  1. The Carbon Matrix is a diffrent beast. Its a bow that you either love or hate. With the fact that Hoyt will only run a limited production of them and the cost to actually build one the price is going to be high. Will there be people who buy one??? Of course, will I uhhhhhhhhh no, I like to be able to come home and sleep in comfort without the fear of being castrated in my sleep. Now for the other bows I will say that Hoyt did answer the demands once again. For the guys that wanted a speed bow they came out with the Alphaburner. 340 IBO and the great thing about Hoyt is how conservative they are with their speed. If it says 340 then after some tweeking it will get 350. As a matter of fact i read a post somewhere else where a guy shot a 350gr arrow 70lbs@ 28.5" draw and got 333!!!!!! Thats smoking considering that ALL IBO speeds are based on a 30" draw. For those that dont know, the longer the draw the faster the bow even at the same draw weight and arrow weight The Maxxis 31,35 are the premier hunting bow. Short ATA and light weight with a beyond parallel design when at full draw. The target side of the house got an unexpected re-vamp also. There is no longer the Ultra or Pro elite's:bummed: however the Contender Elite has the all the bonuses of the Pro and Ultra with a riser that is neither reflexed or deflexed and the new limb pocket design. Once again in my OPINION Hoyt really hit the nail on the head with the new bows. That Alphaburner will definetly be my shooters bow this year!!!! Loving those spirals the more I shoot them!!!
  2. I remember 4 yrs ago I was hunting one of my favorite spots that I waited to hunt with the right wind. I snuck in and got set up and waited. After a night of good activity I went to leave, as I walked across the picked cornfield I hear something behind me in the stalks. I turned around and it stopped, I walked and it started again. I walked faster and no matter what, it was always right behind me. I was really starting to worry about what the heck it was, I turned quick and I hear the thing to my left. I then start to look around in the dark with no light trying to find out what it is. After a few minutes I take off on a jog and I hear it again. I get out of the cornfield and in to the grass strip and then I see it. Its white and it is hoping and jumping after me, I take off running and its on me no matter what I do. I turn around to kick it and thats when I realize what it was, and at that moment I told myself that I would never tell anyone what happened that night. it was my dang drag rag I had wrapped around my boot walking in. I forgot I put it on and it was about to be the death of me that night!!! Had to wash my scent lok that night because i was sweating so much from be paranoid and the fact my fat butt was running with 1200 gram lacrosse boots.
  3. LOL it wasnt his land but he is the only one that can hunt it. I scored it and got 182 1/8ths and then he took it to a local shop who also scored it at 182 4/8ths. Didnt do the net, I'm not a big fan of net scores.
  4. Ok this must have been what my Girlfriend was talking about when she says I dont pay attention.................. i opened this up thinking the title said lost tracking midget. My bad.
  5. Well I took overtime wednesday night and less than an hour into my shift my girlfriends dad calls and asks if I can help him when I get off work in the morning. He says he killed a big 12 and he was going to leave him until the morning. Needless to say it was a long night for both of us but we made it out to the spot where he shot him. We picked up the blood trail and followed it maybe 60-70yrds and there he was. He said that he thought that he heard him drop but didnt want to take the chance. This is his largest buck to date and its going to be tough to get much better. He has it all, 18 scorabel points, identical kickers on both G-2's, split browtine, a mainbeam with 3 points going straight out on the end and a 6" droptine!!!! I scored him and so did a local archery shop and we came up the exact same score, well they had 6/8ths and I had 1/8ths. But the gross score was the same. So I will leave the score off and let you guys have fun and guess the score. I will post it on sunday. And yes there were some field photos taken but I dont have my camera here to upload them.
  6. Its a alphamax riser with the new bear cam and limbs. If you noticed the bow only has a single cam. Dont ever see hoyt going back to that. From what I have "heard" though is that they are coming out with a pre-loaded limb bow. Also that they are coming out with the fastest bow that hoyt has ever made. I'm not a fan of the pre-load limbs but it seems like alot of companies are going to them, PSE then Mathews now Bear and possibly Hoyt.
  7. Tonz your looking at a high 50's maybe 60's buck. Hurry up and kill him so I can get an accurate score.
  8. Heck Tonz you think thats bad, I still havent even got my arrows set up yet or even decided which ones I'm going to shoot and the season opens in exactly 1 hr 19min!!!!!!! Now thats a moron thing to do.
  9. Man MCH that is awesome!!! Thanks. I need to get rid of somethings, the little one is going to be in Nov. and some toys have to go.
  10. Anyone interested in a sure-loc supremen with 2 scopes?? If so let me know.
  11. Ooops better post the pics huh
  12. Here are the pics. You can see this thing is in great condition.
  13. Well ladies and gentlemen welcome to one of the biggest rights violations that I have ever heard of!!!!! The goverment wants to be able to control every aspect of your life and this is a prime example!!!! http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=108604
  14. Hey I'm no Ohio state fan that I will PROMISE. As a matter of fact the only time I cheer Ohio State on is when they play a California team, no bias statement here but I think that it is a pretty awesome gesture to the Navy. At least the coach and players would like to do something to show the respect to the people who after they are done will be shipped somewhere to serve their country. Nice job Ohio State!!!!
