  1. Anyone that uses or wants to buy the NAP SPITFIRE MAXX 100 GR. or 125 GR. broad heads, Dicks Sporting Goods has them in a 4 pack for $39.99. The same price everyone else has for a 3 pack.
  2. Hey team, I will be heading up to Wisconsin in 2 weeks for a couple of days then back here in Illinois Oct. 1st. I set up a few more stands this year for the wind directions and planted a couple food plots where I have managed to change the pattern of the deer so my chances are great for a west wind which kills me all the time. Good luck everyone

  4. I've been planting my tomato's in the same spot for the last 13 years, and this is the best way to grow tomatoes with the highest yield and less maintenance with no disease problems. Depending on how many plants, I plant 16 plants, 4 rows , each plant 3 ft. apart. Each row sits in a trench with the soil raised about 8-12 '' above the trench itself on each side . Before planting lay out some black plastic covering the entire area. Home Depot sells rolls of it , different sizes. Add extra lengths because of the mounds from the trenches . Next what I do is lay out 2x4's around the whole perimeter and some bricks so the wind doesn't lift the plastic or just throw some soil one the edges. Then cut 8-10'' circles where you want the plants to grow. Plant the tomato's, and install some type of cage to help support the plants and aid in keeping the plastic in place around the plant. Last add some type of mulch whether it be grass clippings or wood to cover the exposed soil around the plant and your done. No pulling weeds all season, barely have to water , all the rain water is concentrated into the trenches where the plants are. I might water my plants the once or twice when first planted to get them going the first week or two, but after that ,only under very dry conditions. The plastic aids in keeping the soil moist throughout the season. Not only does the plastic prevent weeds, it also builds up enough heat in the soil to kill any bacteria or disease that will harm your plants. The plastic also rids of insects such as gnats or worms that ruin your fruits.Tomato's love heat heat and humidity. If desired or needed you can throw some fertilizer around the outside or in between each plant on the plastic and when watered it will wash in on its own. I've been doing it this way for the last 20 years , and you will be very happy with your results.
  5. Sorry team, not that it matters but my PC crapped out on me and I never entered my bird, I hope everyone had a great season.
  6. Hey team , scored on a nice bird this past weekend up in Wisconsin . It had an 11' beard, 7/8" spurs , and weighed 26 lbs. Seen alot more birds this year compared to last , I think due to the mild winter. I will be hunting here in Illinois next week, I don't think we can upgrade anyway. Good luck to everyone still hunting .
  7. Hey team, i will be hunting at the end of the month in Wisconsin and the second week of May here in Illinois. Any idea's for a team name ? I will try to think of some. Looks like a great team, good luck everyone.
  8. Sorry team, it was a bust for me this year. I had alot of opportunities, but opted to pass. The weather really did me in. Seen some really nice bucks but never close enough and the ones that were i always came up with a reason why i shouldn't shoot them, some i have regrets some not. With the exception of not harvesting a deer, I had a really good season , the whole experience of being out there is most satisfying to me. Great team , had fun.
  9. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Congrats to all that harvested a deer. I spent the first week of Nov. bowhunting and seen some monsters, but never came in range and past up some really nice bucks since. I missed out on the the first IL gun season and the whole WI gun season this year. I will be hunting most weekends til the season is over usually see alot of nice bucks when the cold sets in. Almost had a shot at a big 10 this morn but a load of turkeys flew across the creek and he turned about 70 yards out. This weekend looks promising as long as the wind is right.I still see bucks running doe's around so thats a good sign. Good luck to everyone
  10. Congrats to everyone who has scored and to your son Randy. Ive been out a few times and passed lots of doe's and small bucks but yet to see a shooter. I usually don't fill any doe tags until the cold sets in for good so I'm not forced to butcher the deer right away. I will be off work next week so i will be hunting 2 or 3 days, hopefully it gets as cold as they say it will. I am so looking forward to sweet November. Good luck to everyone!
  11. Good luck Dave and welcome to the team. I will be heading up to Wisconsin tomarrow and hunting Sun. and Mon. to try to get some horn on the ground. Good luck to everyone else!
  12. Hey team , just ckn in. Looks like a great team. I will be hunting Wisconsin and Illinois . As far as team names here is one. " Deerlirious "
  13. More than likely if you took him your deer head frozen , he probably did not let it thaw out completely before he started on it and tore the hair .
  14. Shot this guy 2ND day of 2ND season here in Illinois. He came out of the woods across the field where I had my decoys set so I hit the box call hoping to get his attention , not sure if he heard me or not due to 25-30 mph winds, but he started barrelling across that field like no tomorrow. After about half way out came 4 Jake's that took off right behind him. He came right up to the 2 hen decoys and circled around them a couple of times , started to look uninterested so I took the shot. As soon as he started flopping those 4 Jake's ran up to him gobbling and started beating the crap out of him. That lasted about a minute til they walked off into the woods gobbling the whole time .It was a good morning 20 lbs , 9 1/2 beard, 3/4 inch spurs
  15. I love them, they are great when shooting long distance's and low light. I shoot the Trophy Ridge Alpha V5 micro pins. It would be hard to go back to horizontal pins after using vertical pins.
  16. Here is where i get all my hard to find seed from, they have a great selection. You have to keep checking there website because a lot of seed sells out quick when it becomes avail. , especially early spring. http://www.browningseed.com/bsstore/index.php?main_page=index
  17. All this thing is going to do is jack up the prices of all other bows. Pretty soon, if not already, all the other bow makers will be coming out with a bow in comparison and it will give them an even larger playing field when pricing out a bow.
  18. For the past couple years there have always been left over tags for the 4,5,and 6th seasons, so just keep an eye on the website when they are avail.
  19. I shoot the QAD Ultra Rest also, it is extremely quiet as long as the felt is on the rest . I used to shoot the whisker bisc. and one of the main reasons I switched was when it had any ice build up it sounded like a violin when I drew back, still loved it though. Those would be the rests I would recommend to anybody.
  20. The spring turkey permits are now available . Link below to check to see what season you have. Good luck! https://jc.activeoutdoorsolutions.com/wi_customer/app/custSearchSubmit.do
  21. Would not want to be using Tbone's arrow heads.
