  1. Won't give you any cliches, just my prayers. But be open to God's Spirit, there has to be a lesson in all of this. I was out of a job since April and unemployment ran out at the end of September. I had been working on a job since the end of July but I really wasn't sure what was going to happen. Well, God opened the Red Sea just in time as they called last week and I start next Monday. Remember, it is His battle, not yours. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. As King Hezikiah did, take the papers and lay them out before the Lord and just pour out your heart. He's listening.
  2. I know deer don't move as much when it is warm. And it is really crucial to get to one asap when it's warm so the meat doesn't spoil. That being said, what is the temperature range that you will hunt in. What is the warmest before you say just to wait until it cools a bit.
  3. I've had it too and still fight it once in awhile. Try to have someone watch you when you shoot or video yourself. Sometiem the harder you try the worse it gets. Try to relax and focus. Let the pin float on the point you've picked out. Just watch the point of impact after you release. Focus on these on just push the release. It's frustrating when you know you did something you know you shouldn't. I know as soon as I release and I flinch or relaxed my bow arm right before the shot, I know I did wrong. Stay with it, try not to get discouraged. I don't do it much anymore, Just practice and you'll work through it.
  4. I think you'll be posting a success story soon!!
  5. That is some nice looking ground! Good luck!
  6. Hunters Specialties makes a Lifeline that keeps you attached to the tree from the moment you leave the ground until you come down. You are never untied. It's really a neat system. I started using it this year and I really like it. Check it our on their website.
  7. Congratulations to both of you!!
  8. Yea, the pressure from the state land may force him back over. I hunt private land about 50 yds from the state ground. I know the pressure will funnel some deer over. Hope you get the big one!!! Sounds awesome!
  9. Hope you have a great season! Remember, while we go out to shoot a whitetail, the kill doesn't always make the hunt. Family, friends and the outdoors! Have a safe season and do hope you connect! Relax and enjoy the hunt!!!
  10. That is what I've started to do. I tried the Remington Turkey Nitro #6 and they shot a good pattern. I tried to get some Federal's at Gander the other day but they were in the process of restocking and didn't have any on the shelf. I may try some Winchester's as well.
  11. My first was a small doe. In fact, I've shot three deer with the bow, all does. I missed a nice buck a number of years back. Got a nice 10 pt on my camera recently. Hope to see this during daylight but I'll settle for a decent doe for the first this year. Here in Maryland we can get a buck and a doe during archery season.
  12. Might want to check ebay. Can find just about anything on there.

    buck bombs?

My buddy used one and he thought it was a waste of money. Hunter's Specialties has some of their scents in spray bottles. I would just use them or something like it and just spray with the wind every once in awhile. I think you'd get the same effect with a lot less price. If the scent works and the deer sniff it in the wind, they'll come.
  14. That is really great!! Congrats to you both!!
  15. What's your favorite 3D deer target? I've been using the Delta Backyard Buck Legend and I like it. It's getting some wear and I'm thinking about trying a new kind. I practice from a ladder stand so I need on with some good size vitals. What's everyone use and why do you like that one?

    acorns

We're getting bombarded here in Western Maryland! They are falling like rain!!
  17. Good one! Maybe we should really try that in our churches?!
  18. The way I 'might' see it is this...if I stayed out of the woods and watched the game and they lost, I'd regret not being in the woods. If my team won, I'd be happy but I'd still be happy if they won and I was out in the woods. I'm not that big of a football fan (college or NFL) although I follow WVU and the Terps in college and the Skins and Steelers in the NFL. Not enough to stay out of the woods on a beautiful fall day though for the college teams. It goes back to the saying "You can't have it all!" But recording the game isn't a bad idea either! Gotta choose! Which one has the 51% of the passion?
  19. Great News!!! The health care facility that I had the interview with offered me the position today and I gratefully accepted! I start October 8th and I'm really excited! God has shown Himself faithful once again! Thank you all for your prayers, it meant a lot that those from the hunting/outdoor community were praying for me. It was sincerely appreciated! May God receive all the praise and glory!
  20. My prayers will be with the family.