  15. Silva is just plain and simple a bad bad man. The guy has beaten some of the best there is in his weight class including Franklin. I would love to a GSP vs Silva fight. As far as Lesnar I really cant stand the guy and from I hear there is a Lesnar Carwin fight now booked. That is going to test Lesnar with someone his own size and strength. Carwin is 11-0-0. With ALL his UFC fights being stopped in the first round by either TKO or KO. He has one guillotine choke. It will be a good fight to watch.
  16. What forum was this on?? I cant see the pic you posted but I'm dying to see what it looks like. There were 3 guys that I was stationed with in the military that were from texas. Well to show their "love" for the state of Texas they branded the longhorn on their arms. One came out looking half way decent the others got infected and had to be seen at the base hospital. When they healed they looked like a ladybug with long front legs. Man I'm glad there are people like this out there, it gives us entertainment.
  17. I hear what you are saying sluggunner. I had a argument about the fact that NASA got the 450,000,000 for a "stimulus" and the answer I got was that they do alot for our technology. "they help with the cell phones and GPS." Well last time that I checked NASA was not a business ready to turn belly up. As a matter of fact they are always building more shuttles to send to space, or how about the MILLIONS up MILLIONS they spent to send a rover to Mars to check for life only to have be destroyed. When are we as americans going to realize that we are being royally screwed over?? We pay and pay and pay and get what in return?? I'm sure that there were some people in the past that left another country for the same reason.
  18. How bout that stimulus package now ladies and gentlemen!!!! NASA got a nice chunk of money from the stimulus package ($450,000,000) and just yesterday they sent a $5,000,000 treadmill in space to be placed on the space station. Gee I wonder how many people were laid off from NASA during these hard times:wacko:. Awe the times of CHANGE.
  19. I was going to get pics of it today but the camera some how got broken!:crutch:. No the spiral cam is draw specific. I hate to get rid of it and but I have 5 bows and this one is not being used. Like I had posted, I have NEVER shot this bow, not even one arrow has been flung out of this bow by me. The previous owner bought it for a back up bow and NEVER EVER took it out in the timber.
  20. Its a sad sad day guys, I'm selling my 05 Ultra-tec. This thing is the bow that I wanted for a long long time but its time to let it go. I never even got to shoot the thing!!!!!!!:bummed: Its a 2005 Ultra-tec 2000XT limbs 55-65 lbs!!!!!!!! (this is what I really like about it) 27.5" spiral cams. Camo color. Comes with NEW NEVER SHOT strings from a private string maker in Canda. I will ship it anywhere in the US for $400 I'm going to go cry now.

    Tax Tax Tax

Here we are in one of the worst recessions since the great depression and I sit here and wonder.........where in the world is our tax money going. Now the reason for my rant is this, my great -grandmother recently passed away and left a large amount of money to her kids (my grandfather and great uncles and aunts). My uncle who is in charge of the estate and getting things in order had to take a loan out to get the money needed to pay the Inheritance tax. The sum of it was so large that the local bank couldn't even fathom the thought of the loan and he was directed elsewhere for it. Now what gets me even more upset and fuming is the fact that this money was handed down to my Great grandmother from her parents, having lived through the depression and hard times my grandmother knew the value of money and never spent it, only thing she spent alot of money on was the TAXES from the interest the money made. Now back when she was given the money she paid an inheritance TAX and like I stated before the TAXES on the interest every year that money made. Now that my uncle is dealing with the estate they are once again TAXING money that has been TAXED from the day the grandmother recieved it (1930's). It has been TAXED non stop and now that she is gone it will have another TAX of almost half of the estate. We are TAXED everyday for things, gas, food, hobbies, driving, walking, living and even dying. So I ask where is the money going??? How are we trillions in debt, our economy is in the dumps and yet we still have congressman who make over 150,000 a yr?? Am I missing something?? Am I the only one that sits here and thinks to myself, what in the world is going on??? It seems like the average working person will never get ahead in life. My grandparents and uncles and aunts are all retired, they worked their 30+ yrs and are now trying to reap the benefits of it, my great grandmother never EVER splurged with her money and now the Government wants its HALF!!!! For what?????????????????? It has TAXED and TAXED and TAXED. Sorry for the rant it just gets me so riled up thinking about the government getting half of what has been around my family for over 100yrs just because they can ticks me off. Ok Im off my rant, Now how bout them Cubs:bummed:
  22. Best solution I have seen yet. If they want to torch the canteen, kitchen, dorm and visitor center then I guess that they really didnt need any of it so dont rebuild it.
  23. I always thought that the center 11 was nice and large for the coyote but never thought that the low 12 was big!!!
  24. Ive never heard of this company before but I will definetly say this about what I just read, the strings are some of the best made and there is no better kind of limb on the planet. It sounds like they have quiet a few things going for them.
