  2. I found a couple little dinks this year. Here's my biggest with the 3 little dinks I found.
  3. And every year we've got the guys behind the scene making the contest run smoothly...A BIG THANKS to Todd!!!
  4. Congrats on some record year's guys!! Some AWESOME totals for the year for alot this year.I'll make it 4 out of 5 that had their BEST year ever with the sheds found in a year. It was an unbelievable year for me....160 sheds with 24 sets.
  5. Some how I missed this post too. Congrats on an Awesome day and your biggest set ever!! Great pics too.
  6. Way to go Team #3,Congrats on a Great year!! Those last 3 sheds put you out of range of us.
  7. Wow,what an Awesome find!! And to have the kids with you when you found it,doesn't get any better.
  8. Wow,what a bittersweet find that is!! It's never fun finding them like that, but when you have a set of matched sheds off the same buck from the year before,it makes for some impressive finds!! What a Sweet buck he was!!
  9. I'd have to say my DREAM season is finally over. There's still a chance a few more could be added before I officially start my 2010 season, but my main looking for the season is done. I still have ATL's I'll post in the thread I already started.I don't think I got half way though the season with them. It's been an Awesome year for me giving me a new record high season for sheds found and matched sets.My total sheds found was 160 blowing away my old record of 116 sheds. And my matched sets this year was 24 beating out my best year of 18 sets.I also found my second biggest matched set this past season. There was a few other "first" for me too.I found my first ever double mainbeam shed and my first shed(s) with dried velvet still on them,I found a matched set. I have no complaints with the season other then not being able to match up a few singles I'd have loved to have matched up. I've got all my sheds in the traditional shed pile pic,but a couple little dink sheds were left out in the pics of my singles. And my single elk spike shed wasn't found til after any of these pics were taken. Here's all my single fresh left sides. All my single right sides. All my single old sides. These are all my sets together then some pics in smaller groups. And the traditional shed pile pics. And Stacy with the shed pile. Here's my elk shed again that capped off my BEST ever season. This was my last find of the season. [/
  10. Congrats to another AWESOME season!! Alot of once in a lifetime Dream finds for most of us guys in that pile. I'm sure after surgery and you get back on your feet you'll add some more to that pile.
  11. Thanks guys!! I think sharing your finds is all part of the shedding experience. Here's some more. A little fresh spike side found in the same field the 4 sets came from. Here's an almost yard shed. Believe it or not I was right on top of this one before I saw it. Here's a fresh 4pt side. Don't know how I missed this one last year. My favorite way to find them, sets laying together. Another nice fresh 4pt. side. Here's a couple old ones, they all count. And another old one. This was a nice one,but he busted off his g-3. An old spike. I found a couple close ones here.Straight behind this first pic layed another one you can't see yet. This shot is from a different angle. And one more of the same shed. This pic was taken straight behind that last shed. You can see that pile of brush in this pic and the first pic of the last shed. A couple more of that same shed. When you miss them fresh dropped in the hayfields the following year that can be a little tricky spotting. These next ones were Pa. sheds. The rodents did a number on this fresh drop. Then this one lays all year and nothing touched it?? A little Y shed laying on the bank of a small creek.Looks like the little buck crossed the small creek and dropped it climbing the bank. This one saw better days. A sweet 5pt. side with blood still on the base. Nothing beats the sets laying together. I spotted this one from about 40yds. A couple more oldies. A little fresh 3pt. side. Love the bladed brow tine on this next one. My dried velvet sheds. And the mate. Both together. And my last min. set. These were found at the end of the day with only mins. of daylight left. I wasn't far from my jeep too.
