  1. Congratulations! Great job!!!
  2. Great story!! Sometimes even the noisy little chipmunks can make you freeze! Sometimes their stop and go scurrying makes you think a deer is coming but your story was good!
  3. Congratulations! Great job, nothing wrong with him!!

    please help

It should work. I've considered it but my 3D target is just too cumbersome to take in the woods.
  5. Congratulations! Great looking buck!!!
  6. Patience is a key in bowhunting but other factors as well. Is your clothing free of scents, do you shower with the unscented products including deodorant? How is your walk to your stand? Do you scare deer on the way in? Are you wearing rubber, scent free boots. How about the wind? Have you left a lot of human scent in the area at any time? A lot of factors can effect deer movement. If you've done your homework and you are sure deer use the area, and it appears they do, then just be patient. Yes, it can be frustrating but hang in there and let us know what happens!
  7. Congratulations! Great shot!!! Congrats to both!!!
  8. Now I see it! Sorry! I was looking at the big hole and didn't notice he said what they were!
  9. Has anybody used the new scent dispenser by Moultrie yet? It works on batteries and goes off by light senor at dawn and dusk or just dawn.
  10. I'm usually on stand 45 minutes to an hour before daylight and around 3PM for the evening hunt. Most of our pre-rut activity has real early and late movements. I get there around 3 only becuase there isn't any deer in my living room!!!
  11. Congrats! Any deer with a bow is a trophy! Nice job!!
  12. Congratulations! Sometimes those things happen. Don't beat yourself up over it. I know, I did the same thing in mid-October. All the practice all summer and I hit the doe above the hindquarter and fortunately, hit an artery and she was dead within minutes and I watched her go down. I felt really bad and I still do but the guys and girls on this forum encouraged me that those things happen sometimes. So I too am waiting for the buck this time. Good luck!
  13. Congratulations! Nice job!
  14. Congratulations! That is a huge buck!! He is a hog of a buck!
  15. Congratulations! Great shot too! What kind of broadheads did you use?
  16. Congratulations! Great job! You should be proud!
  17. I found them in Wal-Mart last night for $2.00!!! Yes, I little pricey but I pay that much in a restaurant for a cup of coffee. When I start hunting all day, I'll start filling my thermos again. But for now, when I need the 'moment' after harvesting a deer, I'll have a coffee ready!
  18. Well, I went back to Dunham's and bought a couple just to try them. They had French Vanilla Latte (I would have preferred regular coffee) but it actually tastes pretty good. Somebody told me that Wal-Mart has them as well. I don't always drink coffee in the woods so I don't like making a themos full. I'm going to throw one in my backpack so when I do want to enjoy the moment, I'll just pull it out and ...instant coffee!! Just thought I'd pass this along to all the coffee drinkers out there.
  19. Congratulations on the doe and good job on finding her! We owe it to the deer and to be ethical sportsman to do all we can to find the deer we shoot. Congrats on both!!

    BAD BAD day!!

Really sorry to hear about that! Guess I'm going to check my reezer downstairs before I go to bed tonight!
  21. Anyone ever use those instant coffee/hot cocoa cans? I saw them in Dunham's tonight. You turn them upside down, tear off the metal ring, push the button, etc. It releases a fluid that heats up the liquid contents. I sometimes am not in the woods long enough for a thermos of coffee but a one cup shot might taste good, (If it tastes good?)
  22. That hurts! Hang in there, the victory will be sweet!
  23. P.S. I wasn't implying you took a poor shot. I was just speaking for myself in my situation. I am truly sorry for you miss!
  24. Sorry about the miss. I passed on a shot at a doe that came in right before dark, but it was dark enough that I knew I wouldn't be able to see through the peep and I have the large hole kind. I didn't even pull up the bow, no sense in taking a chance of a poor shot. At least for me and my bow, I hope I know my limitations.
