Re: kids-what do you do? There were 5 people in my house growing up and the chances of someone not liking what was for dinner were pretty good. But we had two choices eat it or go hungry. Mom was not about to fix somthing special for us there was no need. I am still a little bit picky when it comes to the food I eat but I still will eat anything put in front of me without complaining. Thanks MOM !!

Re: Natural Hunting Blinds??? This coming year year I am going to try spot and stalk on deer out in the panhandle of oklahoma. I made it out there last year but is was opening weekend and way to hot. As for a blind there are enough sage brush and plum thickets that you can kneel down anywhere and pretty much be hidden. I can't wait to arrow a deer from the ground!!

1. No School This may sound crazy but I like classes and it beats working 2. Work 3. TICKS I went out this evening to do a little plinking. When I got home I had to pick 3 ticks off my legs. 4. Mosquitos. 5. Gnats. I know 3,4,5 could have been grouped together but I hate bugs. They annoy me! Maybe I should consider moving to Antartica. Time to contact the travel agent!!

Re: Sperm/egg Donations The thought of someone elses sperm/eggs in someone elses body just kind of grosses me out. It's not for me. But someday I am planning on adopting a child. I was adopted myself and I cannot imagine what my life would have been like if my parents had not adopted me. Things seem so natural at home sometimes I forget that I was adopted. I think it is a wonderful gift to give a child a home, and I am very grateful to my parents. The funny thing is I look and act more like my folks than my brother who was not adopted.

Yep gas went up to 2.47 here today. And while I know it is higher or lower depending on where you live I thought I give everyone some comparisons 1 gal. unleaded gasoline = $ 2.47 1 gal. Dr. Pepper = $ 3.71 1 gal. bottled water = $ 7.99 **Dr. Pepper based on $.98 a liter at walmart **And the bottled water based on $ 1 for 16oz bottle What I still don't understand why everone(Including me) complains about the price of gas more that the price of bottled water, one of the most abundant natural resources in the world.. Just thought I give you something to think about.

Re: the energizer hog You are one lucky guy to be able to hunt all those hogs and to have your wife enjoy the sport with you. Good Job!!

Re: What was that ?? Yea they are pest animals. They don't do much damage on the farm but if you get them in your yard kiss your grass good bye

I cought about 5-6 of these guys about the same size right off the dock behind me using grasshoppers that I caught I the tall grass. I usually catch and release so I don't have a pic of the rest . So one could argue that I just kept catching the same fish

I hate sitting in my stand when you start to hear a little restling in the leaves, just to find out it is an armadillo. So the other day I decided to thin out the population a little. I actually had one more but I didn't feel like carrying it all the way over.. These 4 were all shot with 60 yard radius of each other.

This is my first goose and man was it exciting. I scouted the area hard, practically had the farmer beg me to hunt his field. I practice my calls alot but it did not help because as soon as the first flock was locked up about 75 yards I had forgotten everything and I know I sounded terrible. Well I had two flocks come in and circle they were in range but I wanted to wait till they had their landing gear down before I shot and they got wise and left before that happened! So the third flock came in as I was running short on time (I was hunting in the evening since that is when I scouted and thats when they used the field) when the last flock got in range I dropped this guy with the first shot. Nothing beets watching waterfowl coming into your spread!!! I love it!! This guy had about a five foot span. I wish now that I had a pic holding both wings out.

Well the other day I decided to try something new. I had become bored with shooting my shiloettes with my .22 mag so I decided I try something I had seen on TV about snipers and their training. What they did to train for hostage situations was tie two different colored ballons to a RC car. Then they would drive the car around at about 100 yd.s or so The objective was to pop one balloon without hitting the other. Well I don't have an RC Car nor the helium to make them float. So I blew up two different colored balloons tied a piece of fishing line to a branch with a paper clip on the end and stuck both balloons on the paper clip useing the end with the knot. Both balloons just hang there and 'dance' in the wind. It was really windy the day we went out and those balloons moved a lot. It was a real challenge. The girlfriend and I were back about 70 yd.s with my .22mag shooting off a bipod. It was alot of fun. Just thought I would share this idea with others that are bored with stationary targets.

Re: laser sight for 22 pistol Look on ebay they have some that will clamp on to your trigger guard and most of them you can pick up pretty cheap.

Well I have finally decided that it is time for a new shotgun. I already have a semi auto 12ga. but I am in need of a new. (Haveing to carry my 20 ga. everytime I went out duck hunitng in case my 12 ga. failed, finally made up my mind.). I am thinking about a new beretta 3901. I want to stay with semi auto 12 ga. and I have no need for a 3 1/2" shell. I think it will be a good gun for the money. I am also wanting a new rifle, but it may have to wait till closer to november. I currently have a .22mag and a 30-06 and am looking for something mid range. I want something light enough that my girlfriend can handle it comfortably but I don't want it so light that it has no power. I like to target shoot, nothing fancy like .5" groups at 100 yd, just clay pidgeons at 200-300 yards and I think this caliber will suit my needs just right. As for the gun I am looking a a Howa .243 1500 sporter with a thumbhole stock [image][/image] Any comments about these Ideas are welcomed. And lets hear whats on YOUR list ?

Re: How did you stay focused in school? Live life weekend to wekkend. I am in school at OSU The only thing that keeps me going is the fact that some day I will be able to afford the toys I gawk at now. Mon thru Fri it is all buisness but on fridays at 12:20 its vacation time. As a matter of fact I am trying to plan a pig hunt for this weekend. It will be a welcome relief from my four Exams!!!

Well I thought I had found a good deal on steel shot the other day. $5 for a box of winchester steel shot. Too bad when I got home I found out they were only 2 3/4" Okay so it's not that bad of a problem I just dont like shooting 2 3/4" shells for waterfowl Oh Well

Well this is our last weekend to hunt and my boat has a hole in the bottom about the size of a dime. I am in school right now so I don't have any of my equipment to fix it right and I need a quick fix for tomorrow. I was thinking about using JB weld or maybe a BIG Glob of silicon. Any suggestions???

Re: I Need Electrical Help I do have it grounded before the second light so I guess I'd better go take a second look at it. And yes I did check to see if the bulb was burnt and it wasn't. Thanks for the help.

Okay I have lights wired to my camper shell. 2 pointing outside and two on the inside. both are wired to a switch panel on the inside of the shell. the outside lights work without problem. the inside lights however need help. One of the lights work but the other does not. The one that works is wired through a switch directly from the batery and to the the metal on the truck for a ground but that does not seem to work for the other light. any help would be appreciated.

This year I'd like to take my dad out duck hunting with me but his 12 ga. is out of comission so he'll have to shoot my 20 ga. I was thinking about buying some Hevi shot so he can have every advantage I can give him, because he doesn't get to shoot very often and he will be shooting a 20. I was wondering if he should shoot a smaller shot size to gain a higher pellet count? I plan on getting ducks in close less than 30 yards. Any and every input is appreciated. Thanks.

I have been wanting a side by side for quite some time now and hopefully I'll have made up my mind by Christmas. I am looking at a Stoger Uplander http://www.stoegerindustries.com/firearms/uplander.tpl with screw in chokes but I am not sure about barrel length. I currently have a 12 ga. semi auto with a 28" barrel and I like haveing the extra length. So what advantage if any is there in have a 26" barrel other than .1 lbs and 2" ?? Keeping in mind I'll keep my semi-auto
