I feel for you Joe...I am taking the other option and bailing on NYS. Lived here 54 years and I am done. The Tyrant Governor passes laws in the middle of the night without public input. Says if you are right of center there is no place for you in NY. Also said that America was never that great. No problem Andy. I will sell my primary home here in NY...take my pension and bank accounts and go to a free red state where the cost of living is way more affordable. andyboy by Tony Pic, on Flickr

Frank...I can tell you the feeling you get, when you finally kill something on YOUR property in immense. I had mine this past December. Bought my little slice of heaven in Texas six years ago and I let everyone and their mother shoot stuff on my land...BUT me. I finally was able to get down there for Whitetail season and was able to shoot a small 8. I was antsy to get something on my land after waiting so long to do it myself. You sound very excited. I am happy for you. Hope you have great neighbors. They are factors in making all of the good stuff happen.

The rubs look promising and there are plenty of Oaks. I am happy for you. Best of times are ahead.

That is awesome! 40 mins tops from the house. You will be able to use the land a lot more than another property far away, and you do not even have to sleep there being it is so close to home. Will you be leaving it empty and looking to obtain a AG exemption to keep the taxes low? Or plan on building there?

Congratulations! A little slice of America for you. Awesome. Looks like a few various elevations and a stream running through. How far from home?

I hear ya William. Some statement/political bumper stickers are way out of line. But I must admit that the creativity of some is amazing.

Great info. I hope every state gets a handle on CWD. A scary thing no doubt. I'd be willing to pay extra each year to help find a cure.

I'll be dog sitting at my son Joes house this weekend while he and my future daughter in law go to the big outdoor show in Harrisburg ,PA. It takes two days to cover the whole show it is so big. Ruger is a fun dog, a handsome Charcoal lab. So it is not so much a chore. But he is just about a year old and is a rambunctious sword. Cannot keep him out of the water. I want Grandchildren! But the dog will have to do for now ?

Well...It is winter boys. Stay warm. Not much going on here. Wife and I might be dog sitting Saturday for my son Joe. He has a wonderful Charcoal lab named Ruger that is just about a year old. We like watching him, but boy does he shed. The wind has been quite wicked here, but it took down some big hanging limbs that were hung up in the trees. They came down without incident. Horns should be dropping soon if they have not already.

Radiant heat is good stuff. Sounds like a heck of a system with that outdoor boiler. Bulk purchases are always less expensive.

I don't know how you northern guys do it all the time with the cold and snow. Now we got some real cold and snow here in lower NY. But it is not all the time. You guys are the champions. Hats off! But not too long...Its cold. How many cords of wood do Y'all go through?

Dogs are mans best friend for a reason. Lock your wife and your dog in the trunk of your car. Drive around a while and open it. Who do you think will be happy to see you?...The dog. Sorry for your loss.

Oh Boy Muff...those are beauties. Labs have stole my heart. My son Joe has a Charcoal Lab named Ruger that did it. You gonna take one?

Happy B day Mrs Mudrunner and Happy B Day Mrs Tyser. Good luck with the traps William. We are getting ready to batten down the hatches here for the big storm. 8-10" expected here in Rockland and 9-15" expected in Sullivan county. Well it has been a while without a big storm. It IS winter...right? Don't mind the cold but the snow has to go. Won't miss none of this when I am in Texas. Stay warm and safe gents.

Ha ha ha...You know you will not be able to have just one...?

Have 2 Ruger Americans. One in 5.56 the other in 300 BO, both ranch models. Great triggers and deliver a lot of gun for the price. I see you have the threaded one Ross. Have a can yet for it?

Is that the Crypt keeper? We can go and enjoy the zoo...why? Walls work.

Ugly times boys...Ugly times. The next two years is gonna be a hoot.

I think the shakes are normal and I think she may have bumped her eyeball, but not necessarily, scoped her head or eye socket as what happens usually when people get too close to the scope. That would make the red. My guess. Hope she is OK William.

Yes Happy New Year to all. Be safe and stay home ...Its amateur night for drinkers.

Pretty cool. That guy knows how to play. It looked like Phil Specter had escaped from jail ?

Our youngest Michael is home from Grad school for Christmas. Great seeing him. He changes so much each time I see him. My son AJ, a cop in the South Bronx does not have to work Christmas eve, but got nailed Christmas day. Domestic disputes are one of the biggest the biggest hazards for police during the holidays. My son Joe and future DIL will be at my brothers house in Bethel, Ct as will my wife, Michael and I. My Mom will be there, she is 91, closer to 92. Still sharp mentally, but falling apart physically. My wife has been baking the last few days making cookies and chasing me from eating them. Hope everyone has a great safe Christmas. Anthony

First off. Congrats on the purchase. I have a S&W shield and it cycled everything I have fed it. I am confident it will go bang and hit where I point it when I need it to. Tula ammo is Russian made steel case ammo. I have shot a lot of it in .223 with the AR's and it worked fine but dirty. The steel case does tend to be hard on the extractor. Brass cases expand and contract better than steel. So the extractor needs to work a bit harder to get the spent shell out of the chamber. We have used it when we shoot full auto down in Texas when we get the class 3 weapons out( full auto). The UZI, FN FAL eats everything we fed it. Even the steel case. I have shot it in .45 and it makes my 1911 very dirty. Other ammo burns better and cleaner. I have no idea about your ammo laws. But I have made many purchases from Targetsportusa.com and Palmettostatearmory.com Ammoseek.com is another site that tells you where the best buys are. Have fun and good luck.
