Well season is over here. Hunted my best property last night and tonight and only saw 3 does. Had a heckuva a start to the season taking does the 1st two weekends but things went downhill from there. I'll be back at em again next year. Good luck to anyone who still has a season open.

I might pick up a new diaphragm call in February at the deer and turkey classic, but I got my new turkey vest at Bass Pro last summer, $40 off!! I was pretty excited. I didn't need a new vest, but I wanted a bigger one and and I had a gift card to Bass Pro so I got it. Hopefully it works out well this year.

Went well. 6 details, all relatively minor stuff, minor thefts or disorderly conducts for the most part. Things are off to a good start! Thanks for all the well-wishes everybody!

And I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'm doing it with a city police department that is extremely busy. I'm excited about having this opportunity but i'm also worried. I hope things go well. I'm starting out of 1st shift(7am-3pm) which is usually pretty slow so i'm going to work my way into it. I'll keep y'all updated how things are goin!

Well due to bitterly cold temps and working this week, I was unable to go bowhunting to try and harvest a buck. Chances are if I go next weekend I will be hunting with my gun but if it warms up enough I might take the bow and go to the best spot I have to hunt and try to harvest a big 9 pt that I saw 2 weeks ago, but it doesn't look good for me to upgrade. Sorry everyone.

I consider my max range to be 40 yards. I may try to extend that to 45 or 50 this offseason if I can do the shooting necessary. I think that anyone can shoot as far as they feel comfortable. A taxidermist close by my hometown killed a B&C moose at 90 yards... yes, the kill shot was at 90 yards. I didn't believe it at first, but he had evidence to back it up. He can shoot a 5 inch group at 80 yards. Like I said, I think an ethical shot is up to each individual person and how confident they are in their equipment and themselves.

It coulda been a lot worse Kyle. Glad it's not going on her record. I'm headed to traffic court for on Thursday for an accident I was in that was my fault and I got a failure to yield ticket out of the deal. I hope I can get court supervision and keep it off my record.

No, I gave him to a friend who traps yotes and he wanted the glands and I'm not really able to afford having the hide tanned. I think the guy I gave it to might try to skin him and sell the pelt.

It's all in the practice and finding a call that you like and that fits your mouth good. Primos makes a good call that comes to a narrower point at the back, I think they call them an A-frame call. It definitely was a good call that helped me learn to call and get the mechanics down right. http://www.proschoicelures.com/cart/catalog/Turkey-Calls-Hillbilly-Custom-Game-Calls-p-1-c-27.html I use the White Lightning call at the site listed above and I absolutely love it. I found out about these guys at the IL Deer and Turkey Classic last year, picked up one of their calls and immediately I was sounding better than I have ever sounded on a mouth call. It takes a long time and a lot of time with the call in your mouth. One thing that might help is just take the call and put it in your mouth while you're sitting down in the evening or something and just have it there and put it up in the roof of your mouth and hold it there a while and just get used to the feel of the call in your mouth. That helped me out a lot.

Went out this morning and killed a coyote. Headed back out tonight to sit on a picked corn field.. hopefully they move on the verge of this cold front coming in tonight. Good luck everyone who is out there!
