Just had a little tiff with the woman at the post office:mad: As you know when you ship something international, a customs declaration form needs to be filled out. I wrote on the content description "30 carbon arrows with field tips". She proceeded to tell me our soldiers cannot have items like this. I told her it is my money, and if it is undeliverable, it will come back to me. It is going to a archery club for OUR soldiers in Afghanistan. "Whatever sir" and she rolled her eyes:rolleyes: The tube of arrows is on its way!

We use that type up in our house upstate. I use the RV anti freeze in my bucket and we get lots of 'em. Good luck gettin'em all.

Cool Dad:cool: My Dad helped me with my Car, and I won 1st place and best engineered car in 1972. I remember that day very well. He marked out where I needed to drill for the weights and let me cut some of the wood until I was hacking it up and he took over:rolleyes: I did most of the finish work sanding, painting and decals. Dad put on the car while I was sleeping a small clear plastic windshield. I think it helped with the aerodynamics. We used Rosin on the nails/axles for the wheels. That Kimber factory is about 25 miles from my home:) Made in Yonkers, NY! Westchester county, on the NYC border. Get well acquainted with the .45 if that is what your heart is set on. Like I have said, for CC the gun has to be in condition 1, cocked and locked with a round in the chamber. You will need to practice with your draw and make one fluid motion of drawing and flipping the safety off as you are in the process of raising the gun and aiming. It is a single action trigger, so you need to be careful when you are doing that. With that type of trigger, you will tend not to jerk the gun when you squeeze the trigger and 1st shot placement would be right on with PRACTICE. Great choice in caliber. While I definitely would promote a product from NY like a Kimber, the Taurus 1911 has gotten some great write ups and has many features that come only on custom guns. Give it a look. Muggs you are information deficient here. An AR-15 is NOT a fully automatic weapon. The M16 is. It requires a trigger pull for each round fired...I guess you did not read my previous post when I explained what an AR15 is. A semi automatic rifle, just like the Remington 7400 or the Bennelli Shotgun. ONLY class 3 Federal Firearms dealers and Class 3 License holders can own fully automatic firearms and that is not what we are talking about. Machine guns, pen guns, cane guns and short barreled weapons( rifles with barrels less that 16 1/4") were regulated in the Gun Control act of 1934. Yes 1934. The AR15 is only being criminalized by the way it looks. Our military does NOT use AR15's "I'd like to meet the freakin gohper that needs an AR-15 to keep him under control." Haven't you ever seen Caddyshack:D Seriously Muggs, now that you know the truth about the AR15 does it change your mind now? It is NOT a machine gun. Muggs...Do you remember what happened to Jim Zumbo a few years ago? Would you consider him a ethical, well rounded accomplished sportsman? I do. He made the gaffe in his blog on how the AR15 is not needed by hunters and no one should have them. He was vilified by Field N Stream and dropped from their payroll and he lost many other sponsors over his comments. There also was a outcry from gun owners and a lynching almost took place. Since then, he has been converted and is now an owner of a EVIL black rifle and supports them to the fullest. I agree, they may not come knockin' on my door for my guns yet, they just have to use the stroke of a pen to make law abiding gun owners criminals. Like they did in NJ in 1992. You are right about the media and many outlets being biased. But as a gun owner, and evil black rifle owner, I will support whatever supports me. I think more along the lines of the NRA than the Rainbow coalition. I tend to believe in people/organizations I agree with. Maybe that's just me:rolleyes:. NY has had it share of anti gun bills and we are still limited to 10 round magazines and have to jump through incredible hoops to get a pistol permit. Maybe you have not seen gun control 1st hand, I have and know its evils. My Uncle in NJ owned a evil black rifle, and Senator Frank Lautenberg with a stroke of a pen, said he had to turn it in to the police, destroy it and offer proof of such or remove it from the state. When that happens to your area , you might change your mind about certain issues. Because that DID happen and gave people of that state many reasons to fear the gun grabbers. I hope BHO makes good on his promise as President and I pray he should be behind the Constitution 100% and not try to alter or change it any way shape or form.

That term was created by Adolph Hitler. Now, if you are talking about semi auto rifles, that function just like anyone's Remington 7600 or Bennelli. You are judging a weapon just on looks. I don't need that kind of gun? Your kidding me right? Less than 1/10 of 1% of all guns used in crimes comprise those types of weapons.(2004 FBI uniform crime report) What about the simple fact that I am a law abiding American that has done nothing wrong, with freedoms protected under the Constitution? That don't count? Why fear me owning that type of gun, or even object to ANY law abiding citizen owning one? Why stop there?...who needs a car that goes over 60 mph? Or a Hamburger with 2000 calories? Or a $10,000 ring on their finger? Or a 5000sqft home? I can go on... To make the argument that the Founding fathers did not mean those types of guns when they wrote the 2nd amendment, would mean that the internet should not be protected under the 1st amendment(free speech), because the Founding fathers surely couldn't have conceived the internet either at that time in America. Fear the government that fears your guns. The 2nd amendment was placed to guard against Tyranny and preserves ones right to self defense. I hope your right and I'm wrong on BHO and the gun issue. I agree Kathleen. Vets are Vets are Vets. We should take care of them as best we can. They did, what they were asked to do and they are being left in the dark the final years of their lives. I hope Gov Palin fights hard for these vets and they get their pensions back. Funny, the Gov't has money for midnight basketball leagues, but no money for Vets who defended this country from invasion.

I live in NY and about 15 years ago I bought myself a Lifetime Sportsman hunting/fishing/archery license. $500 for the Sportsman, fishing and turkey, and $180 for the archery. To ensure that I locked in and was exempt from future price increases for tags. They always go up. I still have to buy my trapping and muzzleloader tags. I bought one for each, of my 3 sons right after they were born. Got in for $250 each before they turned 5. OK fast forward to today... NY is having its budget problems and our Governor ,by default; Gov. Patterson is looking to save some $ and cut corners and raise funds. He closed the state run pheasant farm, that raised birds for release in NYS and now, he has made a proposal to start selling a trout stamp and a salt water fishing stamp to raise revenue:(. What I found out is that the lifetime licensees are NOT exempt from this increase:mad:. We fish fresh and salt water here in NY. I live close to the Hudson river, which is brackish water. Salt/fresh mix. I got my panties in a knot and called my state assemblyman. I cannot believe the service I got from this young man. He called me back and stayed on the phone to listen to my concerns and agreed that Lifetime licensee's should be exempt from these new stamp sales. Not only that, we talked fishing for a while and exhanged hot spots! Today, I received a Cc: letter from his office, that he sent to the Chair of the Conservation committee;Robert Sweeny. Requsting that the fees all together be scrapped and if fees/stamps were to become a reality, to consider the people who have investeda good deal of money in Lifetime licenses and leave them out of any future price increases. I have to tell you that I have never received such personal attention and had a politician take the time to listen and even act like a regular guy to talk fishing. I'm almost done:D My point in this post is:rolleyes:. That even one letter or call from a constituent can help make a difference and make your voice be heard. NY Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski will always have my vote. Not only because he listen to my beef, but he also is a sportsman who understands how the Sportsmen/women of this state are always looked at, to make up the difference in budgets. Write those letters and make those calls, they make a difference! Sorry if I was long winded. I wanted to make the full point. Thanks for reading this.

Sorry to hear that Leo. That bites. There has been a rash of the same thing happening around here. The police have been telling everyone to lock their vehicles at night. Maybe a well placed trail cam or a motion sensing light could help.
