Rancher Steak Rub from Wildtree Herbs is what we use, ummmmmmmmmm!
  5. Prayers sent Swamphunter, from WV, keep us posted! Terry.

    Repulsive!!

I think that show is called "Redneck Adventures" if I remember right. Don't like that kind of "hunting" either,,,,,,,very unsportsmanlike in my opinion.
  7. Just heard on Fox that the shooter at Va. Tech. had just purchased at least one of the guns, the Glock I think, last month, filed the serial #'s off one or both pistols that he used. He also had previous charges against him for something, don't know what yet, with a hearing/trial due next month. Sounds like possibly a legal system screw up of some kind. No, more gun control laws won't work in a case like this, in fact, since nobody around this mishap had a ccw permit to stop him there were too many firearm restrictions already in place. They just said the charge against him back in March was a "criminal" charge of some kind. Probably shouldn't have been out of jail to begin with IMO.
  8. 89importeater, here in WV we have to stop hunting and be out of the woods by 1 pm. in the Spring Gobbler Season. Think it reduces accidental hen kills since most brooding hens stay on the nest while it's cold and don't leave it until the day warms up so as not to kill the unhatched poults.
  9. Re: Synonym Challenge I thot moast everyone awready did this anyhoo!
  10. Re: best choke to use with slugs Gobblerbuster618, my gun, like yours, says to never shoot slugs through it due to the overbored barrel. You may be able to get a slug barrel for it but mossy warns against shooting slugs through the barrel that comes with them.
  11. Re: A lifelong goal almost in my grasp! Swamphunter, I know, I think, that you were just using the donut remark I made (as a joke) as an example of what he might hear occasionally, although I'm sure Kat has already heard it. If you only knew me you would know I am kidding. I have more relatives and friends that are either current LEO's or retired from it. Everything from local, county, state, SS, and CIA, whom I hunt and shoot with. Some of the "local" includes Detroit area and Washington DC. The only thing different about all of them and yourself is that they have a sense of humor. No harm meant.
  12. Re: A lifelong goal almost in my grasp! Get a headstart on your donut eating, start practicing now!
  13. Re: Blantons Blog Comments I tried to read the "blog" but with the color of the background it is printed against, was too much of a challenge. Hurt my eyes trying to read and decided it wasn't worth it. Will read if background changes where I can read it.
  14. Re: Has anybody ever seen an albino doe or buck alive? Seen a few around here while flying around in one of our Piper's or Cessna's. One got shot a few years ago, out of season by out of state hunters, at night! Bad way to go. They got caught also.

    Need a dog name

Re: Need a dog name He's a "Buster" if I ever saw one.
  16. Re: Charles Daly choke ???????????????????? Sorry AJ, guess I was just going by the rem.com site after reading about their new wingmaster hd load and how much better it performs than the "last generation" hevi-shot. Also noticed they don't list it in their shotgun ammo on this site anymore. They also talked about it being easier on barrels and chokes and would accept "choking" better. Maybe I assumed too much.
  17. Re: Charles Daly choke ???????????????????? mohunter, as per charlesdaly.com site, top banner, "support", find frequently asked questions, you will find where the Rem. Choke does indeed fit that particular gun. But, I don't think they are approved for hevi-shot, which by the way isn't made anymore. There are several brands of high density shot available. Rem. now loads Wingmaster HD, which has replaced hevi-shot, is more choke friendly, and the pellets are actually round. From what I've read, hevi-shot does not like to be choked a great amount, just doesn't pattern correctly. The new HD shells will take more "choking". The smaller the shot size=the more choke they like. Hope this helps.
  18. Re: another city person from illinois trying...... Outlaw the .50's===get a .52 or a .54, LOL.
  19. Re: Need Help finding the right scope bases Go to midwayusa.com, left menu=binoculars, scopes, and other products and select MORE, then you will see bases, mounts, and adapters, choose winchester, then model 70 s/n 66,350 and above, then choose wsm's, should have 4 choices, OK?
  20. Re: shotgun barrel length [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I was about 7 feet tall walking through the woods. That flagpole of a barrel caught on all kinds of limbs and tried to flip me over backwards on many occasions. [/ QUOTE ] LOL I bet that was a sit to see!! [/ QUOTE ] Talk about a site to see, LOL. My brother in law had a Marlin 120 12ga. Magnum Pump with the 40" MXR barrel. He couldn't find a case to fit it so my wife made him one out of an ironing board cover. Worked nice but she didn't think about it being PINK! He wouldn't use it. One day I was with him in his jeep turkey hunting and we saw some (in the fall, either sex legal), and he about totalled the inside of that jeep trying to get it out of there, LOL. Now that's a site to see!
  21. Re: Need Help finding the right scope bases I heard my bro's. say that the wsm models require a different base/bases than other models. I don't know for sure because I don't have (and won't have) a wsm or wssm or saum or rum or any of the "new" unnecessary expensive answers to problems that didn't exist, ha.
  22. Re: Single Shot Shotguns [ QUOTE ] I dont know much about turkey huntin with a single shot shotguns. [/ QUOTE ] Before all of today's special turkey guns/turkey chokes came about, that was the way they were hunted,,,,with a single shot "long tom" shotgun. Some had 40" barrel, but most were 32"-36". The 40" was on a Marlin 120MXR which was a pump.

    Candles

Re: Candles Candles, incense, etc. always makes me wonder what smell you are trying to hide. LOL
  24. Re: Turkey Guns LOL. Hey guys, I didn't say the turkeys "flew away". But the grouse did, and these stories are true. Also, the turkey shot with the .44 mag. (3 times) was shot with 240 gr. "Hollow Points". Enough feathers to stuff a pillow with. Guess these Preston County turkeys are just TOUGH. May have to borrow my cousins .50 Barrett to rifle hunt them up here, LOL.
