Re: Long Range Shooting Great shooting for the set up and it is alot of fun. Makes you feel good to know you can hit something that far. BTW, something that I use to help me, I got a waterproof sock and put rice in it then sowed it up. Put this under the grip and use your off hand to grip the sock. Tight and it will lower the site, relax it and it will rase the site. Just something the Army showed me years ago.

Re: This Hits Close To Home *Update* Sorry, I did not see this before. Glad that your friend is OK. I hope when they write this up they put it in for a "V" for Valor. Sounds like he erned it.

Re: Got my grades Hey TG, You sound like someone my Wife (Mommy) would get along with. She is in her last 1/4 for Park, Rec. and Wildlife. I will be so glad, this is stressing everyone out but I will still keep her. lol. Good luck with your last year, I am glad that Mommy only has 3 more weeks, don't know if the boys and I could take much more!

Re: FRIEND INJURED AT WORK Will put him, his family and you on the prayer list, now is the time for you to be the friend and keep him going. If he hunted and fished with you keep after him to go out with you. He can still have fun in the outdoors, it just takes a good friend to help.

Re: Name One Thing Working Full time in the Guard as a E-6, from a Special Forces Guard unit, I make more total pay then a leg E-6 in OIF or OAF?

Re: Marines in Dress Blues before funeral We keep telling one of the SFC's E-7 tipe, in my office, that we did not know he was in the Marines? He keeps his Dress Bleu's in here, they still don't look as good as your' though.

Re: My advice to the Marine I just wish that they would have to report what is going on over there in the same % of bad v. good, lets see: that would be 5 sec of bad and the other 14 min of news time on the new schools, water running, ER's running and smile's. No, not everyone likes us but I don't like everyone that I have to see everyday eather! What we see on the news would be like reporting on the U.S. and only showing D.C., New York and L.A. slums and telling the world that this was the U.S. I just don't get how they can get by with it? Tell your bud "Keep his 4th and 6th point of contact down!" If he don't know what that means, tell him to ask a Paratrooper, I know he will share the info with a "LEG!"

Re: THE MARINES FINAL INSPECTION Thanks Marine, I have seen this one but for the Army, I know that there is one for every branch but it still hold true. I am glad that there is enough of us that remember that others will not forget!

Re: What scope do you prefer? I have blew up 3 lupols (no I do not like them) on M-24s and seem to be sighting them in all the time. On my M-24 I have a 4.5X14X40 and every time I take it out of the arms room I have to sight it in again. The same thing for the other M-24 on my team. The one on the M-82 .50 cal is so iradic that I would never us it. For all my Mags (7MM Rem. .300 Win. and WSM) I have Simmons 6.5X20X50 and can shoot sub MOA. I will not get a trashco and after what I went though with lupol and then my cusion got one for his 300 Win Mag Sendero and after they sent him the 4th one by Fed-X it would hold a zero. I have a 10X60 Swarskie binos from the army and if I had $1,500 to though away, I would own one but till then, I will use the Simmons and see if I can get a Swarskie for my M-24. Frank.

Re: 300 rum IB, after been through 3 sniper schools and having a Green Beret sniper for a Dad growing up, you have said the best thing that I have every seen in print. I have at my sign out, a M-82 Baret and to set here and say that I would even take it to the range, let alone on a mission, is total missery. I will go down range with the M-24 and leave the .50 cal at home. The other sniper on my team said the same thing. We go down range the .50 stays home. I will say this, if you plan on shooting 400 M then set things up to shoot 600 M so you know how to shoot at that range. Frank.

Re: Home from Iraq!!!!! Mike, tell mommy that my family thanks her very much for what she is doing. When you get the time PM me. Wish you the best 2 weeks you can have till she gets home for good. Frank

Re: I AM SICK OF IT Mike, remember just a few weeks ago, I told the story of the first time I got to do this. I do not think that I could do this on a daily thing. I do hope that things can be worked out and sorry that they could not take the high road and talk to you all before taking it out like this. That was just wrong but play the hand you was delt and I do with you the best.

Tomorrow I go to the Dr. to have my left shoulder looked at and I have a big deleama: I would like to have it fixed but I only have about 2 months to do so. I just hope that it can be done or worked on to get me up and running again so I can do what I have to at the end of this time frame. Wish me luck and a prayer would be good also. Thanks.

Re: Property Management Opinions Needed I know that this is a hard one too, hunting in the 60's and 70's I do not remember seeing any posted signs. You also took the time to talk to the land owner and got the hand shake to seal the deal. The 80's come along and all the shows started showing the "Monster Buck's" and then that was all that seemed to mater. To the one's that is a true hunter, it don't seem to be a problem but then there is the ones that just have to kill something and it has to be bigger and better. Living on a farm, we never posted till about the 4th time I was run off of my own land. My father in law never posted his place till he had a cow shot and when his son went to look at the cow, was shot at also. ( I was marred to is li'l girl for 2 years before he let me hunt and if it was not for his grandson asking if I could take him "qurill huning" I don't know if I would be hunting there today.) I will say this, seems like of late, a posted sign seems to attract the slim more. I do not have a problem getting onto land, I may not get permission the first time but if I really want to hunt the land, then I will go back and just talk to them and most of the time, with out asking, I will get the invite. Good luck with what you do.

Re: Bummer TG, You need to work with my wife, she studdys to much. Well when she gets to stressed out I just tell her: "5 Weeks!" that is how much longer she has to finish school. Getting her Degree in Park, Rec and Wildlife. She would like to start a game bird farm when she gets done. Good luck and I am taking Mommy turkey hunting in the morning. She would like to study but I am making her go.

Re: Soon to be outta here! Hey OB, You plaing the Oxbow? I am going to be there sometime Friday afternoon or evening. Got to stop and see my Great Uncle, he is not doing very well and I need to see him. He is the one that lives just off the old bridge (don't know if it is still there, was talking about putting a new one in.) Hope you have as much fun as I did hunting the Oxbow for rabbits.

Re: Debt of Honor: Hanoi Jane Slugshooter, if you will look, I also said that I did not wish her any harm. Yes for years I hated this woman as bad as I said. I would say that I am getting older and that is why I said the part about not wishing her harm, I will leave that up to God. Having grew up in the '60s and with my father in the Green Berets, I got to see this war from a point most did not. I allways supported the troops and allways will! What people like her did was something that should to this day make any Proud Amarican hide in shame that we alow her and her crony's to run free. But as a man in uniform, I have to fight for the rights of everyone not just the ones I feel have the right to have them. Carbonhunter: Try Honoi Hiltion and 5 Years to Freedome. The last one was done by a man that tought a class that I had to have back in the army in the '80s. Slugshooter, I will not get down doing anything to get crap started but I do not see anything as you do and don't realy care how you feel about things. I just have to let you do as you feel is right as long as it don't cross my beleafs. That is pushing anyones rights to far. I will respect you right to thing that way, but remember that I have that same right.

Re: H&R Handi Rifle Question My 7 year old son has one in the .223 and I have never seen anything go wrong with it. It is a great shoter (even with him shooting it, last time at the range he shot 14 rounds inside of 2" at 100 yds with it.)

Re: Skydiving I say go for it, but you have never jumped till you step out of a High Proformance Plain at night with 90 bls of equipment on.

Re: Great Weather.... I drove up from Ft. Knox yesterday and what a ride, 8 hours of rain, sleet and snow. Glad I got home when I did, we have snow on the ground here in Ohio, they was calling for up to 2" at Knox last night. Said in WV high land they could get a foot of snow above 3,000 ft. Heck it was 85 Thur when we jumped into Knox.
