Went out this evening to a spot that I love. I got in there at about 4 and sat until dark. At about 5:45 two does came in to about 40 yards. They milled around in some apple trees for about 20 minutes and then walked right under my tree. I looked down between my feet and watched them. As I looked around I saw another BIG bodied deer about 80 yards out in some thick stuff. It had its head down for a while until another deer walked past. It picked its head up and I could just see antlers on its head. It was a real nice buck. He was nudging some does for a while but never came close enough for a shot. Then right at dark 5 more does came in but I decided not to shoot. All in all it was a very exciting night of hunting. I am going back out in the morning. Hopefully I can post some pics on here tomorrow.

Well, Im sitting at my computer waiting to start hunting. Its 3:46am and Im heading up home from school to hunt down near One of the biggest swamps in Pennsylvania. I am excited there are monsters that live in that swamp and Im ready to put the smackdown on one. Best of luck to anyone hunting today. Ill hopefully be posting pics on here in a little while.

Well Im sitting in my room right now trying to fall asleep. We suffered a tough loss to WVU tonight on the ice and I think I might have torn my groin muscle.....anyways I am off to hunt with fellow forum member adrenaline_junky near where we live. The spot we are hunting is along Geneva swamp in NW Pennsylvania. There are some monster bucks that live down in that swamp. I have never hunted there before even though I have lived less than 1 mile from it my whole life. I am excited I will hopefully be posting pics of a monster on here in the morning. Last night I was hunting down here at school in a great early season spot. The deer travel through this area on their way out to the field at night. There are about 6 crab apple trees and a monster trail and some nice rubs right in the middle of it. I got into the stand got all set up and didnt see anything! I know the deer use this trail every night but not yesterday. At about 7 pm I see 3 does come whizzing past my stand and right behind them were two huge dogs Needless to say the hunt was over. Do you guys think that the deer will be back to normal assuming that the dogs arent around anymore? Could I hunt this stand again? What would you guys do in this situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well the hunting this morning wasnt too bad. I did manage to get some nice footage of some deer and a monster longbeard. This thing looked like a small dog walking through the woods. I am heading back out this afternoon to a killer spot in an area with some apple trees. I hope i see some nice deer.

OK guys, I have this one spot in mind that I would like to hunt but I dont know if it would be a good morning spot. I think I would be a good evening spot but I dont know how it would be in the morning. Here is the situation. Ok about 100 yards inside the woods from a field (which deer use every night) are about 7-10 apple trees with a major trail leading right through it and another trail 90 degrees to the first. There is really no other sign there other than those trails and there are quite a few apples on the ground and more in the trees. I believe that the deer bed about 200 yards up the trail from them and then i believe that there is another bedding area about 200-300 yards on the other side. Do you guys think this would be a good spot to hunt in the morning? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well everyone we had our home ice hockey opener last night against Eastern Michigan. They are ranked in the top ten in the nation. Here is a quick summary of what happened. The first period started off with a bang. On my second shift, roughly about 5 minutes into the game my linemate and I were going down the ice 2 on 1. My linemate passed it to me in front of the net and I buried it! That put us up 1 to 0. About 10 minutes later Eastern Michigan's defenseman took a slapshot from the blue line and scored. It was now 1 to 1. The period ended. The second period went back and forth for a little bit. We finally scored about halfway into the period. They scored again right after to make it 2 to 2. Our captain scored with about 5 minutes left in the period. Now it was 3 to 2 in favor of SRU!!! The third period they out shot us but couldnt put it in the net. The play was physical the whole time. We had to keep our heads up because they were starting to hit pretty hard. The period ended with the score SRU 3 Eastern Michigan 2. It feels good for a team who isint even ranked to beat a top ten team. And it feels even better that the I tallied the first goal of the long season! Well, thanks for reading everyone. Take care.
