  2. Happy Birthday Chris!!! Hope you have a great one bud!!
  3. Again, I'll just say stay safe everyone out there and best of luck to y'all.
  4. That is a really really nice buck Dan. I would have found it hard to pass him up with my bow. Congrats on the deer buddy!!!
  5. That's right, look out world!!! HAHA J/K. For the first time in my college career i'm going on Spring Break next semester in March. Decatur P.D. has been awesome in allowing me take the week off so I can go. I am going to be going with about 13 friends from school. We are flying out of Chicago O'Hare on Monday March 8th at 5:30 am, landing in Miami around 9:30, then on the Royal Caribbean Majesty for a 5 day 4 night trip to Key West, the Bahamas and 1 other island. This will be the first time I have ever flown so I'm glad I'm going to be with a bunch of people who know what they are doing. It will also be the first trip east of Illinois that I remember. I went to Tennessee when I was about 4 but I do not remember that trip. I am psyched. This is going to be an awesome vacation with a bunch of great friends. I'm gonna try to take a ton of pictures and I'll be thinkin of all my IL brothers and sisters freezin their butts off while i'm running around on a beach in the Bahamas!!! HAHAHA:D:clown:
  6. Congrats again!!!! You are outhunting me this year so far. I'm glad I didn't make the same bet with you as I did Jared!! HAHA Great buck!!
  7. Great buck!! Congrats to your friend. That deer is just awesome.
  8. Was a good first 2 weekends for me with a lot of deer sightings and two doe kills with my bow. No shooter buck sightings on stand this year and only 1 last year, so you're doing better than me this year than I have in the last 2 combined on that note slug. Deer movement seems to have slowed down for me since the middle of Oct. I'm hoping this weekend things pick up as shotgun season comes in on Friday.
  9. Weekend was slow here. Only deer I saw was a doe and fawn on Sunday morning in the rain. Stuck it out for an hour in a steady rain waiting for a buck to trail them then gave it up. Went back out that evening in another steady rain and didn't see anything. Shotgun season comes in Friday. Not sure what property I'm going to be hunting, it really depends on wind direction. I will more than likely be on one of 2 properties where we either have big buck sightings or big buck sign.
  10. Sorry for the triple post. My internet wasn't working so I guess I hit the quick reply button 3 times... HAHA:clown: Couldn't hunt Friday because I had to work, Yesterday hunted in the morning, didn't see anything. Hunted this morning, saw a doe and a fawn but nothing else. Went out in the rain tonight and didn't see anything. 1st shotgun season comes in Friday and runs till Sunday so I'm hoping to get a crack at one of those big bucks. I would have loved to have taken one of them with my bow, but I will be just as happy with one of them during shotgun season.
  11. What a beautiful and unique mount. Welcome home Daisy;)
  12. That giant I saw this summer was seen Wed. night 35 yards from a stand that I've hunted all year by a good family friend. He did not take the shot as he is not comfortable shooting that far. Dad and him put a stand up yesterday(Thurs) on the other side of the pond about 5 yards from a trail the deer use a lot. I will have my butt plastered there for a few hours in the morning before I head to work. Hopefully I can get a crack at on the big bucks out there. Will keep y'all updated as I get the chance!!

  15. That is a dandy buck Ruth. The others that have been posted are great looking bucks too. Ben, you've showed me that picture before and I still almost passed out looking at him.
  16. Yep, that's it.. YOU'RE GONE!!!!!!!!! LOL. J/K That's awesome you got your first mulie Dawg. Congrats! I didn't even get to hunt this weekend due to working 33.5 hours Friday-Sunday. Although I did see some rutting activity while I was hauling corn. Hopefully the weather will hold and my boss can get the crops finished up this week while I'm at school and next weekend I'll be able to hunt and hopefully get a chance on a nice buck.
  17. Congrats!! That's a great buck!! Terrible to hear about the meat being bad though. Probably a blessing he walked in front of you and you took him instead of him having to die what probably would have been a slow painful death.
  18. Exactly what I was going to say. I have killed deer during the day when it has been warm, but things definitely slow down during the day and pick up at night when the weather is really warm.
  19. I don't do anything special to stay in shape in the off season compared to during the season. I try to lift weights 4 times per week, which has not happened much this year due to school. Hopefully I will get back into it in January as things will hopefully slow down. I also love playing basketball and I try to do that as much as possible year-round as well.
  20. The Kid, IMO that last buck ain't worth shooting around here, at least not for me. I would definitely let that deer walk another year and see what he turns into. It's a tough angle to tell exactly what he is, but I would let him walk.
  21. Wow, just got to this thread. Chris, buddy, prayin for ya from IL. You get better man and it's good to hear you're moving around some. I'll keep thinkin bout ya and prayin for ya bud.
  22. That is an awesome buck!! It looks like he has a drop tine that is broken off on his right side.... Tell your buddy congrats!!!