  12. Last weekend late friday night Zach my son and I headed up to elk country arriving there shortly after daylight. We put in alot of walking all day sat. coming up empty on any sheds. Our highlight of the day was a toss up between a grouse and a turkey we saw from the jeep on the road. We spent the night up there then a friend of ours made the trip up and met us at the hotel we stayed at early Sunday morning.Just before coming into Bennezette Chris saw a sow and 3 cubs. Once again we were back out looking for that elusive elk shed. We hit some pines around some foodplots. We found a fairly fresh dead elk first. No head or hide, but alot of bones. After a couple hours of hiking and getting turned around. We ran into some bear,a sow and 2 cubs.I never got a pic of thre sow.We couldn't see her til all 3 finally took off up the hill. After the bear encounter and getting our bearings we started working our way back out.We were basically covering the same ground our trip out and Zach and I were walking out together. We were walking single file talking when I stopped dead in my tracks after spotting this. After the spike elk shed we worked our way back to the jeep uneventful. We searched a few more areas coming up empty at them too before calling it a day around 3 and heading home. I was tickled finding that spike and felt bad it the same time with being the only one to find one.I wished so bad Zach and Chris would have found one or found the one I did. I know Zach is ready for some more trips in the future. Despite the low 90's Sat. and the high 80's Sun. it was a great time. Finding the elk shed was Awesome in it's self, but it also means I won't have to make another trip for wt's trying to find that one more shed so I hit 160 for the year.I'm done now.... Here's some pics of the shed at home.
  13. That set is just unreal!! If you'd stick a rack like those on one of our deer running around down here I don't think he'd be able to lift his head off the ground. That set is Awesome,Congrats!!
  14. Some more.... An old one buried in the grass. A couple little fresh ones. Check out this funny rack. A couple more little fresh ones. Here's a little fresh Y shed. This next one was a funky looking shed. At home. My next 2 finds for the day was another little fresh one and an old one. This next one was dropped right off a nice trail. Looks like this buck left this one in his bed. My last find for this day was this nice 4pt. side. Found this one on a pretty steep hillside. I spotted these two buck one day that didn't mind me taking their pic.Later on another day I managed to find the bigger buck's right side. Here's a better look at the bigger buck. On this day I started off finding a couple little fresh ones then a couple of Sweet sets. My next find this day was the first antler to matched set,the other side will be found in a little bit. Before finding the other side to that last one I stumbled on to these. One of the prettiest sights I saw this season. Then shortly later the other side to the one before the set laying together. Here's the day's finds at home. I had this buck's matched set from last year too,the bottom set. The following day I was back in the same area where I found the 2 matched sets to check the grown-up field out better. It didn't take long before I spotted these. While searching that same small grown-up field,at the other end I spotted these. Here's all 4 sets that I found in the same small area. More to come.....
  15. Great pics!! I didn't see a shed in the bunch I'd have let lay.Congrats on a great season!!
  16. Hope everything goes smooth for you and you get back on your feet in no time...
  17. Team #5 Rack'n'Stack,24 matched sets or 48 sheds. Here's all my matched sets I found this year except one set.If I need to post more sheds for my limit I've got more.

    A Hanger

Went out Sat. for a few hours and found 2.The first one was a hanger,my first for the year.
  21. I've got a pile of sheds, but can't say I'm finding 15-20 in a day.I've got two double digit days,10 one day and and 11 the other. Alot of time put in and even more walking.I search all over the county here in Maryland where I look and I've searched many of my areas mutiple times. I search the high percentage spots first and a couple times then work my way out searching further out from there. In each area I search I cover the entire area. Some think covering trails or fence rows or certain areas is enough.I found my sheds just about everywhere with in an area so I cover the entire area. Early in the year I grid pattern search the high percentage areas and give the so-so areas a fast walk though. After I know the buck are dropping good I start grid pattern searching the whole area. Where ever those buck can be found late Dec. thur April there's a chance you can find a shed there,so cover it all.
  22. Great day!! The shed and mushrooms would have been all I needed.Good Luck with the turkey your next trip.
  23. Wow!! What's the score on that beast?
  24. It's been an Awesome season and it's still going strong!! This will be a new record season for me this year.Right now I'm 40 sheds over my best ever season.
  25. Make a shed pile in a corner in the house. When you want to play with one just dig through them.
