  2. Re: Last Monday Finds [ QUOTE ] Hey deershed, expecting another 100 out of you this year. Do you have a good April Fools Joke for old dad? Thank for the antelope sheaths. [/ QUOTE ] Congrats on an Awesome day!! And those pics were just as awesome as the finds.I like them all,but really like that second one. Your welcome for the antelope sheaths,of all people I knew you'd appreciate one for sure. If kicking dad's butt all season isn't enough payback for that April Fools joke we can work on something. I'm hoping to hit a 100 again this year,if I don't it won't be due to lack of trying. You should have a pretty good season yourself. Good Luck the rest of the season and keep posting those awesome pics...
  3. Re: Found some antlers Sad to see them go like that, but at least the rack is going home with you.Nice rack too!!

  8. Re: shed contest entry deershed Cascade,Maryland I've been right around 100,but I've really been busting my butt these last couple years and my areas are all going down hill.
  9. Re: my 1st shed of the year(pics) That's what it's all about, sharing and making memories with the ones we love,Awesome day and nice shed!!
  10. Re: first time shed hunter Cover it all they can drop any time anywhere...
  11. Re: shed contest [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I like the rules, but think bonus points for matched sets should be given. [/ QUOTE ] Always a trouble maker in the bunch!! Seems I am a fawn again but hey I got my original user name back. Was getting tired of going by TJJF anyways. I am gonna put down zero sheds this time so you get stuck with me. I need someone to carry me in the contest from the looks of my shed season so far. !!! Tim [/ QUOTE ] Hey,not looking for trouble at all.I was auctually thinking of you. Seems to me you and Tyler match those matched sets up better then anyone else I know. Seroius, most matched sets don't lay together so it takes more then one trip to match them up.I feel a little extra credit should be awarded.Either way is cool with me.

  13. Re: Shed and Coyotes [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I live in Cascade,Md and do most my shedhunting a 1/2 hour outside of Washington,D.C. [/ QUOTE ] i hate to be a sticker but i do beliueve there are coyotes in every county of maryland now and the DNR has confirmed that.....just because you arent seeing them, doesnt mean they arent there [/ QUOTE ] No doubt in my mind these yotes in every county.A couple years ago a couple were spotted by different guys just about a mile from where I live. I do most my shedding further south into Montgomery co. and where I shed hunt the odds are slim the yotes are there.Where abouts you at in Md?
  14. Re: Shed Contest? [ QUOTE ] Yeah it was fun last year. One thing I'd want to suggest is not letting the team win by a best picture. My team had more sheds found and we lost cause of the best picture. [/ QUOTE ] I agree partner!!
  15. Re: Sheds & snow Snow tends to concentrate the deer into smaller areas making sheds easier to find when the snow melts. In my areas my average shed would be buried if I got 4" of snow.If I get a good snow and it sticks around before the majority drop I like that. The deer tend to use the trails already cut in the snow and it's a good time to find them right in the trails. Also a great time to see exactly where the deer are and their travel routes. Most times I get just enough snow to make things a pain in the butt. Not enough to concentrate the deer and just enough to hide a shed and enough that when the sun hits it throws a nasty glare off. The other day I was out in patchy snow and found this one.

  17. Re: first shed!! Cool looking shed,Congrats!! It would have to be velvet damage, looks like it got banged a good one in velvet.
  18. Re: Shed and Coyotes No yotes in my area, but I've found sheds fox have messed with.I hear they'll pee on them and roll around on the shed probably as some sort of marker.Every now and then you'll find a shed and smell the fox urine without a problem.

    Todays Finds

    Re: Todays Finds Sweet!!
  20. Re: which ones fall first In my areas it's a coin toss which drops first. Here's my finds for the other day then saw a half dozen buck like the one in the pic.
  21. Re: shed antlers Increase your odds of finding sheds by knowing where the deer are at the time of shedding.Looking where you saw the deer in summer or fall won't help much if the deer are somewhere else come late winter early spring.
  22. Re: How many inches is this shed I sure wish somebody would just measure the thing.
  23. Re: Any NY sheds found yet? Isn't there another storm heading your way this week?We got a dusting of snow yesterday, snow usually doesn't effect the shedding down here in Md.for me. Now that I said that I'll probably get 2 foot of snow next week.
  24. Re: shed antlers Check out the thread at the top of this page "Shed Hunting Tips" for where to find sheds and all kinds of great advice on shedhunting. And here's a past post on biggest antlers found by some of us on here. http://www.realtree.com/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/1050366/an/0/page/0#Post1050366 Welcome to the boards and Good Luck this shed season!!
  25. Re: How many inches is this shed [ QUOTE ] I'd say 52 2/8's. [/ QUOTE ] I already did!!
